This Ondes Martenot is a prototype. 7 of these model were build, this is the only one to re appears in full working condition. This one was build by Maurice Martenot, the plan was to build a simpler model for the kids to use and learn music. This one do not have the ribbon play, but this can be added if wanted. All the parts are connected but not assembled. beside of that, it's all tubes. And the speaker is genuine too.

I got something very similar for Christmas once. Think it's still in the attic. I used to hit notes at random on it too.
