This is a prime example of the general misunderstanding of what "sparring" is most Bujinkan practitioners display. What was happening in this video was compliance with a bit of randomness thrown in. The ground work was also terrible. My advice is to go learn ground work(and striking) from a MA that actually has a track record of working.

I would like to point out that there are a lot of professional boxers and thai boxers who dont spar. they work on live technical drills and leave fighting to the ring

@popasmuerf THanks for the encouragement. Sorry if Swedish isnt your first language but this short demofilm included katatraining, free shiai, randori with ceratain limitations, some other free work. Funny you would comment on the ground work. There is like a half second of it and biggest part is with a guy going for a takedown (what you dont know is that he does BJJ too and tried to use it in that friendly fight). Dont be too quick to pull the trigger...
