90's rap is what 70's was to R&B. We look back at it like WHAT THE FUCK HAPPEND?? Back in the 90's from the West to the East you had real rap albums that had zero hooks and no silly R&B singers. I think what changed it was when R&B singers started getting hip hop producer to do there beats giving them an edge they didnt have. Then rappers started having singers on there songs(Method Men and Mary J) and it slowly started to merge. Like with anything hard core rap will come back.
