As a kid from the 70's & 80's, my mother only used liquid detergents. My grandmother only used liquid once it became available, and this was one of my Grandma's favorite brands. My mom likes Dynamo.

(continued from previous post).....So according to this, Wisk would've been on the shelves by Dec. 1955; possibly only in limited areas of the U.S. The fact that Wisk was advertised as "NEW" during the summer of '57 makes me think that it might have been at this time that it began to be sold nationally. Maybe someone else can shed more light on this.....

Thank you tpledger. I was somewhat interested in the question myself, and for myself, I am satisfied with your input.

I saw an article on the web which read that soon, Unilever is either going to discontinue Wisk or sell it to another manufacturer (the way Kraft bought General Foods' Log Cabin syrup for instance).

How do I know it's been around that long? Mostly an educated guess; I've collected print advertising from the 1950's & '60's for several years, and I've found references to Wisk back to June of 1957 in "The New York Times Magazine". Actually, there's an article in the June '59 issue of "Fortune" ('Lever's Artful Dodging') that states that Lever's approval of the final package design for Wisk came in August 1955, "five months before Wisk appeared in the stores" (continued).....
