  • $315.00 nzd per card lul i now own 2 :D

  • I am trying 2 connect 2x XFX radeon 6870. Done what u have done connected it, and when I log my computer and start it I go to the Device managment and it only finds 1 and when I plug 1 DVI cable in each card it only launch the screen thats connected 2 the PCI -E slot 1 My main board is ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme! I have just connected them do I need any driverss or something in the BIOS ?

  • My MSI motherboard requres me to install the card in two specific PCI-E slots when I operate them crossfire. Check your owners manual. Also how powerful is your power supply. I would guess it would behave a little differently if the power supply was the issue. Check the slots though

  • @arinini99 did u use the crossfire bridge to connect the two, or did you just hook 1 in 1 slot and one in another..

  • @arinini99 u need the bridge

  • How loud are these?

  • Thanks, I really wish there were more details. The charts are not very detailed and the only thing I learned was they run cool (which is good to know, but how cool?) What kinda amps are these things pulling together?

For PSU concerns google extreme outervision psu calculator.

BTW, I run one with a Antec NEO ECO 400C 400W PSU, which has a 30a 12v rail. It runs no problem. I am getting a 750w 62a 12v PSU for crossfire.

The 6870 also needs two PCI-E 6+2pin power connections

  • Hey man. Thanks for all the videos. I have a quick question...

I'd like to CrossfireX an Asus 6870 with a Gigabyte 6870, do you foresee any problems with this??? (All the other hardware is brand new, but I wont splurge on anything above 6870's)

Also, the real problem here is that the Asus 6870 is out of stock, so I might get a Gigabyte for starters.

    Thanks for any input.

  • Just to let you guys know the box states 600w for crossfire...so 1000w is definitely overkill. 750 would be fine.

  • This guy used to blink, then he took an arow to the eyes

  • how much power i need for crossfire those??

  • @mindharvester I'd recommend a 1000W PSU, but you might get away with a little lower, but I wouldn't risk it.

  • @iJordan1811 Are you serious ? 1000W .... more like 750W and I'm really serious about that.

  • @L0verm4n Yes but just one alone requires a 500W (Recommended) and I know initially 1000W is probably overkill but it future proofs you a little bit, plus PSU's degrade and lose their efficiency over time.

  • @iJordan1811 750-850w ul be good :)

  • @mindharvester 750w -850w :)

  • @mindharvester Use a PSU calculator. Just do a search I'm sure you can find one easy online. For my setup which includes 2 6850s in crossfire it recommened 650w power supplies. I ended up going with a seasonic 750w tho just to have a little extra room.

  • if you have a xfx radeon 6870 card can you only crossfire it with another 6870, but you can use anny other brand?

  • @TSDlazynes anyone but look that it has the same clock speed (is not factory overclocked)

  • @TSDlazynes as long as it says 6870 your in good shape

  • HA! I got 2 Asus (Ay-Suss) Radeon HD 6870 cards running through CrossFire for £170/$266!

  • @flashygap HOW :O

  • @flashygap Where?

  • Fuuuuuucking BLINK man.... lol

  • You look like my football coach

  • What happened to the music???

  • why make this video if you are going to compare it only to worse card configurations??? Surely you should have a 6950 single/ crossfire or a gtx 580 single or somthing?

  • This video is useless if we don't know what for CPU it has. Because a bad CPU will bottleneck >.>

  • @GamerSpaceHD LOL IT SAYS IN ALL OF HIS VIDEOS EXPECT THIS ONE 990x EXTREME

  • Im now running 2 of these cards, Exact model only HIS branded, 16gb or memory, a 125 watt CPU thats now pulling just about 140 watts, 5 HDD, and 4 120mm 3000RPM fans, and Under load, FULL load, all combined only pulls 330 watts. 750 is sufficient. The thing you need to worry more about is quality, and 12v rail specs.

  • ji po llas¡¡ 2 tar getas metelas en el cu looo¡¡ barbudo

  • I have a 6870 xfx dual fan edition i want to max battlefield 3 next Tuesday. should i upgrade to a 6970 or crossfire 2 6870's and keep the 6870 i have mine is a 1gb card if i get a 6970 it will be a 2gb edition

  • @SuperRiguy if you wait till jan/feb you'll be able to pick up a 2nd 6870 for ~$120. the 7 series should be released early next year so expect those cards to take a nice drop in price. ofcourse the 69xx's will still stay a little more expensive for a bit longer regardless.

  • @SuperRiguy kinda of a huge price difference

  • @SuperRiguy you shouldnt even need two cards? I was able to run BF3 on ultra with 1 HIS 6870 1gb, with the thing BARELY OC'ed, the specs they put out aren't very accurate. The little "rate your system" thing wasnt accurate at all. Said my system couldnt play it because of the GPU and CPU, and the CPU is a 1055t x6 2.8ghz OC'ed to 3.8ghz...youll be fine. how much RAM do you have? im currently maxed at 16gb

  • @Eisenheim1234 Im Maxed at 16gb

  • How i can use two ati in crossfire??? what i need?

  • @fxbian2010 2 ati cards crossfire cable

  • @fxbian2010 You need a mobo that supports 2 16x PCIE slots (or 8x 8x not as fast though) - An 800 watt power supply and a crossfire link cable. Better start saving now, Lol

  • @fxbian2010 You need two cards with the same GPU,compatible motherboard, powerful power supply.

  • microstutter

  • @dxproductions100 nonono lol dont trust them, 6870 requires only 650 even with crossfire mode, 750 is 6950 or 6970

  • @dxproductions100 i run with 650 and doing corssfire and slightly overclocking and im doing great.

  • The back of your head is overheating !! There is to much firework going on in your head !

  • this card woks nice in my 08286

  • yeah i can actually run a pair of these on a Corsair TX650 V2 (but i have a heavy overclock on everything) so i don't want to over stress my psu. as power consumption increases parallel with clock speed and exponential with voltage.

as i am using a corsair TX750 V2 i could of gone with a TX650V2 and would of worked... but it would be such a close call..

  • radeon ftw

  • Am I able to run two of these cards (6870) on a Corsair 650 watt PSU?

  • Friend think that master coller source Epode d 500-pro silent wat is sufficient for a configuration,,, a shappire 1g 6870 256 bit GDDR5 and a 545 X2 phenom II DVD 3g 4g memory motherboard is ddr3.la a biostar ta790gxa3 +

  • Will it play runescape? lol

  • When making crossfire reviews, he should try different combination of chipsets such as 790FX, 890FX, 990FX to lower class chipsets which support 16x / 8x or 8x / 8x

  • GTX 460 or Ati 6870??? :S

  • @amgtreo 6870 by far. i would compete 6870 with a 560 but if u crossfire 6870 it can run better than a 580

  • @mrmrsharp that is the question :D xD

  • Would two 6870's be better than one 6970?

  • @Kellett4 Yes

  • @Kellett4 yep. but if you save some more and get two 6950's and unlock them to 6970 that would be total bad ass for just a little more

  • I am running 2 6870's with 650W PSU, no problems.

  • @L0ll13M1X "I am running 2 6870's with 650W PSU, no problems" i am worry about a i5 2500k with them on a 800w silver 80+

  • @ffab101p121 I have Phenom II 955 BE @ 4,0 GHz.

  • @MrSexycookie It's good for the recent games. But there is better ones out there.

  • is one of these good? like having only one?

  • @MrSexycookie only one? it doesn't quite cut it..

  • HD 6870 CFX consume 449W,exactly like gtx 480.

    Conclusion:750W it`s enough.

  • Why does every video say 1920x1200?

  • @drakesHD humm, because maybe they test it in a 1920x1200 resolution monitor?

  • if anyone has this setup+ a i7 2600k cpu please message me or comment saying how it works

  • @MrDeadashell I have i7 2600k and 2 6970's and it works great so this should too :)

  • hmmm wait im confused with the heaven benchmark is the score what its minimum fps was?

  • would ditching my 5870 for two of these be a good move? I think so, in time for BF3 and Skyrim anyway so I have about 4 months

  • @xxsolidsteelxx im using 2 of these for bf3 =)

  • @tanaii1 Hmm... that was one option I thought of, maybe a 6950 unlocked to a 6970. With a Phenom II X4 965 what would you do? I am going to most likely reseat my CPU Cooler as its gets a little hot right now and BF3 is gonna make it roast, then see if I can overclock the 3.4GHz to somewhere around 4GHz I could probably hit 4.1GHz cause I have the 125w model. Along with 8 GB of memory what GPU/GPU's should I do, put into account I have a TX750W PSU so 5870 Crossfire is the most I could do.

  • Can a crossfire be done between a XFX 6870 & A Visiontek 6870, will it perform lesser than a XFX & XFX or Visiontek & Visiontek Crossfire?

  • @wyzco the brand doesnt matter, only thing matters that it must be the same gpu

  • How does he not blink!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!

  • I picked up 2 of these for $149 each at Canada Computers Mississauga grand opening last weekend. And yes, they are as fantastic as they appear. Look here: /watch?v=WVOn4LBZE2Y

  • I can get 2 x AMD 6870 cards for $399. Are they as fantastic as they appear?

  • I'm thinking about doing crossfire but I'm afraid that my modo will limit it from happening

  • LOL at the comparisons. 2 video cards are better than 1? No shit!

  • has he had his eyelids surgically removed?.... HE NEVER FUCKING BLINKS!!!!

  • If anyones got a brain then your buy 2 x 5850 for £107 each bargain.

  • 27sec... crosffire........ mode

  • seems like the cam is too high

  • kann, oder will er nicht blinzeln?

kein wunder, dass man da so rote augen bekommt

  • Could 2 6870's work with the m4a89gtd pro usb3.0 motherboard? Also, does the corsair 850tx have enough power for 2 of these cards?

  • @TheNewbpowner123 yes, ive read you only need 500 watts for both of them

  • @LethalScooby I'm running 2 of these on a 650 Watt PSU and they run fine. They are equivalent to the GTX 470 in price/performance but they run cooler and require less power. Compared to a GTX 470 SLI, you will save 200 Watts total (oh and a quieter case).

  • @mbernardo123 yeah i picked up another one about a month ago. Great performance. Its kind of embarrasing that my xbox is louder.

  • Blink man ! Blinking is very healthy proccess for eyes ;) .By blinking you increase amount of water in your eyes , and you see better etc. Also one blinking while playing games is very good . Btw. awesome review as allways !

  • Look's like dual 6850's it is. The difference between that and 2 6870's is neglegable.

  • mr. iron eye

  • I'd prefer to Xfire a pair of 6990's when they actually release!!

Should be awesome on triple 30" displays :)

  • @IIMultimediaMasterII Ok thanks :)

  • Can I have one please?

  • can my phenom ii x4 965 be runs at stock speed(3.4ghz) do crossfire 6870??

will the processor bottleneck if i did not oc the processor??

  • @phenom2965be No, your processor will not be a bottleneck. It's a current model processor, top end of AMD just a little over a year ago. Besides, most processing is done by the video cards on games, since games are so graphics oriented.

  • So, what's best two of these or one 6970?

    (2x XFX 6870 "BLACK" or 1x XFX 6970)

  • Hi,

Did you run the Nvidia cards in SLI configuration ?

  • Watch his neck.

  • I wish i had 10 million dollar.... to buy high ennnnnnnd PC... and 3D tv ... and chicks... and cars... and mansions

  • @3blufire Just dream dude :D

  • @XxGastonQuendoxX

:):):):) dreams are all we have>>>U awaken me

  • is the scaling the same for all mobo and cpus or will it be different? also is RAM that runns 1066mhz 5cl faster or slower than one that runns 800mhz cl4?

  • i got an HIS 6870. and if i want to run in cossfire do i ned to buy HIS or can i buy XFX????

  • @lampan5000 You can buy an XFX if you want ;)

  • Blink!

  • what are the watt needed for the AMD 6870 Crossfire and a single one thank you.

  • @MORDEKAIZ well i run 2xsapphire 6870 and i have a corsair hx-1000watt but my friend has the same setup and he runs it with a corair tx-750 $167.00

  • @binovski5 thanks dude.

  • @MORDEKAIZ no worries, i think that the radeon 6870 is a great mid level card and 2 of them is even better!!!!!

  • @binovski5 - Overkill on the 1000watt power supply....dual 6870's with system will probably pull 500w max...tops 700....hope your not paying the power bill!

  • @ChrisHoyt i purchased the hx-1000watt to last me through a few builds, and as soon as the 6990's come out they will push down the price of the 6970"s, and then i will get 3 of them hence the hx-1000. and yes i do pay the bill!

  • @binovski5 how does the hx-1000 watt work? im gonna get one and i would just like to know because im going 2x 6870 saphires like u or maybe 1 6970 card, but im not sure yet

  • @MrDeadashell Its a great PSU but i think for the money the AX-850 is great! I have seen 2x 6970 run off of the AX-850! Its all the power you need!

  • @binovski5 1000 watt hahahaha man learn to spend your money

  • @binovski5 Boon, I've seen people running 2x HD 6970 or 2x GTX 570's on quality 750W. Buying 1000W psu for 2 mid range cards is retarded and waste of money.

  • @Dex1n The 570s are faster. I made the switch from x2 6870s to x2 570s. I use a Cougar sx850. Its a great PSU and it isn't expensive. You can check em out on Newegg. You could get away with even the 700w. And their all over 80+ Bronze.

  • @AsianPerson3 Cougar... I got Corsair AX750W and really won't change that to some cougar..

  • @Dex1n

Buying a power supply that you wont have to upgrade in other builds will save money in the long run . Definitely not retarded.

  • @1EpicLulz Idiot you never need 1000W PSU. Cards in the future will use less power, and people who buy mid range cards, I don't think they are going for something like 2x GTX 580 SLI. Cause 1000W PSU is for set ups like 2x 580's + overclocked i7 and still there's plenty of room, so yeah. Getting 1000W psu for 2x mid range cards is retarded. You should find out how much the system really would use rather than buying PSU which delivers 300W more than you need.

  • @Dex1n

You realize that PSU power more than graphics cards right?

And no, newer computers don't consume less power its the opposite. Look at how much watts computers from 5-10 years ago needed compared to today's, but whatever i can see you ignored everything i said in my last post. Douchebag.

  • @Dex1n haha less power? the only reason graphics cards are getting faster is because manufacturing processes are getting more sophisticated. this allows more transistors to be squashed onto the gpu die and in turn produces better performance within the SAME power/thermal envelope. of course, its a matter of opinion as to whether or not you 'need' two 300w graphics cards to begin with :P

  • can this run tertis?

  • can this run farmville?

  • Will it blend? That is the question.

  • What CPU do you use?

  • Can you tell me if it is quiet cooler?

  • does xfx 6850 and xfx 6870 work together in crossfire?

  • @Micbuns1 No...

  • @Micbuns1 yes but it runs like two 6850

  • @kaseymiller really?

  • Can this run runescape?

  • @kaseymiller Shit man i dunno, I wouldnt bet on getting over 20 fps

  • @dpsdan4 haha yeah. I would love to get one of these cards but oh well. I am settling for a sapphire 6850... which is great but meh :D

  • I have sapphire AMD 6870 in crossfire and I got 33.5 fps in the heaven benchmark(I have 6gb ddr3 ram and i7 950) (not overclocked)

  • does medal of honor 2010 support crossfire configuration?

  • Hi I am new in this game could you let me known when you CrossFire 2-6870 together can you still out put to 8 monitors?

Due to 6870 each card can out put to 4 monitor + an HDMI.

    Thanks

  • hey is this a good build for crysis?

    8gb ddr3 ram 1600mhz

2 amd radeon hd 6870 crossfire

    asus p7p55 LX motherboard

    intel core i7 875k.

  • @mechwarrior4fan97 Hell yea lol

  • which is better the 6870 or the 5850

  • @CamCon586 I'd say the 6870, but I'm not totally sure that its better.

  • @CamCon586 the 6870 is between 5850 and the 5870 !!!! so better than the 5850 ! BUT ! you can overclock the 5850 easy to a 5870 ! so is cheaper and you have a Toxic Cooling from Sapphire . I think its better to buy 5850 for overclock, . you don't like overclocking ? so buy the 6870 ;-) (but from XFX is better)

  • lol... i'm not an nvidia fan boy... but.... did you saw the diference between the gtx 470 and the 2 6870??? ridiculous, the best you can do is buy 2 gtx 470 making an sli... right?

  • @julianomaxter The difference in cost between one 480 and two 6870's where the one 480 is around $500 and two 6870's is less than that. Given the performance difference between the single 480 and the dual 6870 it's not a bad deal.

It does make one wonder about the benchmarks of a 470 SLI configuration.

  • Wow, there seems to be a difference between an XFX and the sapphire version. Can you explain that?

  • @Jorricks3 1333 is the meaning of 1333MHz In other words: 1333 million responstime eatch second Nothing else... And for that wierd guy sayin that mega means 1000, its wronk Kilo = 1000 mega = 1,000,000 Giga = 1,000,000,000 Tera = 1,000,000,000,000 Well, you got the point
  • Crossfire................MODE lol

  • Why is there softcore porn music in the background lol?

  • @NextNahaj but its chill ass soft core porn music though

  • @NextNahaj coz ur trollin

  • @NextNahaj LOL you would know they were from a porn show !

  • U put the cards up against cards they can beat. Run the 6870 in xfire against the 5970, the 580 and the 480

  • 6870's in crossfire beat a 5970 in about 90% of the benches ive seen and beats the gtx 480 in 90% of them too so you can safely say it is superior soo why werent they compared in this video

  • How does a single ASUS 6870 fair against a gtx 470?

  • @crazedimp321 Overall they are equal, but if you play DX11 tesselated games GTX 470 is better.

  • is 2 of these overkill for 1920x1080 gaming?

  • Hey, will an AMD x4 630 processor bottleneck these cards if I get 2 of them for crossfire?

  • Nice chair man... XD

  • Aaaarrrggghhh..~!! my new babes. come to papa.. :p

  • YouTube land!!

  • hey umm ive got a problem.. i have 2 asus 6870's in crossfire and they dnt scale too well in games like crysis.. i get an average of 33 frames a second with a 6core amd cpu oc at 3.8 with 8gigs 1333hz mem... how would i know one of my cards are dead or not working? thanks
