  • My church started in 1982! I love it.

  • @Baruch153 - "Jesus corrected them saying the greatest must serve and be least. Doesn't sound like the pope to me." -

Jesus was born poor, in an occupied country, in a stable; a carpenter's son. His parents didn't know where He was for three days. He was conspired against, betrayed, denied, abandoned and doubted. He was scourged with whips, crowned with thorns, spat on and struck. He died the death of a slave; crucified on a cross, between two theives.

Doesn't sound like God to me.

  • @Baruch153 as a mediator, and pray for you anyway. And so you know, I didn't say these things to start an argument. It's just here so that if anyone come to read the comments, as I love to do often, they may see another side of the discussion. everyone can take it or leave it. But doesn't make any of it less true. Much like the one true Church of God.

  • @Baruch153 change the church into something evil and wrong. It will always be good and right. It may have some massive issues with the people, just as every situation with the sinful human factor put in, but nothing can negate the fact that Christ founded and built the Church and is good. And if you need no mediator, then never ask another friend to pray for you again, as they serve as a mediator between you and God. Since I don't know you and you probably don't consider me a friend, I will act

  • @Baruch153 Objective truths like the validity, fullness and truth that lies onely within the Catholic church does not rest on the belief of you or me. Never has, never will. You don't have to believe in it. that's okay. But just because you or me chose not to accept the truth does not negate the truth. It's no different that if you insisted that the sun was made of cheese. It's a nice and whimsical thought, but doesn't change the sun into cheese. Saying the Church is evil and wrong will never

  • @Baruch153 Co redeemer as in, if Mary had not said yes, we'd be dead. Just as is Eve had said no, we wouldn't need Jesus in the first place. Eve killed us all by saying no, and opened up the way for Adam to drag humanity with him. Mary said yes and opened the doors for Christ to bring humanity out of the travesty of darkness it lodged itself. Take it or leave it. It's alright if you don't accept it, but just because you don't doesn't make it less true.

  • @Baruch153

I'll also call up my teachers and professors and tell them how unbiblical they are, especially my Christian teachers. They will so totally flip, and I will be so right! I'll call up my former pastors and sunday school teachers who insisted that they were teachers of the flocks and show them the blatant error they stand in...do you think the same goes for grand father's...I should call them up. But why can we call mothers mothers and fathers are banned. What do call our fathers?

  • @Baruch153 Also, you are right that Matthew 23:9 does say that about fathers. I can't wait to throw out one of the Honor your mother and father commandment, call up my father and insist on calling him Eric. That will irk him so much, he'll explode! Then I'll flip to Matthew 23:9 and tell him that I'm in the right. I'll never call him Father again.

  • @Baruch153 And here I thought it was too expensive to produce a bunch of Bibles for a bunch of illiterate people since the printing press hadn't even been invented then. What would the people have done with a Bible that they couldn't read and that would have taken a years wages? Scribes in monasteries copied the Bible by hand and that took forever. Everyone had access to Bibles however. They were kept in the churches, and reading were given at every Mass.

  • This is beautiful. If only more priests could learn to preach like Pentacostal preachers. That will hopefully be one benefit of the many Prot. preachers enterring the Church. A renewal of strong forceful preaching. I was tempted to write authoritative. Catholic preaching is always AUTHORITATIVE. It is simply impossible to see sometimes by how the preaching is done.

  • A Novus Ordo Catholic?

  • RedBloodedShqiponja: i feel sorry for you... Alex jones is working for the vatikan/pope. because of the NWO. The NWO is bringing the vatikan down.. and the popes know that. Like i say.. do some research... dont live blind.. and you vil see that you have been lied to.

  • You guys are such loosers and you dont even see it... cuz the bible have made your eyes blind! One tip... just watch zeitgeist the movie and do some research and you will find out that you have been lied to. if you want to favorite or you are afraid of the truth. Dont watch it! turn your back and Liv your life as "normal"

  • @Claws78 Have you seen Zeitgeist Refuted?

  • @mlbprock ..Matthew 16:18 and Isaiah 22:22 is about the key of David and that's Christ Himself not Peter...God Bless

  • so much TRUTH if only people would actually listen

  • I am surprised that you quoted about holding fast to traditions you have been taught...that is exactly the verse the church uses that shows that not everything Christ taught is in the bible and that Sacred Tradition And Sacred Scripture and the Teaching of the church are old needed for the "full" truth that Christ wants us to have

  • Check out some other fundamentalists who used to believe as you do and what they have to say about it now...Steve Ray, Scott Hahn, Tim staples and David Currie for example...lots of informative books about it

  • Alex Jones quoted the bible wrongly here, Matthew 16 didn't use the word Cephas like in John 1:42 but petros and petra....

II Tes 2:15..."Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. "

Look at the phrase.."ye have been taught"...the apostles never taught us to make statues of Moses/Elijah/Isaiah/etc.

  • Cephas is Aramaic (which is the language Jesus spoke). He said "you are Caphas and on this Caphas I will build my church..." When it was translated into Greek it became Petros. The word play was lost because Petra is feminine and as a result Petra(rock) was changed to Petras which is masculine. The name Rock had never been used before for a name and they would never have given Peter a feminine form of that word so it was changed.

  • @MsKejj....well it was written in Greek, besides Cephas was indeed used even in the Greek to address Peter...but obviously, the author, in this case, Matthew, did not have any attention to write about Peter being the foundation, rather Peter's testimony on Christ...even that testimony did not come from Peter, but God the father...

  • Hey Liquid....ever heard of Michael Servetus? Look him up. He was a philosopher that was put to death by PROTESTANTS!

If you are going to use the argument that the catholic church is bad today for putting people to death 500 years ago, then logically you would also have to condemn protestants.

btw, the "CHURCH" never put people to death....it was SECULAR magistrates that just happened to be catholic.

    Dominus Vobiscum!

  • So you support a church that burned Tyndale at the cross for merely printing the gospel? You dug up Wycliffe AFTER HE WAS DEAD FOR OVER 20 YEARS, and put him on trial for heresy and set him on fire.

In 1844, Bishop Hughes of New York put the catholic vote up for sell if any politician would remove the bible from public schools. Then in 1854, 32 schools had the Bible removed from schools.

Why do you want to take the bible (which is Light) away from children?

    You say you are good?

  • 2:13 the church evolved when people were fed up with the corruption and perversion of oral traditions. That's why Luther split with the 95 theses. The Catholic church was the only church for 1600 years, yes, but they have problems just as every demonination does.

  • Luther started off well, but became full of himself. The Church could have changed with him as its helper, rather than with him away from where Christ's Holy Spirit resides. The Church DID change eventually. Luther lost everything.

  • Sure they changed...everything changes over time. But corruption and politics still runs rampant. Thank God He saves individuals, not institutions and denominations. He who loses his life for My sake will save it.

  • Your an inspiration of faith in action!!

  • God bless you Alex, Welcome Home!

"Thou art Peter (rock), upon this Peter (rock) I will biult my Church!

  • BRILLIANT

  • @luis1coelho How can you even say that... when you dont know nothing but the bible... as i say furthur down in my post's... Give ZeitGeist the movie a chance... its a free hollywood award documentary... AND... offcourse.. after seeing it.. do your own research on it.. you got google right?

  • @Claws78 , I have seen the film, otherwise I couldn't make a statement about it, could I? Just because it was a hollywood ward documentary, it doesn't mean it's content is true. Me knowing what type of brainwashes hollywood produces. Plus, who told you I just read the Bible? I do nothing, but researches, my friend, so i can be prepared for all sorts of lies that I might come across. Knowledge is power !!!

  • @luis1coelho

    You have indeed right!

We are here to learn from each other...

Participating make knowledge, and knowledge makes peace ;)
