  • yup macs r def overpriced ,even if u want to buy the mac pro dual xeon and upgrade hdd and ram and GPU uself ,itll still cost £1000 more than to buy one from scan computers using high qualitry componants that often have 3 + years warrenty ,apple r fail that overcharge for all extras and even charge more for MS office than MS does themselve ,shows apple r for gullible people with more money than sense

  • Duplicating the current 12-Core Mac Pro's base hardware via PC build would cost around $2500 dollars. Apple charges $4999. In December of 2007, Apple was charging $850 bucks to upgrade a Mac Pro from 2GB of RAM to 4GB of RAM, while OCZ and Corsair were selling 4GB for $150 bucks.

  • HD 5770 is extremely crappy considering you pay 5000$ for that machine rofl.. for that price you could go 4-way CrossfireX HD 6970 and still have lots of spare cash left

  • @MouthofSaurons its a workstation NOT A GAMING COMPUTER! the processor alone cost over $3000 as is from intel.

  • @iamterence77 oh now I see, just checked the price on Amazon. Pretty crazy.

  • @iamterence77

That's silly! The CPU doesn't cost anywhere near that.

  • Fuck Dell..Fuck Mac..Build your own Workstation!

  • @Loocifur Im Too Lazy :P

  • @TheMrDisser I don't understand how a movie edited on a mac would look cheap? Anyone can throw a couple clips together on any computer, add a few transitions, and that would look cheaply made, regardless of what OS they used for editing. Most the editing software people like to use for editing (not even concerning professionals) are available on the Mactinosh as well (i.e. After-Effects, Cinema 4D, etc).

  • @TheMrDisser I have personally talked with several people who prefer using Macs for video editing.

  • @TheMrDisser The average ram a laptop features today is 4GB ram. Macs are generally preferred for video editing by most professionals. Im not saying Windows isn't great for editing but macs PREFERRED most of the time.

  • I would build my computer myself...

  • @TheMrDisser Yeah I understand. I still don't think Hackintosh are really going to be stable as compared to an actual mac (for all the patches and "changes"). Im not against Hackintosh, I just would not prefer it as a "first" Mac.

  • @TheMrDisser I am not disagreeing, but I think Hackintosh should never be your first mac or primary computers because I know alot of people who make Hackintosh, use it, think it sucks, and they never look back at the Mac OS.

  • @TheMrDisser I agree with a custom-built Pc. I wouldn't ever build a Hackintosh for my first mac, or my primary computer. Hackintosh is not at a stable point (for everyone). You cannot update the OS, run bootcamp, etc.

  • Dell Sucks, They slow down really fast. There shit. Plus when they get slow, they run EVERYTHING like its a shit on the ground.

  • @ALittleNooby Well I really don't think one company in general sucks. Its either the OS or the "from what" the computer is built from (i.e. the quality of parts used). I've used Dell, HP and Asus, and personally if anything sucks, I usually blame the specs.

  • @EverythingISTech Still, Dell has a far way to go.

  • I need a update, I got into video editing more and with after effects it renders 1 minute in 30 minutes

  • @Busegry I could give my personal advice. Just message me with what operating system you want and a price range.

  • dude a macs the wolds most advanced system and apple is the best that is just true, dont belive me? go to apple.com right now

  • @heemoii I use macs and windows.

  • @heemoii wow u r retarded. of corse apples not going to say that windows is better then them, or anything about any problems their products may have

  • @heemoii I generally don't believe people that struggle to spell correctly.

  • whats nice about the mac is its hardware is made for the OS, not throwing together random parts and hoping there's no stutters.

  • @PattyWhomperOFFICIAL In reality, any computer can be built through thrown parts. In my opinion, what makes a Mac different is the OS itself.

  • are you comparing cases? are you comparing power supplies? those make differences...

  • @inventorOz84 Im comparing the computers as a WHOLE. Although I do see your point.

  • i think what we've learned here is never buy from oems, build shit yourself. if you get decent parts things should be as simple as putting together a lego kit. it'll cost about half as much as long as you don't buy intel's newest and most powerful shit.

you can buy a core 2 quad for $150 but if you are looking for the core iX structure the minimum you will pay for a quad core is about $210 for a core i5 which is definitely a pretty big price difference for little performance difference.

  • @joshsniper27 I see where your going at, and I even agree. However, some people wish to buy computers from the company itself due to the warranty and protection. Of course, if something in your computer goes wrong, your most likely going to have to look for the problem yourself.

  • then again it is a dell<_< they own alienware so you know they have no objections to overprice things

  • it appears that dell computer only has a 6 Core processor and the mac has 12 cores of processing power. they can both be upgraded to 3.33 mhz but in the end, the mac will have twice as much processing power as the dell so i think that $700 difference would definitely be worth it and the extra support of mac + PC makes it wonderful, so if I were to choose i would Definitely go with the Mac Pro :)

  • @Zompac Yeah.

  • @Zompac LOL HYPER THREDED SOUTH AND NORTH BRIGED AMD PHENONII(6 Cores Each, 12 Hyper ThrededX2)16 Gb Ram,1tb SSd x2, And Two Ati Radon Hd 5970, all for around $5000

  • @zeldazackman nice, apples webcite does mention that their 6 core x2 processors do hyper threading as well. So it simulates "24 virtual cores"

  • @Zompac so its not a single chip?

then whats stopping people from building their own rigs?

ps im not a fanboy of any os,i have 3 hds(200gb each) with the 1st windows xp dark edt (Runs touhou in 60fps,and i only bought team fortress for pc :/), the 2nd is leopord os(love the 1hr back up, for pron), 3rd is unbutu(for if anyone wants to use but thinks that if they get spyware they cover the pc with a blanket so it cant see+server)

  • @zeldazackman yes that would win

  • @Zompac The Dell T7500 is available with 12 cores as an option and will support up to 192GB of RAM.

  • @Zompac Just a note for you. Gaming pc's got 12 and 16 cores :3 the new i7 something..

No, i'm not a fanboy. I just want to sink your lie to the ground =/ You choosed a half good gaming pc, and compared it to the newest mac.. Is that truly fair?

  • @MrRallemulle Lie? I never said anything about gaming, I was talking about workstations. Computers that do heavy workloads, but recently, I've changed my fucking mind about apple, because i went to newegg.com and got all the specs from apple, and they were selling their macpro like $3000 more than building it yourself. Holy shit, it takes 15 fucking minutes to build a computer yourself, WTF?

  • @Zompac there is nothing better than a 6 core on the commercial product market. you are probably thinking of threads. core i7 uses hyperthreading, which shows 2 threads per core. 2x6=12.

server processors cap out at 12 cores on amd, intel still only has 6. then on the mac pro and other server mother boards you have more than one slot for cpus. mac pro supports two 6 core cpus, which is why it is 12 cores. if you get a quad slot motherboard for the 12 amd, you could have a 48 core, for about 4K

  • @MrRallemulle i actually meant to write that to you not zompac. clicked reply on the wrong guy. there are no 12 core processors for gaming. only 6 cores with hyperthreading. which isn't the same as 12 cores. obviously you could just build yourself a server machine, which is what the mac pro is, but the mac pro must be getting a big discount on those cpus because the 6 core cpu they use 2 of costs over a grand by itself.

  • @Zompac when you said MHz, i think you meant GHz, but anyways, actually the mac pro goes up to 5.86GHz, or 2x2.93GHz to be exact.

  • @CrazyycclowN there is no such thing ac a stock clocked computer ever going up to 5.86 ghz. Because single threads that require 5.86 ghz will run so shitty on this.

  • @CrazyycclowN Lol, I guess it's time for you to go back to tech school huh!?

X2 CPU's Process data in parallel and multi-thread process they do not combine the clock rates and double the bandwidth you idiot.

Man I hate it when people post stupid comments trying to sound smart.

  • D E S I G N .

  • the dell costs 300 bucks more than the mac pro, when fully customized to the most expensive stuff..

  • @Titoezz80 Oh..What would choose?

  • @EverythingISTech how do you mean? what i would choose? i have an 3,3ghz iMac :P guess what i would choose..

  • @Titoezz80 lol nice. I meant the Mac Pro or Dell..

  • @EverythingISTech of course i choose the mac pro, i work at apple bro ;)

  • @Titoezz80 Oh lol. Haha good choice.

  • how would i know you use win ,if your screen looks like mac :P

but there are themes out there i know

  • @stewox1 I shot the video on my Mac because I have a good screen-recorder.

  • if you're interested in comparisson with my pc, post all the details of that dell pc and mac (or better the below-video) , i might just look it my self but im on road now and don't have time surfing a lot.

  • damn why i picked on this , i rather don't make such stupid youtube comments but when i saw DELL it really blew me out. heheh , if you're intereted let me know and you'll know everything about PCs(and im not making this to want you to switch over to windows , hell now , we have our own down sides )

  • @stewox1 Lol...I hope you know I mainly use Windows..... :D

  • This video FAILs , PC ARENT THAT COSTLY

  • @stewox1 What you mean? I said the Mac Pro is more expensive than the Dell.

  • @EverythingISTech Sorry , for being rude maybe , but i'll explain , what you need to know , PCs are custom part-by-part built machines , if you're going to buy branded , already assembled PCs , it would cost you much higher than if you would buy a great mix of each parts , because , YOU don't need a workstation for freaking gaming , workstation is a SERVER , my pc is 1200$ (without LCD , 2 years old , and it's a beast , where is the last time i "checked system requirements" ...

  • @stewox1

Basically if you buy a PC , you don't buy it from Dell , Hp , only hardcore brands such as Alienware are the opt if you have money but you don't have time , alienware also installs and makes everything work and does cool mods and tweaks, the work , this is what you're paying for.

Sorry really because im a bit nervous when it comes to this since i know but i wouldnt rather want to see people being raped by the money milking companies , but i guess you're making hobby vids , nice.

  • @stewox1 Thanks :D

  • @stewox1 I understand. I know Workstations aren't meant only for gaming. I mean as I said, not only can you run a server with workstations, you can do SOO MUCH MORE. I mean, as I mentioned...only a workstation has the capability to render a 1min HD 1080p clip in 45secs...Not even an alienware can do that, not unless you overclock it and spend about $3000 on the machine.

  • i will getting 2.93 GHz /ATi 5870 in a few weeks, just sold my 2008 mac pro just last week, check back in a week and half for the unboxing

  • @34skyline Nice nice. Don't forget to send me the link :3

  • been subscribed to you for a looonnnnnggggg time, you still don't have many subs yet you work so hard and get sooo many vids out. It's dumb...

  • @Reffinskio Thanks for your comment. I get the fun for helping you all with this hobby so it pays off.

  • @EverythingISTech Do you know how to make a windows PC to look like Mac OS? like the theme or something? If so could you make a tutorial? That would be awesome thanks!

  • @Reffinskio I'll look into it..

  • @EverythingISTech Thankies :D
