I'm thinking of getting an Intuos4, but i've been hearing alot of comments about the nibs wearing out, (fastest was a few hours).

So i'm thinking of the intuos 3, but the intuos 4 seems like a better tablet. I was wondering, how is your usage with the intuos4 and is it worth the money? (:

@RQ321 never having owned an I3 i cant compare, but i find the I4 to be excellent. yes, the nibs do wear down quickly, but i personally thing that is worth the gain you make on having a touchwheel and superior hotkeys. The I4 is a brilliant tablet, and the pen doesnt even need batteries. I dont know if the I3 does. If you happen to be lefthanded you really need the Intuos4, but i would definitely say it was worth the money as a righty all the same. Good luck!

@vincentros Hi, im 22 (but was 21 when i made this), and i use a tablet. specifically an Intuos4 from Wacom. Digital painting has a real curve of knowledge over talent, unlike most mediums. I would reccomend buying "from speedpainting to concept art" with David Levy. Its a tutorial from Gnomon Studios. Of course you will need a tablet and photoshop, but that DVD can vastly improve your ability to digitally paint.

Its worth buying over pirating fo' sho' if you have change to spare.
