Some of the new Afghan recruits might be rough around the edges, but at least they're physically fit, used to walking around mountainous terrain. Definitely made of tougher stuff than the average Iraqi.

In defense of those Afghan soldiers they are not even properly trained before they are being taken into combat.

No offence towards those Afghan soldiers, and I know things have to be taken into consideration... but before they start firing, they should know the purpose of a rifle, don't you think? From where I am sitting it seems a bit scary to give a random guy a rifle without telling him to only fire on an enmemy that he can see and aim on.

I can only judge fom this clip, it might not represent the situation as it is. Or perhaps I'm missing something?

I met some Dutch soldiers when I was in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division. I don't think they were Marines though. Good bunch of guys, very professional.

They Dutch soldiers you have met in Afghanistan are likely LMB(air manouvre) ore PAINF (mech-inf).

There just a few marines up there..

They are no better for sure.

I have trained whit/against the USMC.

I think al Dutch Infantrymen are at thesame level.
