  • Being a parent I understand but given the nature of this adorable event I wouldn't mind. U can put my daughter ur cute kid event video anytime. :)

  • @DragPrincezz Thanks, Gorgeous. I totally agree with you - in fact, I spoke with the school yesterday about the possibility of introducing a completely no-go policy regarding photography and filming of events for this very reason. One honestly has no idea what legal, practical or cultural reasons a parent might justifiably have for not wanting/allowing their child to be photographed or filmed, yet identifying said family and requesting you not photograph or film their child...

  • @OzBudgetBeauty Might very well cause as many problems as the filming or photographing itself. The only way around it is to have a blanket ban, explain to all the parents in the school community why, and enforce it by ejecting people found to be filming or photographing on site.

It's a sad indictment on society, but too many schools have already introduced such a policy. Perhaps this one should as well.

  • @DragPrincezz Oh, and ironically - the school (in its newsletter) announced that they were making USB sticks available for borrowing, which contained random photos of the kids on stage at their annual concert... Any parent can take a stick, take it home, copy any images from that stick they wish, and do with them whatever they want. How is THAT not a double standard, or opening themselves up for complaint or litigation..!

  • @OzBudgetBeauty Doesn't sound fair at all. If your camera has the authority then well NO cameras have authority.
