  • Mr. Magoo = God

  • Okay, who thought it'd be a good idea to get Magoo drunk?

  • i wish he smashed that bottle on that old bastards head HAHAHHA very funny though :D

  • piqnuice

  • Yup, you can still buy Stag in Missouri/Misery. I live in a small redneck town in MO and that's what 50% of them Drink. The other 50% drink MBL (Milwaukee's Best Light)

  • If he cant see how does he know where the beer is?

  • mr magoo made that beer himself even though he didnt know how to make beer, and thats y hes blind now

  • Mr Magoo loves an stag party...

  • Stagg looks so good on TV I can Almost Taste it LOL

  • that's amazing! i want some now! :) mmmmmm.....

  • mr magoo wasnt blind, he just had his beer goggles on!

  • if at least spongebob squarepants promote beer...

  • haha he turns on th tv and immediately bursts out laughing

  • -Later after the commercial was over Mr Magoo died of critical liver failure...-

  • @Crazylatinokid7 What is 'critical' liver failure?

  • @norscio Liver Failure thats....Critical??? (LIVER FAILURE HITS FOR 2000 CRITICAL HIT!!!)

  • @Crazylatinokid Thanks Sherlock. The point was if your liver fails, obviously that would be critical.

You still don't get it, I know. Don't worry about it. Go back to texting or whatever....

  • @norscio My apologies friend I didn't mean to make it sound like it was some sort of bad thing it was a joke you seem to not have understood it and went on to assume I was a materialistic joke of a teenager thats fine friend please continue on with how you treat people because your assumptions will always be correct even if you don't know who the person is on the other line but no you are correct you deserve the "Intelligence Badge" There you are friend now run along with your assumptions *Pats*

  • Wow! the only Stag beer that I know of came from Trinidad/Tobago. Can this still be the same beer?

  • Mr Magoo was entirely targeted at adults.

  • Love it!

  • Hey Mr. Magoo a nice joint would go really good with that beer.

  • I agree with Testo

  • What a hoot! Never saw that one. I vaguely remember hearing of Stag beer, never had it though.

  • My dad used to live on Stag.........and Blatz.

  • @hamtrak "My dad used to live on Stag.........and Blatz."

    No Duff?

  • bring back Magoo

  • need a drink? break and enter. been elecrocuted? have a drink. it's a vicious cycle.

  • I always thought Magoo's trouble was his eyesight, now I see he was always wasted on Stag beer !

  • lol yea but it looks like he's wandering around with his eyes shut too..

  • America used to have good stuff on tv. Now Its all scientific research to figure out what color, shapes, and sounds to throw at kids. I'd rather have this then the brainwashing on the tv now.

  • well, im 44, and to all the people that were getting involed with all the "safe tv ads" bullshit, you are the adults that were worrying about this shit instead of the child molesters and the rest of their gang that hurt and abused our generation. these "ads" didnt hurt us. we could have used your nosieness, if there be such a word, for better purposes for sure. dont cha think?

  • I don't know. I saw those cigarette and beer ads as a kid and it didn't damage me. There are far worse things to worry about than a commercial. It's up to the parents to explain to the kids re: such matters.

  • Oh liten.. Up crack me up all in your view & or opinion just Laugh its good for ya Brewsky anyone ?? Besides mr maggo oo came on before we were up if you can remember back that long !*!

  • Neither Magoo or the Flintstones were children's cartoons. The Flntstones was an adult show that aired at night.

  • what was so adult about it tho?

  • What the heck is sleezy about that you wussbag tool torquer self-tweaker! Magoo is a real American hero so back off you tea-tottling tea-bagging t-girl!

  • Comment removed

  • mr magoo watching the fish tank thinking its a tv, you crack me up you old dog

  • It's bad enoph the guy was blind. But now he's drunk to. A blind drunk Mr. Magoo. Hahaha.

  • hes all crack head over that beer at the end lmao

  • yes i got one right now

  • Excellent. I take three cases.

  • Does Stag Beer even still exist?

  • Why yes it does, I'm having a frosty one right now ;)

  • Oh brew me no brew with artificial bubbles, those carbonated beers of today... But Utica Club will still take the trouble to age... beer... the natural way! Utica Club - U.C!

Now name the singers of that jingle.

  • Both singers were Jonathan Winters, who played the voices of both Schultz and Dooley.

I live in the Mohawk Valley, New York State, and should know this one!

  • Help! My 7 year old cousin watched this and now he's a regular Stag beer drinker... If he sees Joe Camel, he will probably be a four-pack-a-day kid within a month... Kids always emulate cartoon characters. That's why we have so many kids jumping off of cliffs like Wile E. Coyote and sticking their fingers into gun barrels, like Bugs Bunny.

  • well if parents would set their kids straight it wouldn't be so bad tell him just because he sees them do dosn't me he does it like with games so some 9 year old kid plays GTA and steals a car where is the parent when this happens

  • yeah....this is true my friend

  • thank u finally someone with a brain

  • HELP, too!!! there's just so many kids sticking dynamite in their mouths!!! boys want to put dresses on rabbits!!!! HELP!!! kids wonder why the cat's no longer breathing after they've clobbered him with a mallet. HELP!!! HELP SOMEBODY!!!! Isn't it disgusting...OMG...kids are dropping anvils on mice and chopping cat's tails off...HELP!!!!! HOW AWFUL!!!!

now do you see how ridiculous and stupid all of those folks are by saying cartoonish violence is unsuitable for kids.

  • I dunno, ACcountryFan. Last week, my little cousin grabbed a boulder and jumped off a cliff! THank God there were some electrical wires below! They acted like rubber bands and he was shot back up to the cliff where he started! Damn roadrunners!!

  • Mr. Magoo wasn't blind. He was nearsighted

  • great premis for a cartoon- a legally blind guy gets into all kinds of hijinks because he can't see. funny!

  • People that are all up in arms about this and the Flintstones smoking commercial forget the fact that these were primetime TV shows in their day. And like the Simpsons today, they were not considered "childrens shows" at the time. No - these commercials were NOT being shown on saturday morning!

  • thanks for the comment!! i've been stressing this same thing for years. everyone today see's "cartoon" and they automatically think "kids" and that's why a lot of people have no idea that these cartoons were originally intended for an adult audience.

how people can be so ignorant to think TV producers were targeting children with these kinds of commercials is what's really sickening.

  • Magoo+ No Glasses+ drinking a case of Stag= Pure Inibriated Hillarity!

  • Oh, that Mr. Magoo! He's always confusing something for something else.

  • This is so innappropriate. Haha they didn't have any rules for TV commercials.

  • I don't thin alcohol was an "over 18" thing yet ;) now you gotta be 21 :D

  • poor kid. too young to remember when America was a free country.

  • haha it never was, america was established on slavery

  • Comment removed

  • to sublime95: most of the world was established on slavery. In fact there is a huge slave trade still going on in a few African countries. There are a number of humanitarian groups that specialize in buying africans "out of slavery" today in 2010

  • That's one effective commercial, now I want a Stag beer. Unfortunately I don't have any Stag, but I do have four Buds in the fridge now that I think about it.

  • Hard to imagine a time that a kid-friendly cartoon character known for driving while blind and forcing others off the road could be a TV spokesperson for any beer--and people laughed!

    by Ian Punnett

  • it's funny...it's a cartoon...get over your pc self and live a little.

  • correction...this character was NOT aimed at kids at the time of the commercial. children were not the intended audience for this cartoon...when MR MAGOO began airing in reruns in the decades that followed, kids naturally watched the cartoon episodes but there weren't any references to beer or anything. that was simply during the prime-time airing's of the cartoon when kids were suppose to be in bed asleep...it was a different time.

  • How old are these commercials?

  • probably early 60's o_0

  • can anyone say Wernicke Korsakoff's?

  • I miss the good ol' days before anal-retentive soccer moms whining about beer and cigs on TV! Jesus H, I remember seeing this stuff as a kid and I didn't start smoking OR drinking because of Mr Magoo tipping a cold Stag or Fred Flintstone firing up a Winston. If anything, cartoon commercials like this remind me of the Good Old American Republic when we were a hell of a lot freer than we are today! We are so pissy nowadays.

  • You got that right, InfiniteMushroom. It used to be free here. Now put your seatbelt on, okay?

  • fred smoked?! thats crazy!!

  • bahaha.

  • Who knew John McCain did beer commercials. IS stag beer the beer his wife owns?

  • Haha. That's hilarious - the resemblance is pretty uncanny.

  • In the 60's and 70's all my Dad drank was Stag and Blatz!

  • There is nothing precious like kids drinking massive amounts of Stag beer as an after school snack.

  • Yes kids, nothing like a Cool Stag Beer before and after school! LoL!

  • But ¿This is a Real Comercial or is a Joke for somebody? Its really funny

  • Stagg Beer was a regional beer from the early Sixties.

  • @ChunkyBoots - Just did a little research. Apparently you can still buy Stag Beer in Missouri and Illinois.

  • @danielnaranjo77 yea its real the flinstones had a cigaret comercial

  • Ha ha. Good stuff. Can't go wrong with Mr. Magoo.

  • Yeah, Jim Backus nailed that character right on the head. Always gets me laughing.

  • What was that giant robot that appeared after the last Stag Beer commercial. One of my favorite cartoon characters thanks for posting hadnt seen him in years!

  • at the end of each one everyone should be pissed at him but he is so cheerful about the beer that they all give in to it ha!

  • Oh yeah, nothing like watching a man almost being killed to make you want to drink. *shakes head* But I do have to admit, the last thing I'd want to do if I were that repairman was to give Magoo a beer.

  • the most awesome commercial i have EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRED LIFE .. so damn awesome .. its incredible

  • Its the bald little dude.. like mister magoo.

comin thru all in blue.. lookin cool with the crew.

  • If he electricuted ME, I wouldn't of poured that beer, I would of broke the bottle on his head! haha

  • Mr. Magoo is one enthusiastic beer drinker!

  • Haven't seen Magoo in ages. Fun!!

  • Don't forget those G.E. light bulb spots he appeared in a few years later....Magoo could "pitch" anything, as long as it was funny and in "good taste".

  • thats great

  • Blind and drunk.

  • You do realise they had cartoons shill for everything in the 50's, right? They were just amazed to see animations on TV.... Loved that last one, though.

  • chyeahhh Magoo

  • As a regular Stag drinker, I have to say that this is one of the greatest things I have ever seen in my life. Thank you, Johnny Vegas, for bringing this to my attention.

  • A regular? Do they still make this stuff?

  • Oh yeah! Every Wednesday night is Stag Night at Off Broadway in St. Louis. Dollar Stags and dollar PBRs. Let the Bud Light drinking fools pay full price for their beer flavored water.

  • On a Dr. Demento CD (20th Anniversary Collection), I heard a recording called "Delicious!" that Jim Backus did in his Magoo voice. He and an unidentified lady were getting high on champagne!

  • Hehh Hehh...My namesake! What a great little guy!

  • Damn I want stag beer

  • Oh, you Magoo. You did it again!

  • I think someone has a drinking problem

  • Watching this was awesome. It's too funny to see that things like that were done back in the day!

  • Holy Cow! Poor old Jim Backus... I think Mr. Magoo also hawked GE lightbulbs. And he had his politically incorrect housekeeper, Charlie ("Mr. Maglue!")
