The original STALKER sets the standard for the future of the FPS genre. My gripes are few but significant. I can tolerate the mirrored weapon models (except with non-ambidextrous bullpups) but the unnecessary cocking drives me nuts. You cock most of your weapons every time you pull them out! That's Halo crap! Doesn't belong in a sophisticated game like STALKER. And the more recent games in the series still have that. Substance must always come before style.
If they wanted someone to talk about stalker, and tells us what its all about, get someone from GSC.

well seeing as the majority of people play stalker because its post nuclear apocalypse based, and not jsut because it has a giant radioactive snowy ferris wheel in the background, kind of takes call of duty off the category. and fallout 3 doesnt capture realism at all. in a few hundred years, major radioactive evolution wouldnt take place. i havent any hint of how it works its just regular evolution didnt make man go ape to human in a day. so forget about monsters with 5 limbs coming after you.
@noobsmasher123 Your right about the fallout3 radioactive realism, but take in mind Fallouts radioactivity is based on 1960´s theories how radioactivity works, so scientists back then thought that radioactivity could evolve something like Super Mutants.

I go into wierd towns in the middle of nowhere... hate clearing out houses with pump action shotgun, fucking scary, you've got to look out for bloodsuckers. I went into a drain thing once and saw this wierd creature that pulled me towards it and pushed me away again. I think it caused brain damage... what was it? please message me
I think it is some sort of Psy Attack that it does to you, it screws with your vision and hearing and things doesn't it? I remember in the first game I only encountered that enemy once! That was almost more scarey than encountering it multiple times cuz after that I was thinking I was going to run into another one. They did a great job with things like that in the game, making an awesome scarey enemy and then not just spawing it all over the place like stupid.
You can check information about the monsters you meet in your PDA.
The easiest way to kill that monster is to walk up to it and stab it with the knife. No need to waste ammo on it, since its only visual effects until it actually melts your brain.
how many random towns are there? in Clear sky you cant really go anywhere cause of the map boundaries...the only town is Lamensk or whatever isn't it? ive never played Shadow of Chernobyl, only Clear Sky..there i think there is a town in clear sky, a little village somewhere, full of muties, and is HOT, and by that, i mean radioactive of coarse...coarse theres no women i nthe zone, so after a while, mutants do start looking hot..
Yes, it is a brain scourcher, and you can kill it better by ambush explosives. Or better use your binoculars to find where he is from a long distance, and sniper his big head with an ammor piercing round. When you start getting psy emisions, run away, it means he is near, running to it with a knife will get you killed on veteran difficulty...Works all the time for me on normal difficulty.

This game is very ralistic. Weapons are not very percise without aiming, if you bleeding but still your health is ok - you can bleed to death, if you walked over radioactive area your health is still decreasing long after if dont take care of it. And 50kg limit, would you be able to run, jump and shoot well even with 50kg on you? Of course taking the limit off would make life easier but much less real. Maybe we all shoud say no to reloading as well?

I think that they're kind of similar.
1.The story plays out when a nuclear disaster has occured.
2.Everything is destroyed
3.People and wildlife has been affected by the radiation in a grotesque way
4.The main quest is about searching for someone and is really long
5.Fallout 3 is an RPG with FPS elements, while STALKER is an FPS with RPG elements.
6.Both are freeroam games with interactive people/stuff
Conclusion : They are very similiar

I go into wierd towns in the middle of nowhere... hate clearing out houses with pump action shotgun, fucking scary, you've got to look out for bloodsuckers. I went into a drain thing once and saw this wierd creature that pulled me towards it and pushed me away again. I think it caused brain damage... what was it? please message me

I think it is some sort of Psy Attack that it does to you, it screws with your vision and hearing and things doesn't it? I remember in the first game I only encountered that enemy once! That was almost more scarey than encountering it multiple times cuz after that I was thinking I was going to run into another one. They did a great job with things like that in the game, making an awesome scarey enemy and then not just spawing it all over the place like stupid.

You can check information about the monsters you meet in your PDA.
The easiest way to kill that monster is to walk up to it and stab it with the knife. No need to waste ammo on it, since its only visual effects until it actually melts your brain.

how many random towns are there? in Clear sky you cant really go anywhere cause of the map boundaries...the only town is Lamensk or whatever isn't it? ive never played Shadow of Chernobyl, only Clear Sky..there i think there is a town in clear sky, a little village somewhere, full of muties, and is HOT, and by that, i mean radioactive of coarse...coarse theres no women i nthe zone, so after a while, mutants do start looking hot..

Yes, it is a brain scourcher, and you can kill it better by ambush explosives. Or better use your binoculars to find where he is from a long distance, and sniper his big head with an ammor piercing round. When you start getting psy emisions, run away, it means he is near, running to it with a knife will get you killed on veteran difficulty...Works all the time for me on normal difficulty.

If you want to play stalker and have alot more fun: USER MODS. mods make the game. (for example, raising the riduclous 50kg limit)

well if thats your opinion fair enough, but the game is widly regarded as far better when modded. (btw ingame 50kg is far to low in an RPG where the main way money can be made is with sold loot)

This game is very ralistic. Weapons are not very percise without aiming, if you bleeding but still your health is ok - you can bleed to death, if you walked over radioactive area your health is still decreasing long after if dont take care of it. And 50kg limit, would you be able to run, jump and shoot well even with 50kg on you? Of course taking the limit off would make life easier but much less real. Maybe we all shoud say no to reloading as well?

mod an xbox 360, get a 1200$ pc for 120$ run stalker smooth with all on full, but takes intelligence, patience and determination. plus you void your warranty but it isnt illegal. its worth five minutes of your time googling it.

I think this is a good scenario for a game, stalker is just not fully bugged out yet, still i want many many parts of it because you need to know exactly what happened, and by the way its the only place in the world where you can go but better not is chernobyl its perfect, go into the reactor: sure thing grab a rad suit and go thats it, its REALISTIC!!!! and very realistic by our time only on thing is not true, talk with me, i will gladly chat bout it!

its just sickening that the fact that games are made based on chernoybl, it makes my skin crawl. chernoybl shouldnt be used as recreational purposes, but only to teach and educate others of the suffering of the poor ukrainians that died and are still suffering from the effects, and also to teach that nuclear power- shouldnt be trifled with. anyways this game has my dissaproval plain and simple.

I don't think so Minato. But even today, children are born with more legs or hands, or with an enlarged head, without any legs or arms etc. because their parents got the radiation what was there. But I don't think there are any of those monsters there that are in the game.
