we can agree that although not one of the wealthiest countries in the world, we can still bring it - with our culture and landscapes. we have a lot to offer to the world and I wish more people knew about us. I have people asking me where Portugal is which I find shameful of their part and that maybe we need to do a lot more for ourselves as a country.
Portuguese people have always, always been hard working people! There is a joke in Rhode Island that when you walk down the street and 'smell bleach that is where the portuguese live'. The women clean not only their homes but the stairs and sweep the sidewalk too! The men are hired quickly because they are known to be hard workers. When the announcer says come be lazy he is talking about people to come on Vacation and 'be lazy' to relax! Not the country is lazy.

we started the world discovering time..while the English and the spanish were puting sticks in each others asses Portugal was already the owner of an Inimaginable richness(everyone follow us then) if it wasn't Portugal no one would have the ambition to explore the world (!!!how lazy can we be)
The Greeks were once the most civilised peoples, greatest thinkers and mathematicians in Europe. Rome once ruled over most of the continent.
That too is the past.
The Portuguese are just as lazy as any other nation. They just have a different approach to life, as with many other southern european nations. There's nothing wrong with that.

Mas a merda dos EUA, consegue ter menos pobreza, melhores universidades e melhor Justiça que Portugal, Menos analfabetismo, menos iliteracia, mais cultura de trabalho... é um país muito vasto, cada estado americano é como se fosse um país diferente, e muitos estados americanos são bem mais desenvolvidos que a Europa. Não tenhas preconceitos. Vai a Boston ou Nova Iorque, pode ser que mudes de ideias.
