I've watched dozens of K dramas, I avoided watching Bad Boy because of the sad ending, but I after getting some courage I watched it and I believe it is the bes Korean drama I've seen. This is my favorite Korean dramatic series. I wanted the ending to change, but Shim or Hyung wanted it to happen. I feel sorry for Shim or Hyung, but I feel sadder for the Father, he lost all his son, even the fake one. He still believes his real son will return. (sigh)

The ending is emotionally masochisting (not sure about the correct phrase ). Everything was so stupid. He left the loaded gun on the floor and the door open. He choses to leave the house and dye like a dog. He walked true the city and nobody did something about bleeding man who was crawling from time to time. The sister learned the address but nobody told her that he is her brother. He choses to protect her although if he lives he would judge her. So it wasn't necessary to protect her.

@nekkajitge if this is true, why did he wait so long to do his military service? He's already 30 and graduated from university. I thought that most koreans do their military BEFORE school, not to mention he's already pretty old. Seems strange.

@altroid4o I agree with most of what you're saying. However, I think he chose to protect her because he knew he was going to die. Regardless of whether or not the gunshot wound was fatal, I think Gun Wook still wanted to die. I mean, just moments before he was shot, he was on the verge of committing suicide. I think being shot made his decision a lot easier.

I just dont get why gunwook needed get his revenge,the guy had loving and rich adoptive parents and even managed to get an mba,and none of his childhood memories seemed to stop him from functioning normally,so y did he need to get revenge on the hong children,they didn't do anything to him and TS suffered so much more.He was taken from his real mom and abandoned by her and forced into an abusive family only to find out it was a lie,and then to be dumped by jaein was so sad.I really felt for him.

@misanthropikbunny Gunwook's stepmother kicked him out of his father's house because she can't stand the sight of her husband's mistress' child (Gunwook) getting the piece of the inheritance. She did that by falsifying the DNA test result to convince her husband that Gunwook isn't his real son. Then the stepmother tried to KILL Gunwook to get rid of all evidence of her wrong-doing. Gunwook was never abandoned by his real mother. His real mom and dad died on their way to pick Gunwook up.

I could not sympathize with the main character,and didn't care if he died.I mean his character had like 10 different personalities(wtf) and his revenge on the kids when the only culprit was the mother didn't sit too well with me.Taesung was the only character I cared about and no one even showed any real sympathy or care for him.He suffered more than gw imo,I mean gw was kicked out right?but he was adopted by rich parents in the US,while ts had to live in an abusive family his whole life.

Actually, Jaein truely loves Goonwook and was still wating for Gunwook to come back to her, not knowing that Gunwook decided to kill himself out of the guilt of exacting revenge on his REAL blood and flesh family after getting shot (not fatally, though) by his own sister, Mone, who he did seduce for his revenge.
