  • please give me the name of the game on 1:43

  • omg......year are passing by.......where i can find this awesome song????(its from an atari game or intro but i cant remember ...)

  • FANTASTIC!

  • awesome, my favourites from this list are polar piere (best multiplayer!) and zorro

  • ur vids are so cool, i remember many of those games, i wish i had never given away my atari 400...didn't u show the game Zombies?

  • damn... i have a tear in my eye :)))

...Zorro was one of my favourites - i finished it a 100 times...

  • Thanks for flashback! Does anyone know a name of the game at 1:39-1:42?

  • What is the game called at 1:43?

  • That takes me back. I used to produce 800XL and Dragon 32 games back in the day. I even found some old tapes and managed to get them to work in an EMU a few years ago. Some titles were not released. I may still have the .cas files

  • @unity1yt What games did you work on? What are those unreleased games?

  • @1xWertzui

'Harry' range of games for dragon 32 released by Libre software in the UK. Sadly these are now all long lost. Most notable was Harry the headbanger which was a breakout clone where the bat was two guys with a trampoline and the ball being harry who would sumersault up to take out the wall. Harry goes bananas where you had to collect bananas from the trees before they fell to ground avoiding spiders, ponds etc

I have a cas file that works with Altirra of 'Wizard Castle'.

  • @unity1yt Thanks.

  • I think it should be "Captain Beeble" and not "Beagle."

  • If this system was coming out this year I would freakin buy it. I actually have it but cant find the games anywhere even ebay. These games are much better than the modern stuff. 1983-1993. The best decade in video game history by a HUGE margin. Also, what is that gorgeous music from?

  • You can try to play these games (and other Atari classic games) online at atariland.spb.ru

  • 60 Best Super Nintendo (SNES) Games video is now live - check it out through my channel!

  • Joust, Miner 249er, and Missile command are my top 3 favorite games of all time!!! (closely followed by ES Oblivion, which would be number 1 if it wasn't for nostalgia)

  • Choplifter....gotta love it....I saved em all :o)

  • Where is 22 years of mylife? :(

  • I stopped the video on the first game and had warm memories. Ali-Baba and the 40 thieves was an awesome game. IMHO, better than Heracles which followed it.

  • i had an atari 65 xe but it never hardly worked.i think centipede was the only thing i ever got to load on it and there was only about three games released on it or so it seemed at the time.i was only about 11 i think..this music is amazing and the games look cool.

  • 3:21 spy hunter just amazing game

  • you didn't mention every game from video. what is that game between congo bongo and dan strikes back 0:44 - 0:48?

  • @lenus954

You are correct, my bad. The game in question is Crystal Raider.

  • Hey subj1, did you use an emulator to make your (very cool) videos? If so, which one, Atari800WinPlus? If so, I was just wondering if you might be interested in doing a little online retro gaming sometime? The emulator I mentioned (if you use it, you probably know) has Kaillera Client support. There is also MAME, CCS64 & NEStopia. I'm always looking for new online retro gaming friends, but it's VERY hard to find people interested in online classic gaming. Let me know? Thanks! :-)

  • @gjc82071

I used Atari800WinPL v4.0, and I have all the Emulators you mentioned along with complete ROM collections for each. I also collect original retro games as I have large collections of boxed and loose NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, Atari 8-bit, C64, PS2/PS3/NGC/Wii/Xbox/Xbox 360 titles. Sure PM me and we can arrange an online session, haven't tried playing retro games online yet (other than MK2 on PS3)

  • @subj1 Sure, whenever you like. Setup is easy & reliant only on us both having identical emulator/ROM versions. So you are into TOSEC/Goodsets (full rom sets) too, eh? I have like 40 emulators & well over 50,000 ROMs. I also have 16 retro consoles & about 200+ assorted, loose & some boxed carts. I think my collection may be a bit more vintage than yours. More late 70's, early 80's systems (Atari Ultra Pong (pre-2600 console), Magnavox Odyssey, Fairchild Channel F, Bally Astrocade, etc)

  • Oh my God...memories....memories........Atari 800xl.....memories...kids...now 31 and the world is on fire.....those days 11-12 and playing like a mad....:))

  • @kogiaka Do you still play? When it comes to retro/classic/vintage gaming, I could never survive on "memories" alone!, hahaha :-)

    Thank god for emulators, eh?

  • Whats the game at 3:30 - 3:33?

  • Third and final video of the Atari 8-bit tribute trilogy is now live ! Check it out through my channel

  • music warhawk:)

  • Are there any text or graphical or point'n'click games for the Atari 8-bit?

  • What is that game at 2:00 thx?

  • ball blazer 2 player, burned many a candle on that

  • Thanks for the vid. I get so nostalgic when I see them again after such a long time. I've got some suggestions for instalment 3!

Here's my quick list of titles: Necromancer, Drelbs, Preppie, Astro Chase, Goonies, Zeppelin, Racing Destruction Set.

Was there also a game called Air Raid? It was a split-screen side scroller where you had to bomb your enemy with your plane. I remember the controls were quite tricky and would love to get hold of it again.

  • these 2 videos were great...i thin kthe next rainy weekend ill dig my still working 130xe and disk drive out and hook it up....i have the benefit of having an up-scaler so i can use it at 640x480 on a pc monitor and pc speakers

  • Another cool vid! I spotted Whomper Stomper in there which had speech synthesis in it if I recall!

  • Cant remember the game the title music is from and its anoying me

  • @Ni5mo1

    Its from warhawk

The music was writen by rob hubbard, a genius at compuer music back then!!

  • I was wondering which games on the list are cart based. I forgot the command to load disk games.

  • Have you seen the video of Tempest Xtreme for the XL and XE line. It looks and sounds amazing, the music still sounds like the music from the Jaguar version and even has the same voices. It is in my Atari 8-bit playlist and on my main page.

  • The game with outstanding 3D pseudo graphics from 2:13 to 2:16 is Stealth. This game is not listed in game list.

  • @SpiderET

it is listed - it is also known as Landscape

  • @subj1 Landscape was just a demo version of Stealth

  • so many games i missed...

  • Whomper Stomper was a goodie!

  • I remember that "Landscape" totally blew me away the first time I fired it up on my 800XL. Thanks for posting this.

  • We had an atari when i was a teenager, i remeber these games so well lol

  • What is the at 0:36????

  • @mankodax

    Cohen's Towers

  • Whats the game at 0:36????

    Excelente compilacion de juegos......

  • You can turn on color on seemingly black and white titles (like Hard Hat Mack was displayed) by turning on artifacting. CTIA mode for NTSC and GTIA mode for PAL

  • Awesome - Does anyone know 1:36 - 1:37 ? That game was awesome !

  • Gateway to Apshai

  • 2:15

Holy crap. That game looks almost 16-bit quality.

  • @bigpoopie69 stealth

  • Still too many missing great games. Buried Bucks, Encounter, Oil's Well, Jr. and Super Pac Man, Zenji, Ultima III and IV, Alternate Reality City and Dungeon, Zone Ranger, and yet others I can't think of off hand all deserve a spot in a video like this. I'd make my own if I could....

  • The helicopter game is "Fort Apache," don't know about the green dragon. Will find out later if I can.

  • 1:17 Qbert (I think)

    2:00 Joust

2:49 had it, but no way I could remember that one!

    3:18 Spy Hunter

3:40 also had it, but forgot it

  • well damn close bro, but its not Tomahawk, it was very simulated helicopter game, you use the keyboard to start off the helicopter and to take off, then you press the Joystick button again to move forward. then you go ahead and you shoot down some airplanes, when you get hit, there is damage, and the controls of the helicopter becomes more difficult. it was a very interesting game

  • can anyone tell me what is the name of this helicopter game, like apache helicopter, when you have to start the helicopter with the keyboard, it was kind of simulated old school apache game, it was awesome. and also there is another game, when you have a green flying dragon goes around and you have to collect eggs back to your cave, and you push the button in order to fly, do you have any chance knowing these two games? thanks bro

  • Tomahawk for the helicopter game ??

Don't know about the dragon though

  • 0:10 Quest for Tires, 1:17- don`t know the name! help me pls! :(, 1:30 Gremlins, 1:44 Hero, 2:00 - don`t know the name! help me pls! :( , 2:03 Kikstart, 2:31 Pacman, 2:49 - don`t know the name! help me pls! :(, 3:18 - don`t know the name! help me pls! :(, 3:40 - don`t know the name! help me pls! :(, 4:00 Zorro - Best games in this compilation :)

  • Hi! I began to play with the ATARI 800XL. thanks for this video.

From wjch game comes this music?

  • warhawk

  • Excellent !

Why don't you try to make some video reviews of these games ?

  • After Congo Bongo and before Druid, there appears to be 2 games, but only Dan Strikes Back is listed. Which of the 2 is DSB and what is the other game? Thanks! Great videos!

  • First one is Crystal Castles, second one is Dan Strikes Back

  • What the name of the games at, 0:10, 2:03, 2:35?

    ThnX

    Kikstart

    NYC: The Big Apple

  • Hey, nice compilations :)

I've made my own tributes for the atari games too.

Check them if you want - in my profile - called Atari Memories :)

    Cheers

  • memories!! Thanks for the video!!!

  • I had a look, some I'd never seen.. interesting. rescue on fractulas is probably easiy my fav.. or hacker.. there is 2 games you missed maybe "orc attack" and errm a space game by english software that was ROCK to play.. tape loading was the reason I went c64.. atari was poor like that , and getting the games in the UK was a joke.. there are a few more zeppelin games (makers of zybex) which are nice also.

  • Wow, I liked your first 60 best Atari 800 games, and this one even better. As a 80's reject, Awesome

  • great vid and nice collection, i just wish the games didn"t switch so fast...

  • If you used an emulator for this footage, you could have turned on "artifacting" for Hard Hat Mack, and Stellar Shuttle. It would made the footage colorful. Back in the days that TV's weren't as high resolution as they are now, those stripy patterns turned into colors. Specially american software used this "feature".

  • Good point - back in the day I played these games on a relatively modern PAL TV and witnessed them as black and white. But turning on artifacting does bring out colors.

  • I used to love Flip and Flop. Worth watching for the Warhawk music
