Microsoft vista black screen start up

to fix it open task manager and start a new task called explorer.exe and it will all come back on.i hope you take my information properly. and to open task manager press ctrl-alt-delete (without the lines)

I have a vaio laptop & the same thing happend to me this morning! but I was using regedit & was deleteing some unwanted files & then all of a sudden I went back into youtube & it said i need to download anobe or whatever it is to view vids on youtube then closed my laptop & opened it blank screen :( did I delete something or did I get a virus?

try usind ctrl+alt+del and then, then type run program and write there explorer.exe

Its a virus that disables explorer.exe from being enabled at start-up.

Explorer.exe allows you to do everything, so its basically your desktop,

try booting up your computer then press f8 on the loading bar a screen will pop up then click on Last known good configuration settings like the 6th option down this should work if it is a software problem and not your hardware

Ironically, the black screen of death occurred the morning after I emailed a friend NOT to get a HP computer. Now, isn't that scary? I woke up, turned on my computer and there it was. I turned the computer off, put it in safe mode, took off my password, restart it, and before the black screen came on, I hit ctrl-alt-delete and that helped get the screen off somehow. You can google black screen death and you'll find some programs to get rid of it for good.

well this screen recetly is new thats what i found out and its terrible so im warng if its real bad you guys are gonna have to get a new computer and make sure its a MAC

instead of Ctrl Alt Del, hit Ctrl SHIFT Esc to immediately bring up the Task Manager. From there, try running a new instance of Explorer.exe (kill the one running too)..
