Are these man puerto rican?I heard it once.They are black american but i heard that they were from Puerto rico?Is it true?I liked a lot their rythms and songs however in the 80's and 90's.
Mother is African American and father is White of French Ancestry. They lived in Detroit, MI, first and then moved to Grand Rapids, MI, where they finished being raised. There is a documentary called Unsung on TVONE about the Debarges. So no, they are not Puerto Rican.
@fisteberg The Debarge siblings are French Canadian (father) and African American (mother). A lot of people thought they were Puerto Rican because their mother was married to a Puerto Rican man.
@carnellbab - I don't think you'd really want to marry him as he continues to have substance abuse issues as evidenced by his relapse early in 2011. There are some women in my neighborhood however, that would marry just about anyone who's "light skin did" with "good hur". LOL
