Paddy is the most sweetest and cleverest popstar ever (check out his 1990 interviews or 1980s interviews) He has had a lot of illnesses -hope is truly recognized one day for his contribution to english pop music. He is a modest genius.

Life of surprises is a superb song as well as pop as philosophy. Paddy McAloon not only wrote excellent music but also possesses impressive insights into the human condition. Lyrics to make you think and reflect, and music to make your heart sing are the Prefab Sprout stock in trade. You could spend several lifetimes listening to this band and still never get bored. All their music sound strong today, and hasn't been weathered by the passage of time like us mere mortals who listen to the stuff!

My fav groups r u2 n simple minds n the waterboys. However, prefab sprout were, at times, stunningly excellent. This is one of their best songs: exhuberant, dynamic n ripe with melodic n lyrical pop genuis. U compare this dirge like ballads like that evanscene 'song' that gets 20plus million hits, then there is no comparison...this is far, far better. They never quite got the global recognition they so richly deserved.
