  • i have one for sale , dark blue daimler also double 6 and just for 3500 euro...need a little paint work but i dont have the time for it...netherlands, eindhoven!

  • Much beautiful one, is not of the 92 but 80-85

  • Great British car!

Luxury of a Rolls-Royce (almost!) with the sportiness of a Jaguar!

  • Doesn't fall much behind Rolls Royce. I'd love to own one.

  • @Muinaismuisto i own a 1993 six litre double six ,ive never owned a roller ,but guess if not the same just how better can it be?these are works of skill.i enjoy driving my daimler and are often diapionted at having reached my destination.the power and the grace.

  • ive had 20 jags they are simply the best

  • The best series 3 has got to be the 4.2- it's economical with the fuel injection (compared to the v 12's ! ) it's easy to work on, got loads of torque, fabulous pedigree and when you lift the bonnet it looks more purposeful than the 12 pot, (which appears to be "shoehorned "in...)

  • good choice of song!

  • engineering ingenuity! 5 stars

  • A lot of teenage muppets just won't get this car. I loved the Jag V12 when I was 15 and still love it 20 years later. I owned an Elise for 2 1/2 years and have just sold it. It was a shit car. Noisey, leaky, cold, steams up when it rains, bloody awful ride quality, understeers like mad until it suddenly spins out. What a load of bollocks. Cars like the Double Six will top out at over 140mph (Elise top whack 120mph) and will progressively oversteer when pushed. A very accomplished chassis.

  • and i heard the jag v12 is way more reliable than the toyota 4cyl

  • Well, I don't know if your tongue was firmly planted in your cheek when you wrote that!

  • Yeah, I don't understand how people can like plastic shitboxes like Nissans, Toyotas, Chryslers. Jags were made with love, and the build quality was fantastic. I'm probably going to buy an XJ6 as my next car. Considering the build quality and powerplant under the bonnet, they're peanuts for what you get as an overall package.

  • Agreed!!

  • Your comparing apples to oranges.

  • No I am not. I was comparing how well each car fullfils its own objectives. I've "normalised for design intent", if you will.

I think that the V12 Jag is a better performance luxury car than the Elise is a sports car. The Elise is great if you can afford it as a 3rd car but as an only car, it doesn't cut it.

    PS. It's "You're".

  • lol youy prove my point. Two cars were engineered with different requirements in mind.Jag is luxury and elise is sports. How is the elise meant to be a luxury car?? Its meant to be a lightweigh sports car.

Like i said apples to oranges. Why wud you buy an elise if you want luxury. Again why would you buy a V12 jag if you want to do trackdays.

And get a life trying to take a dig at my spelling. Im studying to be an engineer. We do maths not english.

  • Hah! I AM an engineer. Structural CAE to be exact. Nastran, Abaqus, ADAMS, NCode.

Us engineers DO take a dig at spelling/grammar because engineering makes one a pedant.

I've worked for both Lotus and Jaguar and so know how much engineering goes into each car.

The Elise was engineered to be a sports car but it still should have adequate ventilation, weatherproofing & reliability.

  • Well Im sorry i was born 3 years ago to be qualified.

But why would you buy an elise then compare it to a jaguar?

And iv heard pleanty about the elises fogging up and even freezing on the inside during frost. Did you not check out reviews before yout got one?

Personally i was going to buy a elise 6 months ago, but end up with a cosworth for practicality reasons.

  • And dont get me wrong i love jags for what they are, a luxury car. But i also love elises for what they are a lightweight sports car with no gimmicks.

  • A timeless, exquisite, elegant work of art-- curves, wood and chrome in all the right places. most cars nowadays look like spaceships

  • did you have to sell a lot of drugs to buy that???????haaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • let me guess, you're Black?

  • my neighbor has the double 6. its a lovely car --i love old jaguars --look at those lines

    -ali from pakistan

  • the old jaguars were the pinacle of exquisite elegance and style. since then they haven't been the same

  • I mean honestly...I dont know what happened. The new cars are nice but the qualıty and feel has gone down. Same with most other hıgh end cars lıke Mercedes --new ones are nıce but they lack character

    I have a 300D 1984 Benz, a 1971 280SE benz and a 1994 S420...they dont buıld em lıke they used to

sınce my last post, my neıghbour let me drıve the double 6. All ı can say ıs wow.

  • you're absolutely right. nowadays cars are too impersonal, and sterile and they all look like spaceships and clones of each other. the older cars are sturdier and have more character, and sleek elegance, with defined character

  • i agree, too much plastic for everything, plastic dash, steering wheel, even the door skins are plastic. i miss leather and vinyl, carpet and steel. old jags, old american trucks, and of course old mercedes

  • you took by far the best song to present such a beauty on 4 wheels ;)

  • Beautiful car, looks exceptionally clean. I have one almost identical. '91, Regency Red mica but it's without the 'Sovereign' front fog lights and no piping on the seats. And I replaced the standard steering wheel with a proper wooden one.

  • great video clip and I've rated it as five star. Please check out my clips on vintage motor car trading cards, 1920s-1950s.

  • you suck!!

  • Stunning Daimler. The interior is the last statement in Connolly leather craftsmanship. These cars are exquisite.

  • hahahaha, COEN, KOOP TOCH EEN SUPER EIGHT!!!!

    goedkope rotzooi...

  • Top track for the car.

    Top car.

    Engine - Radford, Coventry.

    Car - Browns Lane, Coventry.

  • It is amazing how long that basic body design stayed in production for! (1968-1992) - That example would be literally one of the last of the Series 3 ever made!

  • are you selling it if u are let me know i would love to have a jaguar daimler in the us.
