This scooter is not fully assembled when sold that the manufacturer does not state. 3 reasons why.

1.) brake is adjusted too close to wheel

2.) motor has really small screws

3.) chain does not bend to the required half-inch

It is also not made properly. The battery shouldnt be sideways. Other reasons include no exhaust to protect overheat, unaccurate manual description such as how to ignition start.

Otherwise it would run like a not-to-expensive car.

You should put a larger sprocket on the wheel and tranny. Lose some acceleration but gain atleast 7 mph

Can you tell me where you got your velocity stack and choke plate?  Monsterscooterparts sells one but it is 1.5" centers and xg-470 is 1.25" centers and only sells the velocity stack. Also, where do you buy the x-can exhaust...I googled but didn't find anything.

you are running kinda rich, it's smoking too much even after you warmed it up for a little bit, and it was bogging when it was at full throttle. Why did you adjust the high speed before you started riding, you don't have to do that every time you ride. Once should be enough

theres a ring pin around the shaft that cones out of the transmission casing that your sprocket attaches to. you may just need to get a new ring pin. i think thats what its called.

no, i havent had many problems, but you have to make sure you have the carburetor tuned right when modifying these engines. because the more power you make it crank out the more fuel it needs to burn and so if you leave it the way it was you will not get the most power out of your engine and it could start to lead to engine problems because its not getting enough fuel.

oh haha. well yea its true, when you start getting performance parts for it and its starts making more power you have to compensate for it by adjusting the carburetor to give it more fuel. but there is only so much these engines can take. they will eventually crap out. b/c the more power they make now, the shorter they will live. generally speaking

well yes you have to put everything on by hand. there is nothing else to put them on by. easy? no. if you dont have a basic understanding of how these engines work then you will have trouble tuning the engine. and tuning is required when you get parts.

if you scooter dies when stalled its eather you idle is to low, or what happend to mine was the whole air filter wasnt screwed on air tight and it was sucking to much air in and it would stall if i didnt give it gas

yea it sounds like the idle jet in the carb is fouled. it could also be the air fuel ratio. it could be running too rich.

one more question. Recently my scooter hasn't been idleing and has trouble starting. I spayed some starter fluid in the carb and it started up but wont idle. And if it sits for more than 30 minutes it wont start without starting fluid. 2 weeks ago it was running fine. Any ideas?

you may have a dirty/clogged secondary jet in your carburetor if it wont idle. does it stay running if you give it gas? like when your driving it?

i got the same scooter for free from people who were going to throw it away and on the deck it says speed400g but is exactly the same as this one except silver and stock, it had blinkers,headlight,and a seat which were all broken. The elctric start still works but i dont have a charger. I changed the spark plug, cleaned the air filter, and gave it a fresh mix of gas. It runs now but only goes around 25. How can i make mine go faster and where do you get all those parts

it might be running too lean. there is a brass colored flat head screw on the carburetor with a spring under it. turn that counter clockwise about 3/4 turn no further.

if that dosent do it, you muffler might be clogged with carbon. take the muffler move the piston to up position (TDC) and spray BRAKLEEN all over everything, then very gently scrape all of the black carbon deposit off the exhaust port with a flat head screwdriver, being extremely careful not to gouge the aluminum block or piston.

and be very sure that no pieces of carbon fall into the engine, it can result in engine failure. if you have more questions or my advice did not work for you tell me and ill try to help you out.

well, i did all that, but my scooter's top speed is still 10 mph, i'm thinking that it has something to do with clutch, because the engine goes pretty hard, but no acceleration.

yea it might be the clutch. you might need to replace the clutch shoes or springs. or maybe you just need to clean out the clutch bell, it might just be slipping. but take it all apart (if your comfortable doing it) and see whats going on in there. let me know what you found. hope this helps
