@beingaleaf Cornwall was at one time a country, has it's own language, and was taken over by force by the English. They are not officially recognised as a country like Ireland is, but many who live there would call themselves Cornish before British.
If the majority there really wanted independence and their own government etc, we could get it
i'd be amazed if the Nine Stones, or indeed any Cornish stone circle west of The Hurlers had any more or less than 19 stones originally. every complete stone circle i've visited from Dartmoor to Land's End has had 19, except for The Hurlers.
@TheDanishCodega Yes, that's right you are also part Swedish :) I have 2 sisters from N. Ireland and I just adore the nature up there unfortunately it has been 8 years since I've visited :( :D
@TheDanishCodega Oh you lucky thing! My boyfriend did the same thing, he spent half a year travelling around the world. He says some day he will go again and take me with him :) hehe
@TheTempleofNature I think it was H.C. Andersen who said to travel is to live and it really is. I'm a poor student but I've been able to gather some moneys together and travel to Australia and to the states. I quickly feel stuck if I don't pack my backpack and go. :) U should go - It's so worth it. Find some cheap hostels. U could also do the WWOOF-thing if u don't mind working from place to place. I did that also and it was an amazing experience and you meet so many wonderful people.
@TheDanishCodega Yes I think I am a traveller at heart. Money is a little tight right now though. :/ I think I am going to move house again soon. What I love most about travelling is letting go of your material possessions and realising that you don't really need stuff. :)
@TheTempleofNature Pulling an Alex Supertramp is the best ;) I know money is the big problem for me too. It's so annoying when it stops u from doing a lot of stuff, huh. But moving into a new house sounds great though. I wish I could do the same instead of living in this awful apartment lol.
Darn! I want a Cornish Pasty now. I may explore South Australia's Celtic and Cornish links. Most of them came as copper miners in the late 19th early 20th century.
Fantastic video Annika from Cornwall. Did you get a chance to visit Lands End or the old Tntagel Castle ruins? Love the charming song at the end ..... :)
what a lovely video.thank you

This is really fascinating! I've wanted to start expanding my Celtic knowledge past Ireland for a while, so this was a good starting point ^.^

@mumsthewitch Very awesome. Cornwall is absolutely littered with old tin mines. It's kind of sad really. I used to be a massive industry.
