  • How did you teach him to park? I am training two 3 year olds and i want them to be able to park out for shows:) thank you!! He's so responsive! Great job

  • just started clicker w/my horse last week. AMAZING results and changes. He's gotten so light to touch it's crazy. Most valuable, it is taking a great relationship to new heights. Hooray clickers!!

  • Yes! Hooray for positive reinforcement and bridge signals! It is amazing how much my relationship with my horse changed once I started doing clicker training.

  • I was going to ask if you were using a clicker after watching video...I use with dogs..marker trainer is very cool...you are doing a great job! Nice...

  • @guyrichmond7 Yes, I use the clicker! I use it on my dogs too. I just started clicker training 5 weeks ago and I love it! Thanks!

  • You probably know about Karen Pryor, "Don't Shoot the Dog"...a great book on clicker training...a whale and porpoise trainer taught me about using a pointer with a clicker...have you heard of this or done it with your horses?

  • @guyrichmond7 YES! I first read Karen's book, Reaching the Animal Mind and was hooked! I just finished reading Don't Shoot the Dog! I loved both books! Those actually are the only two clicker books I have read! I am trying to get Lads Before the Wind, her other book. I love clicker training!

  • The pointer is cool...you use a pointer and teach the animal to touch it with it's nose...hold the pointer in front of the nose and wait, when it touches it then click and give it the treat...once fluent then begin to move the pointer around to get the animal following or teach it to touch other objects by putting the pointer on them...I taught my dog to do a building search with this technique...very cool! I'm sure there are some applications with horses where it would be very effective!
