  • Cool. Never heard this played on a 12-string before. Very unique sound.

  • @GreenAshR47

    Thank you :)

  • It is pretty good from 0:45. thanks

  • Thank you :)

  • Best version Ive heard of Kottke's arrangement!

  • @AprilJo88

    Thank you :D

  • Thanks for all the comments, everyone!

  • Original piece written by J.S. Bach is called "Jesus bleibet meine Freude", for he's been German.

  • I've been looking for that...I think you were responding to someone else, but thanks anyway! Thanks for your earlier comment as well; I'd respond to everyone more personally, but I'm always jammed up. We all know how that goes, yeah?

  • is there another name for this song?? can sombody tell me, its driving me nuts. thnx. awesome playing by the way.

  • Chorale Prelude BWV 147 by J.S. Bach. This rendition is similar to a Leo Kottke verion on his 6&12String album. Nicely done here.

  • @martinaxman

    Thank you XD

  • wow... really i got to hand it to you! specially on a 12 string guitar!

  • Wow

    That 12string sound is unbeatable.

I'm playing a similar arrangement on 6 string nylon,

but I just can't get the sound as deep and full as a 12string.

Some day I'll go and get one...

    Great job man!

  • you using tabs or ear? well done.

  • that was brilliant! contact me.. I need to know how to play it.. keyboards and guitar etc.

  • Nice Bach on the twelve string

  • Perfection. This was one track of the 3 part medley Kottke did on 'Live', the other being Crow River Waltz and (i think) Busted Bicycle. You are more than capable of doing that and I'd like to hear your rendition.

Great that you share via YouTube but I think you could easily put 'bums on seats' in a concert/gig venue.

  • Just heard it again on the radio, the third part of the medley was Jack Fig.

  • I really like this =) Sounds beautiful.

  • You did it again! Very, very nice...

Would you like to take on "Living in the Country" ?

    Thanks!!

  • Nice job again. I always liked this song a lot on the 12-string, it billows so much more. If you keep going with the Open G songs, what do u have left? Snorkel, The Ice Miner maybe Cant Quite Put It Into Words? Can't wait to see what's next.

  • Yeah, I'm running out of songs to work on; I know maybe 3 or 4 others, but they are nowhere near ready to put up yet. I love open G, and even though it's slightly restrictive I am certainly more comfortable fingerpicking in that tuning than in standard. I'm working on some 6 string straight tuning pieces, actually, namely Ojo and Last Steam Engine Train. I hope to put those up eventually.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • I love this song, and you play it so well...nice!

  • Thanks!
