  • Studying WWII is a hobby of mine.

I think this is a very fine overview of Ernie Pyle! Pictures, music, and narration all fit together and told an interesting story from beginning to end.

Congratulations on winning the awards you did in Maryland and in the US. You earned it!

  • Its obviously a young kid, but if you could actually read, you might see that in the info.

  • I got to know the writings of E.P. when I studied anglistics at the university of Dortmund, attending a class named `The art of the war-correspondant`.

Luckily our prof. was a former vietnam-veteran who could estimate the reports from first hand. Let me assure you that his name is well-known and his work appreciated - even here in Germany - at least today.

Since he's been credited by far more capable tongues than mine I would just like to thank you for having posted this tribute.

  • So VERY glad to see this terrific tribute to my 1st cousin. With all the accolades due him, perhaps he would be MOST proud of the lasting impact of the "Ernie Pyle Bill" passed by Congress in May 1944 granting extra pay to frontline combat troops now days known as "hazardous duty pay". The National Columnists Day is in honor of his death on April 18th. Hasbro credits Pyle's "Story of GI Joe" inspired the naming their famous action-figure "GI Joe". Sadly so few today remember him. Thank you!

  • greatly appreciated, informative and a great job, thanks for posting
