the problem existed in x61's made before november of 2007, Lenovo subsequently fixed the issue and users who experienced the issue could have it fixed under warranty.
Furthermore this has nothing to do w/ the mainboard or motherboard, the problem is just w/ the plastic casing around the edges of the screen.
Depending on where you are located Lenovo does take a while in locating replacement parts unfortunately.
What?! Dude, I honestly don't know what happened to your laptop. But I've had mine for atleast three months and it still runs amazing. I don't know what to say to what I saw.
it's not my fault. this problem develops in an unknown number of X61 tablets. lenovo says only a tiny share of all items has this problem, but that is still a lot of affected people.
i wouldn't even mind, but i need my notebook every day. since they won't provide me a replacement while mine is in repair, i'll have to wait until i have some quiet time when i don't need it that often.
i would advise against lenovo tablets if you have to depend on your tablet.
Well just because you got a lemmon does not mean that everybody should stray away from a company, you are going to run across problems like this from all companies... It is just a shame that you where so unlucky, I can see how it is bad business for them not to give you a Temp. Tablet but they can't always cater to every person who has a problem. Did they atleast offer to fix it for free??

they do fix it for free, since it's on warranty. i was in the local shop 4 weeks ago to have them order the replacement parts. no word since.
four weeks? for a lousy mainboard? lenovo has serious problems.
