  • At many points throughout history, people feared hell over death itself.

Now people of that mindset are very easily manipulated. Religion planned it all, and it still does it to this day.

  • For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 2 timothy 4:3

  • what a hypocrite. then why do you call yourself a priest? you just flip flopped on scripture for your personal opinion. And by the way, theres no new testament grounds for a priest which proves the roman catholics are in error in the first place.

  • If The Church were what it claims to be, then THAT'S the sort of message I would expect to hear from the Pope.

  • Beautiful, Brilliant, Fantastic! It's about time someone started speaking some sense. Everyone should be mature enough by now to know what this man says is truth. It is time for humanity to grow up towards the light of God, not your god, OUR GOD!

  • I like this guy

  • This is the kind of priest who should be leading the church into our new age of enlightenment.

  • I like the sound of enhancing our humanity

  • Right on!

  • Time we stand for World Equality.

  • Someone should wipe that look of the interviewer's face

  • Some historical and scientifical evidence suggests hell is hallucinated. Before the supposed coming of christ, there was a time lots of people had hallucinating experiences about this phenomena. I studied Satanism and I can garantuee you Satan and Hell in some form exist. Rather call it an experience, we are in a dreamworld and we have an experience. Extreme uncomfy experience can be described as hell does exist in afterlife or super reality. , Hell has a function. To awaken one to spirituality.

  • The interviewers facial expressions 0:02 & 0:08 are hilarious!

  • another pedophil, with better words...!

  • If you're going to be religious, this is the way to do it-so long as you understand the difference between faith based belief and evidence based reason.

  • He see's through the religious matrix that man has concocted !

  • A message both theists and atheists can agree on.

  • well, for someone who is part of organized religion (read: control system) he sounds quite rational, the thing is, he is just step away from refusing the idea that anyone needs any kind of dictated set of spiritual moral standards.

  • to call you to be more deeply and fully human than you've ever realized that was the potential in you to be."

  • this guy makes me wanna convert!

  • so much yes.

  • And what the News media do?

  • Hell comes from Paganism, the Catholic/Protestant church saw the advantage in the fear factor to make christians.

  • @Pfsif Fear Factor is a shitty TV show for morons, and this is a shitty comment by a moron.

  • All the dislikes are from christians that cant believe they are being controled.

  • @LdnGirl89 lol. you couldn't have said it more better!

  • @SHALATHAYALA This cracker has exposed your bullshit nigga!

  • He's not a priest, you dimwits.

  • @MechaTopher actually he is........or at least was if you wouldn't consider him one anymore.

  • @MechaTopher Actually, he is a priest, albeit a retired one. (And why the insults?)

  • @amritarajini No, was an episcopal bishop, and now he's a money-chasing cult leader. You should do some research and learn some differentiation in terminology and religion before you say something. It's easy to rope people into your BS when you tell them there's no Hell, because you're selling the idea of no repercussions. It's not a hard sell. Ka-ching, baby.

  • @MechaTopher True this is scary, folks is quick to buy this because he is selling the idea of no repercussions u r rite, Malachi 2:1-3“And now, you priests, this warning is for you. 2 If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the LORD Almighty, “I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me.

    NIV

  • What a great vid and message.

I totally agree with what the priest stated.

  • hell wasnt created to control.. religion was

  • @fuzzyjem3 That would make more sense than usual.

  • This guy doesn't know anything. Catholics have made up purgatory to scare but hell isn't made up.

  • Comment removed

  • @mrbushpilot - Hell is real? Prove it. And no we don't want Youtube testimonies or anecdotes or all of the usual "evidence" that religious types throw around.

  • I like how he puts it so simple... 'business' and 'guild'

  • It's scared the hell INTO a lot of people:)

  • the full video of this i saw last year is like 2 hours long, it's pretty cool

  • To paraphrase, "I am going to completely ignore the fact that Christianity is based entirely on an unchanging scripture written over 2,000 years ago and pretend that it is some wishy-washy religion that can be changed at the whim of whoever happens to be in power. I am also going to throw out even the most basic theology and assert that the truth is whatever I happen to think sounds nice."

  • This guy is a crackpot! Pure and simple.. He denies the very words of Christ when he says there is no hell. This guy is just like his father, "...the devil, and the lusts of his father he will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." John 8:44

That pretty much sums up this guy in a nutshell. HE'S A LIAR just like his father, the devil...

  • @llmtruth01 THE BIBLE ALLOWS SLAVERY , RAPE , MURDER, INTOLERANCE AND SEXISM .THE BIBLE ALSO HAS ALOT OF CONTRADICTIONS AND IT HAS BEEN TRANSLATIONS SO MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS . WHO WOULD WANT TO FOLLOW THAT ANYWAY.

  • Wrong

Only The OLD Testament allows such evil, twas written by Apostate Jews, whom Christ called the Synagogue of Satan (Rev 2:9)

Jews seek to destroy Christianity/Catholicism via Protocols of Zion #14

  • @StSimonMartyr I really don't care that this is two months late, this needs addressing. Oh man oh man oh man! What should I do? So many options. Should I just start off being as sarcastic as possible? No, wait, you're probably so ignorant that you'll believe every word I say. You know what, I think I might just jump right into tearing your impressively idiotic argument to pieces and reveal you for the slime that you are. So, without further ado; my string of replies. Please, enjoy.

  • @MrDrpresto By the way, I'm one of those vile, baby-killing, satanic, communist people that you pointed out. What did you call them again? Oh yeah, Jews! Thanks for relating the same (literally) retarded generalizations about my people that have caused untold numbers of innocents to die at the hands of you holy "Christians."

  • @MrDrpresto And I use quotations for your type of "Christian," because at this point, your completely different from a true, good, and honest Christian. I, as a Jew can see and admit this. But you'll probably pass off everything I say as frightening and evil, and that if you had the chance you would cleanse me from this world yourself.

  • @MrDrpresto Getting into my argument, you do realize the Learned Elders of Zion are completely bat-shit insane, right? No truly Jewish person would ever consider harming their fellow man, Christian or not. And by the way, I hate to break it to you, but no bible, whether Hebrew or Christian, is G-D's (Why do I spell it like this? Because in Judaism, it is a sign of respect.) word. Almost all of the Hebrew bible was written whilst captured in Babylon. Things were insanely exaggerated as a result.

  • @MrDrpresto Your Christian bible (and all of its banned, secret, gospels) was written at least one hundred years after Jesus' crucifixion. And unlike what you may think, the Jews did not kill Jesus (if he even existed, but I'll get to that later). This detail in the Book of Luke was written during a time when the Jews and the new Christians were being persecuted by the Romans. You Christians originally started off as a sub-sect of Judaism. Jesus (if he existed) was a Jew.

  • @MrDrpresto His followers were Jews. The early Christian church was Jewish in nature. During the time, in order to limit persecution, Christianity started to distance itself from Judaism both in practice and in design. This design manifests itself in the Book of Luke, in demonizing the Jews as the ones responsible for Jesus' death. First off, there is little true evidence supporting the existence of Jesus of Nazareth. By the way, the name, Jesus, is an Anglicization of Jeshua in Hebrew/Aramaic.

  • @MrDrpresto Jeshua is the equivalent of Joshua in today's tongue, and yes, it was extremely common as a name back then. Also, there were countless people who considered themselves the Messiah at the time, its very likely that there could have been multiple Jeshuas from Nazareth. But this isn't my point. I highly doubt a Jew ever wronged you, so why say these things? With historical context, I have more of a right to say all Christians are disgusting and evil, but the is they aren't.

  • @MrDrpresto I know for a fact that there are a great many Christians who are good people. Its not the religion that makes a person evil, the evil belongs to the person. I also suggest that you read the Talmud before passing it off like you did. It is one of the more scholarly and progressive Jewish writings, addressing many of the inconsistencies and issues in the Hebrew bible. And, fun fact: in the Book of Job, Satan is an angel sent by G-D. His job is to convince G-D to test people's faith.

  • @MrDrpresto I know you'll probably pass off everything I said as "Satanic Jew Propaganda," but I'll leave you on this note. Think long and hard about your Hell. If G-D exists in any form like you think he does, and if he is good and just, then be afraid. With all the hate and ignorance that your spewing forth, you're on the track to YOUR Hell

  • 'CRUCIFY HIM, HIS BLOOD BE UPON US AND OUR CHILDREN!'

Judea & Galilee were 2 Separate states/political entities, illustrated on the map of Palestine in the time of Jesus. Jesus was Not a Jew, He was a Galilean

(Matthew 26:69; John 7:41), a Judahite or descendent of the Tribe of Judah.

Judeans werent of the Tribe of Judah,But Edomites.

His disciples were fishermen from Galilee. HE spent most of His life in his home country of Galilee (JN 7:1)''

    -Benjamin H. Freedman, Jewish Scholar.

  • @llmtruth01 I Like, My eyes is being open to how so many people is deceived, it make me sad because christ is so real, they want to vanish his name out of everything, If I was empowering my humanity I would feel like vanishing him, but since I am working on building up my spirituality I will say Bless Him, for he no not what he say.

  • Spong just hits the nail on the head every time!

  • I LOVE THE WAY HOW THIS MAN THINKS

  • @YTLOVER02 You love the way this guy thinks??? What if this bozo is wrong? Personally I would rather believe the words of Chirst and the words of the prophets than some clown dressed in pious clothing. To believe him one would have to call Christ and all the prophets a liar. Before one commits oneself to someone's else' beliefs, search the Scriptures to see if this man knows what he talking about. After searching I have found him to be a complete liar. Just like his father, the devil

  • @llmtruth01 You can be close-minded and call people names all you want. But it doesn't make you right. Spong may be wrong at times.... but over the many years, he has enlightened many who have left the church because of being turned off by backwards, idiotic, hypocritical teachings.... of old fundamentalist ways. Every word of the bible should not be taken literally. You need to read some of his books. I recommend "Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism"

  • What is that hight pitch pulsing sound in the video? Does anyone else hear it?

  • @TheWakeUpBroadcast That high pitch my friend is the devil and his demons laughing at all the foolish dupes that believe the dribble out of this charlatan's mouth.

  • finally, some truth. Yay!

  • @hirlrng The word 'Hell' is mentioned no less than 55 times in both the old and new testaments. People believe whatever doctrine comes their way because they have itchy ears and give themselves over to seducing spirits that pleases themselves. Hell is not a Catholic believe, it is a Scriptual position devoid of the Catholic church. They are not the authority, the Bible is. Try reading it, you might learn something.

  • Talk about Idol Worship, Protest-antsworship an errant, mistranslated book for Sodomite Queer King James (150 Mistranslations)

Yet there was NO Bible for 400 years after Christs death.

One need not be Literate or have eyesight to be saved, yet U claim only the bible saves, another Hellbound Heretic, Protest-ant-35,000 competing sects & counting, none can agree on anything, much less scripture.

Due to Protest-ants & Jews, we have Abortion, life is Still valued in Catholic nations.

  • @StSimonMartyr I dont understand guys, this book teaches what not to do and how to live a healthy human experience, we all know is a book of good and evil, that is y It has bad and good stories for us to learned from them. Sin from the first two made this happen what is the argument, I guess a lot of us rather believe what is convenient for us we dont want to have anyone to answer to, but again I say I am sorry, that just the way it is believe it or not.

  • The Catholic Church must hate this guy lol. Strange to hear a religious authority actually use some logic and tell the truth.

  • This guy is full of shit.

  • @hugelkultur true, but not the expletive vitriol.

  • Does anyone know his name? the priest I mean?

  • I am an athiest as I believe in science (which holds proof, while faith of anykind, hasnt a shred of evidence) But I think what this guy said, is pretty cool regardless, and I totally believe church, is only a cult. Some better than others, teaching some upstanding values, that humans should follow in general, however, they also tend to teach hate. So Whatever... how the HELL did I end up here from crazy judge judy people!?

  • @BrooklynneMuffett I believe that if something bad should come about happening to u the first thing u will say is OMG...I have friend that call themselves athiest

  • @aleyda41ife Nope what meaning like the oh so many raptures predicted? Like all the ones that have come through making your point? No honey, Im sticking to my grounds and hey if that day *should* come, according to thy holy scripture and manual of proper method to cult dictatorship, Im headed to "Hell" anyways, and quite honestly, Ill be in good company. So please don't assume you know I will chicken shit out if ever Jesus appears cause Ill be the 1st in line at hells warm gates.

  • Jou koppie raas dude. Seriously.

  • i'm a christian...but i really hate those so called religious people(it's either muslim/christian or whatever) who forced other people to believe them.. that is a real hypocrisy

  • The problem is being born on this planet full of evil assholes...like the pope, and politicians, and other religious nutjobs. Most people want to be good and try to be good but the evil fucks fuck with peoples minds. Just remember when you were a little kid and remember your joy and try to find that innocent happiness again. Stay away from most modern music...its demonic ...and stay away from most females...theyre infected with demons too.

  • @BrattStar What is your problem? He's on your side. Did you have your volume off? How about turning your monitor off and just listening? Sheesh.....

  • This is SO refreshing to hear! Christianity without magical thinking and mythology. Amazing!

  • @lifeiznuts Without those things, it ceases to be Christianity. I don't really have a problem with that. Just realize that it is quite dishonest to simply throw out everything you don't like and then act as if your "religion" is the true way.

  • @chronomitch What are you talking about? Of course I realize it's dishonest to act as if your own religion is the true way. Religions have been doing that for millennia! He sounds more like a Unitarian Universalist. Look that up! Especially the seven principles. They make far more sense than the Nicean creed.

  • God would not exist without man.

  • This was very good. I have similar beliefs myself.

  • I couldn't agree more. This priest is talking about big truths. Personally I do not believe in Paradise or in hell. Religion was made by people because they need to feel that there is something more powerful than us, something that can help us, control us, destroy us...

  • Religion has nothing to do with where you go once you die you poor disillusioned children. This idiot is a Catholic, anything a Catholic priest says not only is a bunch of lies but also religious BullShit. Catholicism and Christianity are about as related as Monkeys and Cows. Religion is a LIE - a relationship with God is the only answer. Then again why would any of you idiots reading this even care cos you believe EVERYTHING on the internet/TV/Newspaper anyway.... lost generation of blind mice.

  • @TheBrattStar Don't refer to other people as "idiots" until you can learn to write. Simple as that.

  • @TheBrattStar - You said in your comment that a relationship with God is the only answer, and then you have the stupidity to call us the blind mice? It wouldn't surprise me if you can't see the problem with that; as trying to reason with a Christian is like trying to discuss string theory with a toddler.

  • @BeardedBugs "Rational arguments don't usually work on religious people. Otherwise there would be no religious people"

    Well said!

  • Lol all you lunatic bible believers, if you believe in the bible in the first place you'll believe anything anyway, why not this guy? Oh that's right common sense is not in the bible....

  • Satan's child, so filled with evil, he can't even look the other person in the eye. Anyway he needs to believe it, so as to continue his perverted lifestyle. Just look at his eyes, and you can see he is another one of those perverts hiding in the church, and preying on the unsuspecting and weak ones, seeking help from God, only to find Satan. How does these perverts make it to the cloth? Have the church lost it's spirit of discernment of evil ?

  • this guy might sound intelligent... and philosophically interesting, but it is not founded on biblical information and so he is clearly trying to win people over to his philosophies, not God. The bible is so clear about sin, jesus, salvation and hell. You can't believe some parts and not others. Interesting, sure... accurate, not at all.

  • @jam31688 Actually, the earliest Hebrew texts that we have are not very clear on hell at all. Most of the King James Version's references to hell are actually a mistranslation of the hebrew word for "pit" or "grave", not a place of everlasting torment. Believe me, the westernized view of Christianity is not accurate at all either.

  • @jam31688 research gehenna

  • Very few Christians make as much sense as this guy. Good on him.

  • I'm an atheist and people like this makes me want to be religious. If the world religions were like this, there would be no wars over religions.

  • @TrebenWhahahaha

    Yeah, I agree too!

  • Yes, and on this way of thinking, check out SGI Buddhist lay organization (sgi.org) where the fundamental philosophy is that true religion empowers all people who practice it. Daisaku Ikeda, lay president, often says in dialogues with world leaders - religion needs to exist to serve and empower people, when religion exists with people serving the religion, it's function must be called evil. In Buddhist philosophy Hell and Heaven are life conditions that can exist here in this life.

  • I think this guy might just convert me one day.

  • Someone mixed a dash of existentialism in this man's Wheaties.

  • agreed in full :) such a smart man...

  • /watch?v=twya1j6FpLY

  • While I don't agree with much of what he says- I think there is some truth in a few of the points he has

  • The bible was written by men in a language that was long dead before the printing press. Each man has an agenda, be he priest, scholar or nation leader. Even the ones that translated it. There are proven mistranslations that the church admits to being on purpose. Even the Vatican has told us not to take the bible entirely literally.

  • what a total nut.. this guy shouldn't call himself a Christian.

    Heretic.

  • @stronkde You can be Christian without believing all of it, you know. Do you also think women should only wear skirts instead of pants, and be quiet when a man talks? Do you accept the pope?

  • @stronkde Lol, implying that Christians aren't nuts.

  • @TheMasterSlasher That comment is a bit asinine. I just can't understand what you wanted from making that comment? Did you want a response like mine? Did you want him to try to defend his religion so that you can try to defend yours (or your lack thereof) and shout at each other until one of you gets tired- thus claiming the superior belief? I'm just asking for you to at least attempt to be conscientious about what you say.

  • @TheMasterSlasher what I mean is: If you're going to disagree and argue with Christians, you can at least do it without attacking them personally. Or ANYONE for that matter. It's ad hominem and is called a logical fallacy- It weakens the argument you're trying to make. And if you're going to attack Christians as being nuts, then I really do hope that your lifestyle is more worthy to be reciprocated among humanity. I'm not angry or trying to even defend Christianity- just think before you write

  • @Duckstaped I did think before I wrote my comment, if not I would have never been able to produce the words.

Hmm, I am not going to address anything you said, because like you said, it's all asinine and inane, even though you wrote a whole two paragraphs in response (LMAO). I also love the trouble you go to examine my joking comment, calling it a "logical fallacy". Dude, loosen the fuck up. If I bother you so much, don't fucking reply.

  • @TheMasterSlasher fair enough. I replied BECAUSE you bothered me :p

  • @streethot40 do you state these things after you really tried to see what he was talking about?

  • The root of this debate is not even the subject of the debate itself, it's whether or not the Bible is the inerrant Word of God or if it's just another book written by a deranged sadist. This is the central issue and when there is two people who clearly have polar opposite beliefs in that issue and they will not change, then anything that branches from it will just be a "No, I'M RIGHT!" sort of argument and always gets very childish.

  • Debating on the point of Hell is pretty pointless, at least if between an atheist and a theist. Here's why: a theist believes the Bible is God's Word. Being God's Word, it is infallible b/c God is infallible. And the Bible talks about Hell. Therefore, Hell is a real place. An atheist believes the Bible is a book written by some men who wanted power and made up stories. So the Bible mentioning Hell is just a "fearmongering" device invented by those men to further cement their authority. Impasse.

  • So what about the 70 times Jesus referenced hell? He's just another man trying to lead people astray.

  • @MrTurdFurgeson Jesus never referenced hell, because Jesus never wrote the Bible. Some madman did, and people believed him. Thus, religion was made.

  • @skywardtwilight

Jesus referenced hell as recorded in Mark 9 and Matthew 25. Jesus never wrote the Bible, you are correct, but his words were referenced in four gospels. His followers were also referenced significantly in secular works after the death of Jesus. So either historians are liars about the fact that Christianity existed, thus history is a lie, or Jesus did exist.

  • @MrTurdFurgeson give an example of such secular works (that were not written after the writings of the gospels were penned)

  • @yanging

Josephus wrote on Jesus in c 93. I never qualified the statement that independent works were written prior to the Gospels - just that the referenced Jesus and his followers. Additionally, any study of history must understand that few contemporary accounts exist of any historical event - they were usually written about after the fact. Look at Tacitus' writing on Christ, as well as the emperors of Rome. Historians always wrote about past events, not present.

  • @MrTurdFurgeson While agree about your assesment of historical accounts, the fact that Jesus and his followers are referenced in writings after the penning of the Gospels does not guarantee that the accounts are independent events.

  • @skywardtwilight religion existed before christianity, but i understand what u meant

  • @skywardtwilight Just when I think I have lost faith in humanity, I bump into one other who is LOGICAL!! Absolutely correct! Its as if to say, I read a book on Santa clause... therefore he exists! But, even at that, it is nice to see a priest say even this. Beats the hateful mumbo jumbo everyone preaches from their fairytale books! Lol

  • first priest thats not retarded

  • He isnt a Priest.

He is an Episcopalian Protest-ant Heretic. A Jew Plant.

  • @StSimonMartyr You're fucking retarded :)

  • in all honesty if hell is an invention to control the population from doing evil acts and scares people into trying to help others - GOOD. I see no problem with a device which aims to prevent people from doing evil and promote people to do good in the world. I'd rather live in a world where people tried to be good people and tried not to be evil even if it was caused by "fear" a fear i've never personally experienced and i'm the demographic lol

  • @ralfieri4 It's not about that. The church tries to scare you so that you'll pay them to get into heaven easier (indulgence), and to prevent people from rising up against terror regimes and the church etc. Basically making people "sheeple".

  • @ralfieri4

Problem is that people decide whats good and whats evil.

Don't like rock and roll? Well, its devil music.

Don't like how women dress? Ok, now they go to hell.

  • @StSimonMartyr stop talking shit. Everyone just needs to stop talking shit and be a little more objective.

  • if you dont go to sleep santa wont bring you crap from wal mart and if you dont obey words written by men Saint Peter will turn you down at the Pearly gates.....boy that sounds like heaven for saint peter.......sending people to hell all day and night......or is it like a court proceeding? either way both hell and heaven sound fake and equally unappealing

  • he makes it appealing to consider Christianity as a option.

  • @PassionataSalsa just don't go telling people who've devoted their entire lives to religion, i don't see how some atheists think they can argue with people like that

  • I think that this is a step in the right direction...

...but ultimately I think that something as vague as "god" can be easily spun and used to control people again and we're back to square one.

I think that we have to get over the idea of "god" and just 'grow up.'

And also stop using the word "god" to express something like "the mystery of existence," "the mystery of the universe," "the sense of awe when learning about the universe" or "inner peace." The word comes with heavy baggage.

  • FINALLY a theist who GETS it.

  • Love how the white haired guy doesn't even try to hide is "is this guy crazy?" face.

  • @Purplehasiso implying he isn't completely fucking sane.

  • @Purplehasiso You still dont get it do you

  • Author Unknown: "Philosophy is questions that may never be answered. Religion is answers that may never be questioned."

  • WHAT!? there is at least one religious person who understands this!!? wow

  • Fucking Stockholm Syndrome. Oh lookie! A priestly father figure who's saying all the things a fucking normal person says! But somehow I still need his validation! Ex-theists, huh? You're still trapped. How is the perpetuation of ANY religion good? ANY religion, no matter how seemingly benign, has the capacity to snowball into darkness. Yea, right, you're atheists because religion is a good thing! I know! Let's go moderate!! Fuck all of you. Moderate atheism leads to "moderate" religion.

  • @fdasherv Shut up.

  • So what? A half-way decent priest. Just means he's half indecent. Remove the collar in protest and we'll talk.

  • i hit the thumbs down on accident, dont count one of those

  • I agree and thus love this man. <3! Finally some sense.

  • "If you believe what you want to believe in the Gospel, and don't believe what you don't want to believe, it is not the Gospel you believe, but yourself."

  • best video on youtube

  • This is the most inspiring thing I have encountered today. Thank you for posting this video.

  • interesting that a priest would admit it. It's absolutely true, but still surprising.

  • That's not a real church, not enough endless singing

  • I now have a new perspective on religion

I also really want to go to this guy's church

  • That man's neck is equivalent to a turkey's

  • good man, he knows what its all about

  • Oh my shit this guy is so fucking wise, first openly religious person i don't disprove of, there needs to be a meme for him!

  • another desperate manipulation move by the mother of all abominations to take control of the minds of the weak. people please i pray that you do not believe this, this is from satan and he is only tricking you in to a pit of lake and sulfur with him.

  • @dacanaycesar Desperate? He doesn't sound desperate about anything.
