i dont get it, i thought japan has one of the best schoolsystems in the world and everybody learns english.....so whats with these girls?? i mean this is basic stuff
@Hautamekki most japanese don't get actual practice speaking. most of their learning is writing/reading. it also doesn't help that their 'most' of the english teachers are native japanese.
I know this is a comedy show and all but if Charmy did have to ask that question in english outside of Japan, I wonder if she'll be able to understand the answer ppl will give her XD
This is definitely a hard way to learn english... they probably dont even know what each word means.. having to memorize the whole line like that is definitely very Hard.
This phrase would be fine a a colloquial situation. Generally you would need to insert "to" after "get" to complete the prepositional phrase, therefore making it grammatically correct.
Oh, i don't know about that. I know a lot of bilingual people and they're pretty fluent. Most have better grammar than many Americans themselves even.
Yep, but you have to be in constant contact in the other language to remain fluent in it, because otherwise you might forget words, or perhaps the correct spelling of some rarely-used ones. I am bilingual myself, but I have still problems with some words sometimes.. the vocabulary will probably never be as big in english for me, because I don't live in english-speaking country. Now trying to learn japanese.. that's kinda difficult, I must say. Nihongo ga sukoshi wakarimas..

you have a point.
but learning individual, then placing together is sometimes difficult too.
you have to learn it both ways ^^
and for phrases , its easier to learn it this way :)

She has a great "japanese accent" in her "japanese english"... even though she's from America (hawaii) not Japan.. (I'm talking Ayaka.)
That's kinda cool!

ayaka was born in japan and then moved to hawaii when she was 12.

"To go to downtown" is technically right, but it just sounds really improper.

"What's the fastest way to get downtown?" is actually correct.
