If only car drivers would drive with the safety in mind like most motorcyclists. The sense of false security in a cage seems to make people think they can drive in an unsafe fashion. I don't have a motorcycle yet but do plan on getting one. When I drive I check my mirrors often and keep a very good awareness of my surroundings in front and back and on the sides. So far I have never had an accident in my driving history and I hope to keep it that way. Many close calls due to idiots though..

That happened to me in 2009. Dumbass came up on the right side to pass me when I was about to make a turn. I turned around and chased him down. He and I had words. I also have a 250. Cant beat the gas mileage.
use that camera to your advantage man. you should have chased him down and told him you got him on video ND were reporting him to the police, even if you never intended on it. chances are he might never pass a motorcycle like that again.
when i had my ninja 250r i got pulled up by the cops on a random check and i was on my restricted license which means your not allowed more than 250cc and the cops said that my 250 was a 600 and they wouldnt believe me and they gave me a fine of $200NZD and made me leave my bike were it was and they gave me a lift home and i had to get the guy from the motorbike shop that i brought it from to go and talk to them and well they said sorry and dropped the fines

first let me say, you seem to be one of the most level headed new riders Ive ever come across. You put alot of thought into everything your doing, good job. I just have one suggestion. Your lane position is a little dangerous, because it encourages drives to split the lane on you . Posses the lane, create a presence as a large as a car. This discourages cars from trying to split the lane with you. If you see a moron ride up on you like that, he will slow down, let him pass.

But I bought these mirror extenders from Twisted Throttle within a week of having my bike, and I absolutely love them. Youtube won't let me post the link on here so I'll have to PM it to you.

I would love to watch you eat! haha J/k as for the bike I have a tiger 1050 and a 150cc scooter and they are both fun to ride. it just depends on what type of ride ya want to do.. id you get doing a lot of touring you will want something a little bigger just because it is hard on a bike that small.. I would love to have a bike like yours and also like a KLR 650 but oh well maybe some day when I am rich
@kary1982v6 ironically enough, I plan on going to restaurants on my bike & reviewing them! I *ALMOST* got the KLR650 when I was looking. After sitting on it I decided it was too big of a bike for my first bike. I'm 6 feet & still wasn't comfortable on it. The ninja was WAY smaller and I felt like I'd have less of a chance of dropping it. Plus, the KLR isn't a great offroad bike and it's not a great street bike. But for both it's GREAT. Since I do 99% street riding, I saw no point in the KLR. :D

The drift HD170 was the only one I found that had an external mic plugin and I knew I wanted one for vlogging. Overstock had it on sale (the actual unit) for like $150 a while ago so I snagged it!

I was actually putting together a close calls video. IDK when/if I'll get it out. It makes me mad just watching it. We have the worst driving courtesy in California. The guy in the truck really needed to take a crap. I think you did the best thing by getting over. Having that truck behind you the whole time would have been more dangerous.
@Itsreload What's funny is this wasn't someone riding my tail and I got over so he could pass. This was someone who was hauling ass behind me, trying to get in front of me before his lane ended. He apparently thought he could make it before his lane ended. I saw him not slowing down, so I had to get over. He would have plowed right into me if I hadn't of moved.
@DigitalAquarius It's possible he had an emergency. However, if I hadn't moved into oncoming traffic, he would have plowed me over. If you watch the video again, there is no passing lane. His lane was ending. It was merging into my lane. By the time he had flown by me, his lane is gone. I had no other choice but to be rear ended, or get out of the way. I chose the latter.
i would do what mordeth said and sped up and got the plate of that guy cause you have it on video, the cops would have everything they needed. oh btw.. at 7:30 it looked like you had your right signal on and turned left haha..
@cow7ipper on the ninja 250 there is only a single blinker indicator regardless of it being the right or left blinker. It's just there to let the rider know your blinker is on.
Doesn't look like you got his plate number. You could have sped up and got it on vid. Then went to the nearest police department and pressed charges. You're in America where police actually do something most of the time.

i would do what mordeth said and sped up and got the plate of that guy cause you have it on video, the cops would have everything they needed. oh btw.. at 7:30 it looked like you had your right signal on and turned left haha..

@cow7ipper on the ninja 250 there is only a single blinker indicator regardless of it being the right or left blinker. It's just there to let the rider know your blinker is on.

Doesn't look like you got his plate number. You could have sped up and got it on vid. Then went to the nearest police department and pressed charges. You're in America where police actually do something most of the time.

Nice videos, I just got a Go Pro Hero HD and will have similar videos up soon, Crazy when that guy almost hit you. I wish the go pro had a mic input. Subbed.
