this V8 4.7 H.O. was the fastest SUV to 2004. I own one and I had beat so many cars and all thoset fucking old honda civic fast and furios wannabes stay in the dust pff love to race them here in mexico ;)
And at the first mud hole or log in the road the BMW goes to hell. Not bashing the BMW certainly has its place.. but the Jeep is much cheaper to purchase too.
I own both, and I KNEW the 4.7L was a faster vehicle. Power is crazy in the jeep, but its a totally different power in the X5. Now in Sport Mode, I'm wondering if the X5 would give the jeep a good run for its money...
@CalgaryBMWnut The BMW was in Sport mode lol. The torque in the Jeep is a lot higher than the BMW, but the BMW has about 20 more hp. BMW is also a lot heavier than the Jeep
@4wheeler14 weight on the x5 is 6,005 punds cause its all reinforced steel for "saftey" i like them my mom has one and im glad shes safe in it but power to weight sucks they dont get up worth a shit but still damn nice and smoothe rides :) i liked the video :)
@4wheeler14 what year is the X5? My 2005 4.4i in sport mode seems like it could easily keep up with the jeep... BUT I have not ever raced one personally, I will confess.
hahaha your jeep took off like a champ man. i never knew jeeps where so heavy at 4300 pounds! yeah thoat chip does help some and the flowmaster muffler plus no cat really helps free up the exhaust for that upper rpm gain.
@aaminjoshi91 Yeah there is a noticable difference with both of them. She's heavy but man does she have torque. The all-time 4WD helps a lot on the launch too
@4wheeler14 yeah awd drive is nice on slippery and icy roads not to mention just overall. bet your tires rarely slip. I kinda like the 2wd/rwd but awd is nice to. times like that where i wish i had an R/T durango. not many around here.
@aaminjoshi91 I agree with you. I would rather have a 2wd/4wd option in order to have "fun" on the dry pavement, but the Quadra drive system is great. I never get stuck in snow and it's great for taking small gaps from stop signs around town.
The 5.9 Durangos are nice, just like the 5.9 Jeeps. But like you said they are hard to come by, even becoming collectable
@4wheeler14 yeah i mean a 5.9l durango isn't that hard to find but i'm pretty sure a 5.9 jeep is. i think they only used the 5.9l in 1998. and electric cutouts huh? that will be nice. try and put it right where the old cat used to be. if not closer to the engine block. that will net some nice volume and power in the upper rpm range!
@xFiveNineJeepx yeah i know. a durango with a 5.9 is possible but those jeeps man idk where to look besides normally looking. its nice that the 4.7l in jeeps are good and that they now come with hemi''s and the ol 5.2!
@aaminjoshi91 The cutout isn't electric. They are like 250-300 buck just for the cutout. Plus i didn't want to cut up the interior dash. Just a simple cutout that uses screws to close it or open it. I'll try to put it as close to the engine block as I can for the best sound ;)
@4wheeler14 No you cant! lol you should send me a part number! i might buy those too! Pm me the link to the part you baught. i'm guessing they're somewhat universal?
@josh1303 Stock 0-60 for the Jeep is 6.7 and 6.8 for the BMW
Stock 1/4 mile for the Jeep is 15.2 @90 and 15.1 @91 for the BMW
Stock curb weight for the Jeep is around 4300 and 4800 for the BMW
Based on the numbers it would be a very close race, but keep in mind my Jeep has a Flowmaster muffler and chip, not major mods but they do help in the upper RPM's.
Jeep,bad ass suv..
Bmw X5..Joke, for a lower class black dude that likes to look like he has a little $,but is behind on his rent,(not Morgage)..

@jose218g really
jeep 0-60 8.7 seconds 220bhp
X5 3.0 0-60 8.2 same yr, 231 bhp
X5 4.4 0-60 7.3 same yr, 286 bhp
X5 4.8 0-60 5.9same yr, 360 bhp
fastest X5 0-60 4.5 with 4.4 litre engine 547 bhp
So lets get this right the 2004 jeeps 4.7 0-60 is 8.7 back in 2004, and X5 4.8 back in 2004 was 5.9, don't talk shit.
The X5 was the fastest SUV from 2000 and still is in 2012

@4wheeler14 Yup, the bimmer will leave it in the bends, but for an off road oriented vehicle, they really do handle on road quite well.
