sadly coal is the worst fuel of all. Nuclear is the best option in my opinion. And it's very, very hard job to get coal out and burn. Other green alternatives, solar and wind, still has a long way to go in development.

Way back in 2003 MCCAIN was warning Congress for the need to give oversight to Fannie Mae. At this time Obama was still in the Illinois State House, taking in real estate kickbacks from Tony Rezco. Later when Obama made it to the US Senate, he began to line his pockets with payoffs from the Fannie Mae crooks. Obamas economic adviser Franklin Raines was fined 24 million, but still walked away with 94 million. Im sick of that lying Change Change mantra. Spare change for us. I like McCain.

First trickle down economics has never worked. No company takes on more employees without more customers.
Next, McCain's economic plan is following the same failed logic as the Bush economic plan. It's not going to be a different result.
Off-shore drilling only meets 1% of US oil needs by the year 2030. Also, McCain's plan does not account for conserving the energy we all ready have.

It doesn't solve the problem, but it helps people on the low end still get to work every day and not have to take money out of their gas tank to buy food.
It'll take about $1 off of the price of gas. Instead of $4 a gallon, people will pay about $3.12.
Again, it wouldn't solve the problem. Just make it easier on people.

Well... first off science solves problems but greed and stupidity prevents the market (nuclear energy is a great example). Second, it's not as easy as you make it sound. I modify vehicles (shadetree mechanic) to run on alternative energy (not hybrid btw), and trust me, we need more oil NOW. The solutions I have are not complete

A "gas tax holiday" has been refuted by all reputable economists. So how long will the tax holiday last then while we're drilling? A few years. Maybe 10? Open the newspaper and read about the economic news. You thin a gas tax holiday will fix this? When we get all the oil out of the ground and the sea, where will we refine it? How much of the global oil reserves does the U.S hold, according to the USGS and EIA? No more than 5%, but we consumer 25% of the world's oil. Do the math.

I didn't mean to say it would fix everything, and I wasn't trying to imply that at all. As far as my research has gone, the US government consumes 97% of this nation's oil.
The other plan McCain has is replacing federal vehicles with hybrids (not all at once, of course. But whenever we need new ones), so that more of our oil can be put toward the people instead of the government.
As of right now, it would take someone about 5 years to make a profit from a hybrid car, because of the extra...

Don't elect a socialist for president. Vote McCain/Palin and keep America a capitalist country where free enterprise is preserved. Obama will tax business right out of our country. What are you going to do when your company moves to a Third World country? How will Obama's meager tax cuts for lower-income workers help you then? Don't fall for Obama's empty promises. Loans from who? Tax payers or China? Offshore drilling? That's a short term solution not even worth it. End the war in Iraq because that is causing the dollar to drop. Build our infrastructure. No nation-building. Financial reforms? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease man, how VAGUE can you possibly get? This is sad man. Really really sad. Let me update you about Senator McCain.
He was an officer in the Navy for 23 years and his father and grand father were both Admirals in the US Navy.
In fact a Navy ship called the USS John S. McCain is named after them.
What did Obama do in the military?
Obama one time while smoking a joint thought about joinng the military, but decided against it, and there is no witness to the story.

What does that have to do with running for president? Palin herself has admitted to marijuana use. While our nation is facing the worst economic crisis in years, McCain ought to realize that conveniently bringing up his military service to dodge questions won't help anymore.

Actually it will. It's called supply and demand. A boost in supply will reduce the upward pressure of demand therefore decrease prices.

Problem is, offshore drilling would only boost the supply by a tiny amount, and would in the end, have an insignificant effect on prices.

What offshore drilling would do is allow for domestic production to be raised quickly during hurricane season and other supply disruptions. The swing production is huge in commodities markets. remember the OCS of Brazil was thought to have much lower oil potential until they looked.

It'll take years for any of this oil to start coming through, and even though alternatives aren't totally online yet, focusing so much attention on increasing our oil supplies by an amount that will have no significant impact on anything does nothing to solve the problem, which is getting us off oil in the first place. Bam.
