  • thanks for the video illustrating good technique.

  • You have achieved level 99 in fletching.

  • It's Notch!

  • That's how to do it!

No mess, no fuss... Make every hit count.

And when in doubt, wear sturdy boots so that you can kick the shit out of it if you need to.

In a survival situation, every move counts!

'Sticks and stones' are no replacement for a good sharp axe!

  • I cut larger poles the same way, but it takes many more strikes. I notch it down real good and give the pole a week spot, then smash at it with the back of my axe. Its a lot easier than trying to buck the wood on the ground.

  • Those Rubber boot are the best thing for wet weather I agree 10,000% with ya about the boots around camp in wet weather they keep your feet warmer as well.. I use mine for fishing on the beach not the rocks hopping, and at camp in the wet. for extra warmth put on dive sock as well. try them you'll see what were talking about. Rod

  • haha i love your shoes

  • @JustinBaker2567

yeah its wet, so i need to have my rubber boots on,

  • axes are more fun though

  • sorry but i cut 6 cords of wood a year and i wouldent cut anything with a axe get a chainsaw that will get the job done good

  • u gonna bring a chainsaw when you go camping? lol....

  • Yes let me get my camping chainsaw and put it in my pack that will work.

  • heheheh some ppl complain about i have to big back pack, and other say a chainsaw is good to have when are out dorrs,

  • I was talking to megadylan19 I dont think he does any hiking would be good if you have a site picked and not far from the road.

  • yeah, i know you talk to him, i just tell what some ppl say to me,

  • You have a very good aim with that hatchet. Looks like you've had a lot of practice.

  • I am building a log cabin... and my axe is right big...please watch my videos and comment..please..YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT

  • Hi... I just bought a cheap carbon steel axe with a rounded edge but it is very blunt. I want to make it sharp but all I have is a stone and a steel file . Please help

  • i use some electric power tool the first time so i get a good angle on the edge,

that why new axes in most cases have a rounded edge so the customer can decide what angel he /she want to have,

if you dont have a power tool , then i think you can ask some one you know,

  • LOL...

  • @sredge1

hey sredge how are you !!

if your stone s japanese water stone put the stone into water for ten minutes that sharpen your axe with that

that s a great way and wll give you a perfect sharpen edge

    best wishes

    good luck

  • what's the difference?

  • here in sweden is a axe just a axe :0) big or smal,

  • Nice method, Fredde! Like Lars Felt says, "The more you carry in your head, the less you need to carry on your back". Very effective way of doing the job. Good length too and not much effort required either. 5 *'s

  • hey can u tell me what type of axe you have?

  • i dont know what type of axe it is, i just buy it on the gasstation :0)

  • Lol ur telling him "u suck" ur the one who sucks.. he has a life.. all ud o is play runescape all day..

  • nice hatchet! looks very sharp! nice vid, 5/5 sorry bout the rain. i know how annoying it is to chop wood in the rain

  • its not raining that much,

  • man u are super accurate with ur chopping. at first when u had ur hand on the log i was thinking oh god hes gonna cut is hand off but no. u chopped that wood really well... im jealous!

  • thanks, if you start to practise then you get the feeling and the technique soon.

  • Yeah. Did the wood get wet in the rain? There's nothing worse than trying to light even slightly damp wood.

  • heheheh, look at my bush bow video, i make fire with fresh willow, :0)

  • Looks like you've done that a few thousand times before. I like your vids I subscribed after watching just 3. I don't know what the hunting laws are in Sweden but if you ever want to bring one of your bush bows over here to America and some arrows and try hunting deer with them give me a shout. Indiana, USA has very reasonable non-resident hunting fees. I'll provide all transportation from the airport to the bush and back and have a tent set up in a State Forest, A fire ring and a pot of coffee.

  • thanks, it sounds nice, about hunting here in sweden, i dont have access of land to hunt on !

  • There are no public hunting lands in Sweden? That is sad. Here in America almost every State has some. Some States like mine have both Federally and State managed public lands available for hunting, fishing, and any other outdoor pursuit.

  • great work, and no need for an expensive gransfors axe, just good technique.

  • i cant see how the price can make so much difference, thanks for your comment.

  • This is an outstanding video. Thanks for posting it!

  • it looks like one pound weight axe?

  • it can bee,, i dont know,,
