  • I don't really agree with the subtitle, "America's Best Idea." I love the national parks. But I think America's best idea was the U.S. Constitution.

  • You own the untouched resources. Its easy to "beat" Europe this way. To have a FULL storage. How many generations were grown up in Europe?

  • To the good person that posted this on youtube, I thank you oh so greatly. This is what AMERICA is all about. So much beauty I partially have seen, but these documentaries created by PBS have shown me what other natural beauties that are still out there yet to be see. As a young adult, Mr. Ken Burns has done one of the most amazing documentaries I have ever seen in my life. Thanks you.

  • This is in response to the rude comment by "TheMrnonviolent":

The United States government is NOT a corporation.

For better or worse, We the People do all collectively own the National Parks. Ownership in the sense that we must be stewards along with the Park Service emplyees to protect and ensure the National Parks will last for many generations.

If TheMrnonviolent dislikes Ken Burns video, he does not have to watch it. Obviously millions do like the National Parks videos.

  • Please define "OWN". I am pretty sure the corporation known as the US government owns said land. Are Americans as stupid as the people making this video assert?

  • I'm trying to find what is that guitar song that is heard in each episode..can someone be of help??? thanks

  • I dunno, but if you like it, you'll enjoy the soundtrack from "August Rush"!

  • Yes I liked it too and there will be a soundtrack coming out, but I couldn't figure out what track it was BUT if you like that sound you might like Andy McKee, you can find his videos here on YouTube. Good luck.

  • It's called Sligo Creek by Al Petteway. Glad that you asked. I think I will buy the soundtrack too.

  • You own...you own...do we? Come on man!

  • Wait. Canada is governed by native Americans? How bout Mexico? Brazil? Chile? Argentina? Colombia? Etc....

All of the western hemisphere was taken by Europeans. Not just the land between Canada and Mexico...

So, feel free to spread the hate beyond just the "white Americans".

  • @THEALABAMA3 I agree with you. I'm 1/4 Blackfoot. To be fair- a lot of the national park land was actually sold to the government (not for too high a price), but it was sold. The Blackfoots used to own Glacier National Park but they did sell it to the government.

  • Very very good!!

  • Great!!

  • Great video!!!! America has some of the most diverse beautiful land scapes , Gorgeous National Parks.
