What I loved about this season was the spiritual feel they played things off with such as the intensified elements brought about greater strength for them as opposed to solely Digivolve into Mega=Win. Don't get me wrong, they still did it and even threw in an evolution or two that ended up never being used often, but it didn't solely rely upon it.

It's a lot different from pokemon, because the Digimon are the Digidestined's friends and partners, not their battle pets. Pokemon is all about fighting to be the best, Digimon is about fighting to save the world(s) and save your friends, I could go on but I won't :)
@boiboihm Takuya and Koji have 2 Mega-level evolutions each (they're not called Mega but they got the powers of Megas). Takuya has Aldamon/Ardhamon (around Mega-level power) and Emperor/KaiserGreymon (around Mega Mode change power). Koji has Beowolfmon (same as Aldamon/Ardhamon) and MagnaGarurumon (same as Emperor/KaiserGreymon). So, they don't have a Mega literally, but their Fusion and Unity evolutions have the power of Megas....
@PapXS I think peopl disliked Frontier mostly because of the Power Rangers feel it had. Not to mention later on, it was only Takuya and Koji who did ANYTHING!!! >_<

I would say I hate it, but Adventure (season one only) and tamers were better to me. I found the humans evoluting a bit odd. While it should have raised the tension of the series, putting the kids on the front line, it really didn't and may have actually lowered it. It was more kid friendly than Tamers, so it was immediately clear that nothing was going to happen to them.
Also, the power levels bothered me. These are the spirits of Digital GODS, but the were pretty weak overall.
@PissedGrunty well nothing happened to the kids in Tamers as well.Only Leomon was the one who died and Impmon almost died.We have seen good Digimon die in every season (in some they are reborn, in others they are not)
Also,Frontier being more kid-friendly than Tamers isn't necessarily a bad thing.I actually liked the lighter feeling Frontier left. Finally,if all of their spirits were super-strong there wouldn't be a season. Each spirit evolution was more powerful and more difficult

@LuigiMario112 it's still good enough. At least it's still about being trapped in the Digital World and fighting bad guys. I mean, look at what they've done with Hunters. 20 episodes and completely without plot. Compared to Hunters, even 02 is good (I didn't like 02 all that much)
