  • He is the Legend of cambodian music and entertainement industry . And we want to thank him and his family for the joy and the lives that he touched . But i think his wife should get a LAWYER . She deserve to be compensated . After all she is only 66 years young and may live to 100 who knows .

  • i did took the pic w/ her last 3 yrs ago.

  • Even though Mietophoum Production didn't donate much money during the time, the interview of Sinn Sisamouth's wife and his children in Mietophoum's Tour DVD was the first to do so and brought more donors and raised more awareness about supporting his family. We all love his voice very much but the best way to cherish Sinn Sisamouth legacy is to help his family out however much you can. This is what he wants. Each one of us have more capability to help than any government entities.

  • they dont look poor, just only average......

  • she doesn't sound khmer

  • Sinn Sisamouth's daughter's pain and anger... her tears, so sad

  • oh my,,, this just can't be.... they don't deserved that $100... it even cried :(

  • omg this interview makes me wanna cry when she said that her husband voice can support her and telling her not to worry. and they only give her 100$.

  • omg this interview makes me wanna cry when she said that her husband voice can support her and telling her not to worry.

  • thank you for video

my parents live "stung treng" too

very hard life in this province

  • my mom likes it im camboida that live in canada

  • wow...this is sad!!!! shame to those who used his music to make profits and not give any to support his family (at least 10% from profits) if not much. I don't care if this is his 2nd, 3rd, 4th wifes...she's still his wife and kids (his blood).

    Talk about stealing!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!

  • 100 dollars it must be a joke!!! Those productions are making thousands dollars out of SSS's songs. These prod' should be ashamed of themselves

  • live in USA give $100 lolzz..y don give $1000..

  • even now i am a middle age man and i never see Mr. samouth in real life but by his songs i can feel him... His voice is the best... Once u listen deeply, u will understand what is he tryin to tell u....

  • If I may ask...Is this Mr.Sisamouth's 1st wife that had 4 children with him? I believe he was remarried to a ballerina dancer and had 2 more children....I re-made a few music beds of Mr.Sisamouth's original songs for a Cambodian gentleman here in TACOMA which is how I even found out about him. After that I was hooked!! Eventhough I don't comprehend Cambodian language... I can feel the music of Mr.Sisamouth(RIP)!! I just bought a couple of his CD's at the Lucky's on 38 St PEACE!!!

  • I enjoyed listening to the journalist narrated the story. Keep it up.. you've represented us well.

  • wow this is how they treat that family

  • you can go to myspace search for sin sisamouth and there is a Fund raiser for donating money to his family

  • IT a damn shame. All those thieves that makes money from Mr.Sinn's songs over the past 30 years, should think of the family he left behind. I know very well that it aren't much but every little bits counts. Forget it now when every songs in the world can be download for free.

  • It's too small for only 100 but better than nothing.

I'll always listen to Sin's song all the time.

I don't want to waste my time or my money on these nowadays Khmer song.

It's useless Most of the Khmer song today had been copied from foriegners.

    I don't like at all.

The company of the singer to day they have no brain in creating them self.

  • 100 is better than no money.

  • special thanks to Chanta ( puletakam mieta phoum)

also thanks to natesterx for upload

  • Sinsisamouth was one of Cambodia's greatest assets. I grew p on his songs and gained deep understanding from their meaning. The Cambodian songs these days could not compare with them. You would think with the wealth of culture and enjoyment he gave us, the country would place his family on a pedestal.

  • $100. lol

  • 100 That's Aa Rip-off!!

  • I hope everyone will start to eat rice. It's good for people.

  • Those music company's bastards make millions $ profits with SSS's hard works and they gave his wife only 100$!! Unbelievable. This is the typical cambodian's love to each other (ironic!). Please boycott those music companies.

As a khmer living abroad and been born in the 70's (didn't go to school, thank you Pol pot and co.!), I learn khmer's culture through SSS's (+ other singers) songs, needless to say khmer vocabularies. One billion applauses and thank you. May your soul rest in peace.

  • amazing that you learn khmer culture thru sin si samouth's & others' songs!!

  • Merry xmas Pkving to you and to your relatives!

I may be a little bit exaggerating but still, I learn a lot by listening to their songs. For example, I know during khmer's new year, young people played bos choung, ang khoun (a kind of black fruit seed that they beat on the loser's knees), etc. As for vocabularies: hak tha, pheak, etc. and contrary to the new singers, it seems they only know the word besdoung and nothing else.

  • lumieresrei,

thank you, even though i aint celebrate christmas, i aint a christian, i'm a buddhist.

i know you're not exaggeratin'. coz myself, after more than 30 years of bein' away from cambodia, samouth's & other oldies' songs refresh my memories of khmer vocabularies!!

yeah yeah, borss chhoong, borss orng-koonch, in the 3 days of the new year's celebration. very very fun. girls were allowed 2 meet boys outdoors 2 play those games.

makes me nostalgic of phnom penh & cambodia.

  • In my opionion, all the khmer cd and dvd productions should help out Mr Samuth families for using his songs. When Mr Samuth told his wife that even when he's dead his voice will still feed the families but khmer ppl not follow the copy right law. That is very sad to hear that came out from his wife.

  • i know! its not fair. they make millions but here is his wife having none of the profit.

  • this is so sad for her.

  • was she a dish back then?

  • khmercowboy...

i agree with ur.. but anyhow i never knew that lok sin wife is still alive..

  • for a man that gave so much to Cambodia, his widow and children are left to be forgotten. It is a wonderful jesture for the $100 but for those greedy bastards that made thousand of lok Sin Sisamouth, you people/company should be a shame of your greedy self.

  • its ashame, for what khmer kaorake company do to mr sinsamouth. they release his music and his family do not get any profit for that. its ashame. those music company are doing mr sinsamouth very wrong.

  • sin sisamouth was send to usa to study economics, instead he choses to learn how to sing, that why khmer rocks songs are quite similiar.love samouth

  • (reply 2 larin67)

since the 60s up till now i've never heard that sin si samouth was sent 2 the usa 2 study economics. this is the 1st time i hear it. are you sure or what source did you get it from??

  • as 4 us ordinary cambodians livin' abroard, we can do somethin' 2 show our admiration & gratefulness 4 sin si samouth. eg we can set up a bank account 4 his widow & survivin' children. 10 or 20 bucks monthly or occasionally sent 2 that account wont affect our financial status.

  • As Pkving said, we us the ordinary cambodian can do something to help to support his family. Also, we can pressure all those music companies to deposit money for copyright. It's a moral duty. SSS + others gave us so much.

  • lumieresrey,

    i agree with you 101%!!

  • Do you have any suggestion as on how to start with?

  • sin si samouth was famous in cambodia. NOW he's ALSO famous outside of cambodia. no no i'm not talkin' about cambodians livin' abroad, like me. i'm talkin' about foreigners who aint understand the cambodian language at all & yet who are his fans.

that should add more pressure 2 the cambodian government 2 officially declare him as a national treasure.

  • its better that meataphoum production interviewed sin si samouth's widow & donated 100 bucks 2 her than 2 do nothin' & 2 donate nothin'.

the cambodian government must officially declare sin si samouth as a national treasure. it must support his widow & survivin' children financially. it must also create a law forcin' companies & singers who make money out of his music 2 pay royalties 2 his widow & survivin' children.

  • companies & singers who make money out of sin si samouth's songs have the moral if not legal obligation 2 pay royalties 2 his widow & survivin' children.

note: i have no relation or connection whatsoever with his widow or survivin' children.

it's good that meatephoum production interviewed his widow & donated 100 bucks 2 her. its at least better than nothin'.

i live in canada, i know cambodian music companies in usa make money out of his songs since as early as the early 80s.

  • yeah for example, SR production should make a donation becuz all their music are all sin sisamouth music

  • (reply 2 christina559)

    agree. it should.

  • that true sin sisamouth songs is the best

  • damn c when we don't copy people song our music last forever like Sin Sisamouth's song his voice still around even teen stil lisen to his music and even prea sovath take his song

  • damn c when we don't copy people song our music last forever like Sin Sisamouth's song his voice still around even teen stil lisen to his music and even prea sovath take his song

  • I'm sure most Cambodian people don't even realize that his family isn't getting what they deserve. If he was still alive, he could do something about it. Since he's passed on, his family doesn't have much ground to do anything. And honestly, since the country is still a 3rd world country, most people are just trying to get by and are probably too concerned with themselves to really take into consideration how heartless the music industry is by taking advantage of Mr. Sisamouth's popularity.

  • If i run into his wife i will pull out a big fat stack of green out of my pocket and hand it to her,it's okay i'll make more when i get to the state, plus i got two pockets ;)my life is shaped and fashion by this man music,he is to me what elvis is to the American.

  • I think we should just go ahead and boycott all of the videos unless those companies pay some royalties to Mr. Sinn's his wife and his daughters.

  • Dang! What happened to Ponleu1. I was just watching the videos last night. And that person just completely disappeared! Videos and the account! Was it something I said? I hate Youtube. Anymore of this video cancellation, I'm leaving Youtube.

  • STOP BUYING CAMBODIAN KARAOKES!!! Until they pay Sinn Sisamouth's and Ross Serey Sothea's family some royalties!!!!! SPREAD THE WORD!!!!!!

  • Ugh I hate how the Cambodian government is so fucking messed up. Those idiots ruined my parent's life along with 2 millions other!!! I swear...one day, I'm gonna change the world--Cambodian at least. I'm gonna start a new radical movement and help rebuild our empire.

  • if you want to rebuild our empire, we have to united. in Thai(khmer surin),Vietnam(khmer krom),Lao(khmer_ _ _ _), currently khmerkrom stand up for khmer land, and humright, we need to support our khmer people. i do want to see we all khmer become in 1.

  • It seems like an interesting documentary. I would be nice to have had some english subtitles. I remember Sin sisamuth from my days in the english radio in PP. He seemed to be the Elvis presley of cambodia with such a charming voice. It is a pity that the family does not recieve royalties from his work as they do in the west.

  • Please tell us more about him. Did you see him sing on stage or did he sing in the club? What kind of band was he with? Wow what's a voice and poetic lyric! Such a gifted artist, they don't live long. I don't like all his songs, but some touch your heart and soul.

  • this video is sad...his wife and family should be livin the good life but instead them damn greedy ass cambodians (hey im khmer too) dont know how to show appreciation and respect to sin sisamouths family...its just sad...and they deserve more than a hundred dollar bill...they deserve thousands and millions fuck that!

  • Very sad. As recent as a few years ago, when Touch Srey Nich got shot, she received very little donation from companies that made millions off of her. A few hundreds dollars her father acknowledged he received. May be we should boy cut by not buying their records.

  • try not to use the word F please, cuz i am khmer and i want see khmer people use a proper word. please forgive me if i am wrong.

    thanks you

  • my badd

  • knowing well that Mr Sin Sisamouth's wife and family live in misery

  • How Can I send her money so it wont be stolen by heartless and greedy people in this world who don't share royalties and who dont care about intellectual properties belonging to his family. What kind of buddhist people are they? no compassion at all. Shame on those Khmer People in the music industry for profiting on his songs. No conscience whatsoever. well let me tell them : what goes around comes around in this world. They won't sleep peacefully with all the money they made

  • Shame on the Cambodian music industry for profitting on Mr. Sisamouth's music and not contributing at least a small portion to his family. I am disappointed and disturbed by this interview because it display the greedy and unsympathic side on human nature. It breaks my heart to see stuff like this happen because I feel that I cant do anything about it. Mr. Sisamouth is a legend and will always remain the an icon in the Cambodian community.

  • It's really heart broken to see the interviewed with his wife and daughter. Those people who's profited from his songs should be ashame, and the khmer goverment should give his family some sort of support, because the man is an idol to all the khmer people then and now. It's embarassing to see things like this happened. I've listen to all kinds of khmer songs from various artist but no one could replace SINN SISAMOUTH his body maybe gone but his voice and soul still live on.

  • wow.. this is amazing to see. It kinda pisses me off that she doesnt get any kind of royalties for her husband's music from the khmer karaoke companies while they get richer. someone should start up a foundation for families that had famous singers or khmer master musicians die during the khmer rouge, but i guess they arent the only ones who suffered from the khmer rouge either...

  • This is ridiculous!

  • how can I send them money?

  • Why all of Khmer karaoke companies They make alots of money from Sin Sisamouth and didnot donation some money to Sin Sisamouth wife????????.

  • damn man !! just hand her a thick stack of $100 bills, you know you going to make more money from her husband music,i sang sin sisamouth song at khmer wedding but i do it for free,i don't charge anything,i don't profit off it,i did it to keep his music alive,it's totally different for musical production company who profit off his music, they simply have no rights to it.

  • Haaahahahaaa she call pol pot " ah pot " like " ah chkaeh " she have no respect for that guy,i wonder what she call her loving husband loke sin sisamouth,my songsa oun Chandary call me bong somlanh ;)

  • The war give people no rights to rob sin sisamouth family of their music !! we are no better then the khmer rouge if we behave in such manners,we must compensate sin sisamouth family and acknowledge him as the rightful owner of those treasured musical pieces that he personally wrote, have the grace and decencies to do it without the family asking for compensation,we are not a nation of thieves.

  • If the khmer people care enough about their idol, they should dig to the bottom of this matter...his wife is getting old and she could be the only source of information left for the khmer to document Sin Sisamouth's life for the future khmer kids. The entertainment committees should do this for them or for the future of khmer entertaiment.

    :(

  • wow This is an amazing discovery, running into this video clip today. This is the first step to helping them. I'm glad that they interviewed the family. I have always wondered what happened to the rest of his family.

  • I suggest to the family to find a good lawyer to assist them to set a trust and to collect all of Mr Sin Sisamuth'productions into the Trust' property.

The trust will control all comercial actvities of Sin Sisamuth'production. In this kind of control, the trust can control the income from Sin Sisamuth production.

  • Great Idea, I think those who used and been used Sin Sisamuth songs for their business better turn their blind eyes and look at his wife which is old and fighting for her life. I am so condem all of them that enjoy making money on all Sin Sisamuth songs.

  • come on woman have a little self respect.. don't become a beggar like the rest of those pathetic cambodians... die with honor

  • It is very sad to see the family suffering. I was a former student of Sangkum Reasnium, I used to see their daughter who used to live with happiness and charm. Now she looked very old and unhappy. War has changed people lives.

  • How sad!!! i cant believe nobody angknowedlge sisamouth family....i really believe that the music production should be giving half of there profit for sisamouth family cuz that is the rite things to do... this is all of sisamouth song...it belong to his family!!! I REALLY THINK THAT KHMER OLDIES ARE WAY MORE LOVELY THAN SONG NOW AND DAYS CUZ THEY BE STEALING BEAT FOR DIFFERENT SONG...HOW WACK IS THAT??? I GIVE SIMOUTH PROPS 4 ALL THE GOOD SONG....HE IS THE BESTEST & MOST TALENTED SINGER EVER!!!

  • Wow this is the fisrt time that I see this video when was this vid, taken? I totally agree that who ever made most money out of his(music or songs)should help her.Open ya vallet or vallets.Long life to YIEAY S.S.

  • this is bull. $100? these production companies really got some nerves to intrude into the lives of Sin Simouth's family to "interview" them on their current status (which pulls in more dollars for them through the selling of their DVDs with this feature), and they could only afford to pay $100?

Cambodia really needs some sort of retirement plan or aid for the elderly, what a shame

  • Can someone provide english subtitles to his? There are some Sisamouth fans that don´t understand cambodian.

    Thank you!

  • she states she's really happy that someone has finally acknowledged her. for a living they just sell here and there and they barely get by. before her husband passed away he told her not to worry. if he dies his voice will live on. and as long as his voice continues to live, she will receive some pension. ever since mr samouth has passed away she hasn't received anything at all. together they had 4 children. 3 boys and 1 girl. 2 of the boys died durring the khmer rouge era.

  • @SuperPaquitor Cambodian is not a language, Cambodian is a person and the language is Khmer.

  • Hey, $100 dollars is more than what we have to offer. I think his family should get some royalties from the recording studios that use his songs. He is such a big icon in cambodia and still to this day his music inspires people all across Cambodia. He still has a very big presences in the music industry today!

  • Hey, $100 dollars is better than nothing. More than what we have to offer. I think that his family should get some royalities for his music from companies that use his music. He is such a big icon in cambodia and still has a very strong presence in the entertainment industry today!

  • Add insult to injuries,$100 dollar is an insult to her and her husband and the entire sin sisamouth family,he spend his life writing songs, songs that made many record company rich, they have no right to it at all.

  • Hangmeas made more then a hundred dollar out of sin sisamouth music, music they stole from sin sisamouth family, they have no right to it,they didnt write the song, since sisamouth did,his wife deserve much much more.

  • not only hang meas but many other companies made hundreds of thousands off of sin sisamouth. chlangden, sayonara, rasmey pean meas, golden butterfly, sr, etc. his songs are still circulating and are still being sold over and over. its really sad that his family gets no recognition at all.

  • It is true that Hang Meas has made easy monies out from Sin Samouth. I believe that this company should sign a contract with the family to pay them royalty before the law of copy right attack them for illegal actvities and will make them to loose hundred of thousands dollars

  • It's not just Hong Meas, other like Chlangden Prodct. etc. make alot of money

out of his sweat and they don't look back. MIETOPHOUM the first Production commemorated and rise fund for his family. You said you're former student

of Sankum Reasniyum, but in your page only 19 years fo age, How it can be?
