Du'a Khalil Aswad. Remember her? She was stoned to death in the street surrounded by a mob of people waiting their turn to throw a rock at her. Some were filming it with cell phones and proudly posted it on the internet. For all the world to see. I think YOU are lost.
so your setting this stereotype that we constantly stone people around here just because some stupid people did it to a poor girl?(and i know about the whole thing, and have seen the video with disgust)
and my county most certainly doesn't accept such things nor the others around me(not even iraq), if some people do it, it doesn't mean it gives u the right to stereotype and say we do it commonly here, your just brainwashed my friend
I imagine for every public stoning of a woman in YOUR country there are 20 murders by handgun in MINE. That sucks. I am not stereotyping you or your people. I beg you, don't stereotype mine. These things have happened. We can't deny it. But, we are better than this. WE...me and YOU. I am a father and I CANNOT believe that any other father would let his daughter be stoned to death without defending her to his DYING breath. Isn't it so where you come from? I would fight GOD for my daughter.
mate, get this my country DOESN'T have stoning, if there was we would all know its a small country
U guys LEGALIZE personal ownership of guns, because its in one of your amendments under "...the people have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and their own State, or the United States, or for the purpose of killing game; and no law shall be passed for disarming the people or any of them...".
so you know what, the US constitution is partially to blame for all the "handgun murders", while the middle east countries who "know how to throw rocks and wont miss" are not since there against ALL those things
umm... i hope you are aware that there are fathers out there that rape their daughters, kill their daughters and sell their daughters so if you can't believe that one father killed her without it being law in that country, you are one of the people who make the rest of the world think americans are stupid.
umm...I hope you are aware that raping, killing and selling your daughter is WRONG! If not, YOU are one of the people that needs to be neutered so you won't contaminate the gene pool or kill your own kids). I KNOW that any man who would sanction the killing of his own daughter is not a true father at all, only a barbaric, ignorant piece of shit. Believe it or not, there is a whole other "rest of the world" that agrees with me. If I am stupid for that, then how smart are you?
Well, obviously people like that exist or we wouldn't be discussing it in the first place. He must have assumed he was talking to one of the "stupid Americans" he believes populate The United States of America. I hope he has realized his error.

yea, its much better just to have the highest murder rate in the world, the highest divorce rate, the widespread disregard for sanctity and modesty, and the utter disrespect for sacred institutions such as marriage, and being under the influence of drugs and alcohol is "cool", like we have here in the U S of A.
It is better if it means having the freedom to choose the kind of life we live as opposed to having it chosen for us by fanatical, armed religious groups.
It is better if it means having the freedom to choose the kind of life we live as opposed to having it chosen for us by fanatical, armed religious groups.
Every human has freedom to do whatever he or she wishes. This is what Islam teaches. In Arabic, its called Ikhtiyaar, or "free will". However, whatever choices a person makes has a direct impact on whether he goes to heaven or hell, which is fair enough i'd say. I don't want to see any jackasses in heaven.
This is ironic that you say that, and we have here a video showing the intense emotional hate for our President, which resulted from our belief that we should restrict others freedom of choice and invade their countries and impose our godless ideologies on them.
Other countries produce orphans, and the U S of A produces bastards. How strange. But you probably think a bastard isn't a bad thing, just like an adulterer isn't, just like a murderer isn't, just like a rapist isn't, but these are all signs that society has plunged to a despicable state of moral depravity. "freedom of choice" has worked its magic on the U S of A.
You know damn well your country has all of the things you just mentioned. I firmly say that you are lying bastard if you deny it. Go, ahead and try because I know better. Stoning a woman in the street because her father disagrees with her choice for a boyfriend doesn't make you morally sound. It just makes a crazy sonofabitch. And bastards aren't bad...I should know, because technically, I am one.
Sadly, I won't deny it either. But I won't bullshit myself into believing that America INVENTED those things. They are all perfect examples of what has been referred to as "the human condition". I have had the chance to experience the cultures of several countries other than my own. I see the the problems you mentioned in all of them. America is no different. This I know.
Sadly, those problems are not taught by Islam and are actually prevented if the correct Islamic teachings are followed.
America didn't invent those things, but it certainly doesn't prevent them. That's the difference. At some point, the whole concept of "total free will" is ludicrously ridiculous. There must be rules and regulations. America firmly believes this, or else why the **** is it in these foreign countries?
Rule of law was revealed to humans. You may not be aware of those laws and hence you'r looking at something and you perceive it to be barbaric to stone a girl.Unjustly, yes it is barbaric. But the whole concept of having a strict punishment for extra marital relations is to preserve SOCIETY. It's to prevent a baby being born, and he doesnt have the love of a father because noone knows who it is.
wait wait wait, who are u to claim islam or any culture says stoning is ok?
show me where in the Quran(the holy book of islam) it says stoning is the punishment of an adulteress. ur confused my friend, its the punishment in the torah, not the quran
It keeps divorce rate down because a man will never cheat on his wife knowing that he could be stoned for it. It's to prevent the denigration and dissolution of society. And it's applicable in every culture. Culture has nothing to do with following a creed. Islam taught equality of every race long before you guys even conjectured it.
Article 353 states that no penalty shall be inflicted upon a person who rapes an unmarried woman, as long as he then marries the victim. Article 333 of the Bahraini penal code specifies a life sentence or death for the crime of murder; but Article 334 provides a reduced sentence (unspecified length) for a man who surprises his wife in the act of adultery and proceeds to murder or assault her.
You kno who would call every one to gather for prayer, during the Prophet's time? A black slave. He was freed because this is what the Prophet taught, that slaves should be freed.
You should seriously learn about Islam, and not look at the crap people have become today.
They are not following Islam, thats why the world today is controlled by tyrants.
And no thanks, I, like millions upon millions of others on the planet, prefer to practice a different religion. That is why the world will never be all muslim, or all christian or all any one religion. You will just have accept that. There are such things as religious tyrants.
...not to mention YOU (the american people) pushed to go into war. so stop bitching at bush for doing whats right for the people, especially when you asked for it. imbeciles. (and yes, i am american so dont try to use that "youre an arab, you know nothing" bullshit)
you are all stupid, stupid people. for one, my fiance is from kuwait. for the shoe throwing..it means nothing more in the middle east than it does here.its an insult no matter where you are, but is no worse to an arab.second, i will be the one to say you are all a bunch of american assholes. if you actually look at what bush has done for this country, you would know he has done a great job. being one of the most unlucky presidents (9/11, katrina, economy..)he has proven himself worthy of his job
Damn, this journalist's name is already recorded in the list of the world's heros! He is the most courageous man ever! To think someone would show his hatred towards the world's most powerful figure in such a way! I am sure Bush killed his family members or something.. but he is hell of a brave man! I salute you!!
No the Journalist said: This is 'qoblat al wadaa' meaning Goodbye kiss essentially... The security and others where the ones that called the man that threw the shoes a dog...
I wonder what brought that on... aside from Bush being an utter prick that orphanned god knows how many iraqi kids and widowed god knows how many iraqi wives, distroyed homes and families and what not... but why now... and why shoes?! symbolism aside as he was too pissed off to really think of it i think...
i checked my translations, farewell is translated to "wida3"
English: farewell
Arabic : الوداع
im sure there are a million reasons to throw a shoe at him, and im actually happy he did to show the amount of displeasure and pain he brought to many people around the world
you heard right, basically the idea of the bottom of a shoe is where filth is(from streets and so on), and its an insult to tell someone he isnt "worth the dust under his shoes" or "the bottom of his shoe", and yea generally using shoes are a negative thing around here
so killing outraged people is your solution to all of this? im glad ur just a nobody, otherwise the world would simply kill each other based on your stupid approach.
Economic Disaster: $700,000,000(and counting), Iraq War: $300,000,000,000(and counting), seeing the cause of this mess almost get hit by a pair of penny loafers on International Television for the world to see: PRICELESS
Hahaha see that Bush assh*le......son of a bit*ch ... he deserves those shoes...LOL american president. Hey Obama learn from Bush's bad policies.... otherwise you could also face shoes...LOL
This is a symbol of how the Iraqi people feel about this government. I deeply empathize with the Iraqi and Arab people, and I apologize for the heinous crimes this government committed in Iraq and the Arab world. I also apologize for the crimes previous US governments committed in Iraq and the Arab world and for the crimes they continue to commit. I am deeply sorry and shamed.
Thanks man. I hope to work alongside many others to do all we can to make all possible amends to Iraqi people, hold those responsible accountable, and make sure that the US government follows all law, international and domestic,as well as conducts itself to the highest ethical standards in all of its dealings will all people, including its own, in the future.
haha bush seemed so cool and calm...good for him. now, having said that, i'm glad he's going, i want the war over, and i voted for obama. but i can't see a civilized "journalist" ever throwing anything at a world leader. how idiotic!
you know nothing about me. i have a son with a disease that bush has vetoed a possible cure for over and over. i can't stand the man. i could lose my little boy at any time, so i know about losing family.
stop name calling when you don't know the facts. i simply said it's inappropriate for a JOURNALIST to throw things.
scumbag moron. very intelligent debate you've presented. thanks.
bush is an idiot, and deserved that shoe thrown at him, but you really can't count throwing a shoe at someone as a civilized thing as much as i find it symbolic and smart lol
OMG! This is SO great. Really, the guy was a pretty good aim. Why couldn't there have been dog shit on the shoes and it smacked Bush? Dang! Best comedy of the year. Everywhere he goes he makes an ass out of himself. Get back to the White House, hide under your bed, shut the fuck up, and get back to Texas where you belong. How refreshing it is going to be that we we finally have a President that can put a complete sentence together. Praise Jesus!
this pethatic man knew that he would not be punish severly in the new iraq that bush created,,He would never dared to do this in any other arab country, because he will get shot befor even throuwing the second shoe. This act may make some uneducated FACIST arabs happy but if they ask themselves what happend if an arab journalist do this to Bashar Asad or Husni Mubarak or any other arab leader..they will realise Bush is an exmple they should learn from not through shoes at.
Absence Justice D shoe was right measure. This journalist is Hero of Muslim world, V regret USA flag was touched. Our apologies 4 that.

you are all stupid, stupid people. for one, my fiance is from kuwait. for the shoe throwing..it means nothing more in the middle east than it does here.its an insult no matter where you are, but is no worse to an arab.second, i will be the one to say you are all a bunch of american assholes. if you actually look at what bush has done for this country, you would know he has done a great job. being one of the most unlucky presidents (9/11, katrina, economy..)he has proven himself worthy of his job

Damn, this journalist's name is already recorded in the list of the world's heros! He is the most courageous man ever! To think someone would show his hatred towards the world's most powerful figure in such a way! I am sure Bush killed his family members or something.. but he is hell of a brave man! I salute you!!
jakemullick 3 years ago
No the Journalist said: This is 'qoblat al wadaa' meaning Goodbye kiss essentially... The security and others where the ones that called the man that threw the shoes a dog...
I wonder what brought that on... aside from Bush being an utter prick that orphanned god knows how many iraqi kids and widowed god knows how many iraqi wives, distroyed homes and families and what not... but why now... and why shoes?! symbolism aside as he was too pissed off to really think of it i think...

i checked my translations, farewell is translated to "wida3"
English: farewell
Arabic : الوداع
im sure there are a million reasons to throw a shoe at him, and im actually happy he did to show the amount of displeasure and pain he brought to many people around the world
DoCWaSaBe 3 years ago
Throwing a shoe at someone is in arab and middle eastern culture to be a great insult.
From what I heard
Karadennizz 3 years ago 2
yeah thats what i heard to its like spitting at someone thats why he threw a shoe not because he didn't have anything else
supersweet077 3 years ago
you heard right, basically the idea of the bottom of a shoe is where filth is(from streets and so on), and its an insult to tell someone he isnt "worth the dust under his shoes" or "the bottom of his shoe", and yea generally using shoes are a negative thing around here
DoCWaSaBe 3 years ago
Yeah that's what it basically means.
The same in Turkey also.

I am deeply sorry and shamed.
mariacwhittaker 3 years ago 3
as long as people like you exist the Arabs nor Muslims shouldn't throw generalizations at your people because of bush's actions.
really appreciate the comment
DoCWaSaBe 3 years ago
Thanks man. I hope to work alongside many others to do all we can to make all possible amends to Iraqi people, hold those responsible accountable, and make sure that the US government follows all law, international and domestic,as well as conducts itself to the highest ethical standards in all of its dealings will all people, including its own, in the future.

haha bush seemed so cool and calm...good for him. now, having said that, i'm glad he's going, i want the war over, and i voted for obama. but i can't see a civilized "journalist" ever throwing anything at a world leader. how idiotic!
sarabaack 3 years ago
Try losing your family to that "World leder" you scumbag moron
xxxxsjdxxxx 3 years ago
you know nothing about me. i have a son with a disease that bush has vetoed a possible cure for over and over. i can't stand the man. i could lose my little boy at any time, so i know about losing family.
stop name calling when you don't know the facts. i simply said it's inappropriate for a JOURNALIST to throw things.
scumbag moron. very intelligent debate you've presented. thanks.
sarabaack 3 years ago
bush is an idiot, and deserved that shoe thrown at him, but you really can't count throwing a shoe at someone as a civilized thing as much as i find it symbolic and smart lol
