Jason you are truly a leader in the industry, I appreciate your passion and dedication to this business. I am in the process of putting together the funds and time commitment to get my license, in the interim I was wondering if you have a list of general terms that we could use to at least have a handle on the vernacular.
Technically, ATC would tell you to: "track inbound on the 200 radial to the ___ VOR" which means you need to set 020 for the CRS. You have everything right, you just have the phraseology wrong. Radials are ONLY directed outbound from the VOR itself. It's just how a VOR works.
A bit blunt but the intention is good. There are multiple types of VOR instruments, the one complexer than the other. Also, you never intercept a course with a random angle.
