2006-'07 at that time it was known as FOB RIPLEY or T.K. (tarwin kowt) under US command, change of of command to ISAF...as ETT, US embeded teams part of the change was to train the first OMLET teams to complete our mission .TO ALL the soldiers that lost thier lives fighting FROM T.K.,CHORA VALLEY,DEH RAWUD ,DAYEKANDI,TO MIRABAD HELLMAND PROVINCE..you will never be FORGOTTEN........SGT H
het is heel moeilijk om die afghaners te trainen toch.en weet nooit als ze je vriend zijn ........maarje jullie doen een fatastischse job daaro...iedereen is trots op jullie... !!!!
Some of the new Afghan recruits might be rough around the edges, but at least they're physically fit, used to walking around mountainous terrain. Definitely made of tougher stuff than the average Iraqi.
No offence towards those Afghan soldiers, and I know things have to be taken into consideration... but before they start firing, they should know the purpose of a rifle, don't you think? From where I am sitting it seems a bit scary to give a random guy a rifle without telling him to only fire on an enmemy that he can see and aim on.
I can only judge fom this clip, it might not represent the situation as it is. Or perhaps I'm missing something?
I met some Dutch soldiers when I was in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division. I don't think they were Marines though. Good bunch of guys, very professional.

is there even a point to ground troops because it seems like every engagement ends with air support cleaning up and ground troops evacuating.

In defense of those Afghan soldiers they are not even properly trained before they are being taken into combat.

MoonLoaf 4 years ago 18
They Dutch soldiers you have met in Afghanistan are likely LMB(air manouvre) ore PAINF (mech-inf).
There just a few marines up there..
They are no better for sure.
I have trained whit/against the USMC.
There Huge! we had almost a fight whit them hehe.
I think al Dutch Infantrymen are at thesame level.
All verry profecional.
Nulli Cedo! No infantry no victory!
Dutchcrimes 4 years ago 2
well think 50 marines will beat up 75 infantrymen, but that doesnt matter they are all part of the dutch army so
6ww6 3 years ago
Hahaha yeah sure!
Come on are you a marine?
I thing our marines are good..
But other units aswell.
Cold war are there where many difirences but that time is over.
Marines are best at there tasks Army units at theres.. Ahoowa!
Dutchcrimes 3 years ago
@MoonLoaf
They have to be professional, we don't have a lot of them :P.
