I love Corsica very much and I think the people are very friedly, I had no negative experience, even if my french was so bad.
About the fight France or Italy. For a foreigner it is a perfect melange between both countries and still something very unique. I think the corsian people should decide in a referendum if they want to belong to France or Italy , maybe they prefer to be an independent nation. I don't know, I heard very different opinions from people I met during my stay.
