Always thought this scene would be more meaningful if a picture of Stalin was also included and duly shot. Considering this butcher Stalin, as Russias leader, brought this war down on his people through connivance AKA Molotov/Ribbentrop Pact. Too bad both sides couldn't have lost; Korean Vietnam wars wouldn' have happened and China would have had a chance to democritize. Oh well, what if, then again, why? and who gives a shit? never mind.
WMG is a zionist coorporation and zionism is equal to nazism... maybe those zionist fuckers feel sympathy for hitler and ban the sound.... after all hitler was the main cause that israel was allowed its birth...
United offensive...29 million lost between who and who?
You'd said that Stalin starved to death millions of Ukrainians, that he deported millions of (ethnicity here), shot countless, but accusing him of letting your boys (if you're CIS) and mine (my family has belarussian origins- I'm albanian) die, dude there you're off the mark. The guy was a ruthless mofo killer but his life was on the balance.
I never said Stalin was nice but Hitler Troops were far worse . Regardless 29 millions Russians die and the Russians did do 95% percent of the real fighting against the Germans .
It were the Soviets dude back then, and no they didn't do 95% of the fighting. They did the essential. Took out the german threat as whole.
My point was that Stalin for teh first time in his rule, did not had any kind of real control, there fore he cant be blamed beyond the reasonable doubt. He failed in his defence policy that's all tat can be said.
@UnitedOffensiveIII Don't forget that half of this Russians was Polen. And read about SS Dirlewanger brygade and SS Rona they were most brutal SS waffen divisions.Any way Whermacht wasn't so much as SS was,They couldn't kill civilians and PoW,Red Army didn't care about that. The Red army was one of most brutal armies in history.Back to SS-waffen only on west front they would be PoW on east fron they couldn't give up,Becuse Russians or Polen would kill them.
@FireWoRri0R You are wrong on your orders for the Wehrmacht, the Wehrmacht were given orders to kill all prisoners and on many occasions kill civilians of Jewish faith or pro-bolshevik ideology, although they were no were as brutal as the SS Einsatzgruppen, but remember Einsatzgruppen and Einsatzkommandos (subunits of the 4 Einsatzgruppen sections) were not Waffen, they leant more towards the Allgemeine wing, a part of the Totenkopfverbande, not fighting Waffen units, just execution task forces
@UnitedOffensiveIII both were bad as each other, both sides committed genocide and war crimes on their own people and to foreign nations, lets not play the "your daddy is worse then my daddy" game
i guess you dont know Stalin never killed millions of his people in siberia like the CIA tells xD the americans lie the fucking world and how will stalin find transport for 30 million people how will he feed them to their death sentence how wiil he have resources to do it huh ?!?! america is full of lies not the USSR
@avto29 This movie is not classic Soviet school.... it was unorthodox by Soviet standards. Because it showed collaboration with the Nazis, the suffering of the civilians (most of Soviet propaganda was focused on the heroism of the Red Army) and even has brief references to the Holocaust (which was denied in the USSR, it was simply named "the killing of innocent non-combatants").
united offensive, i disagree with your political views:) but i am fascinated by your descriptions of this movie. i had a certain mystifying revelation after watching apocalypse now, but this one seems like its really serious. what is the genre? is it sad or just shocking?
Much deeper than Apocalypse Now since it really happen in Russia ....Russia lost close to 29 million people between Hitler ,Stalin the winter and hunger .

This movie well leave you speechless, Schindler's List was good but this movie makes Schindler's List look like a Sunday Cartoon. Make sure you have some stiff alcohol or some Valiums laying around. Good chance you won't sleep well afterward.
One of the best movies I've ever seen. Makes Schindler's List look like Howard the Duck. ' Nice one cantilever :) I have only once seen this move, but it had shaken me through the core. I am about to see it againt together with my friend quite soon.
I am from Poland so I am quit aware of the atrocities that had been inflicted upon people living there, both by Hitler and Stalin.
This film is simply astonishing. I would especially recommennd it for people who are familiar mainly with the 'hollywood' form of film-storytelling, particualrly when it comes to war films. 'Come and See' is one of the few films which, when it finishes, you are absolutely speechless.
This perhaps the best war film ever done. The plot: russian peasants in a Nazi "hell" is probably of secondary importance. Klimov depicts the war in an almost umbearable climate of anguish and existencial terror. Something like Dante descending into hell. This is a masterpiece that must be seen at least once in a lifetime (I doubt many would dare to do it twice
The Eastern Front of the European Theatre of World War II encompassed the conflict in central and eastern Europe from June 22, 1941 to May 8, 1945. It was the largest theatre of war in history in terms of numbers of soldiers, equipment and casualties and was notorious for its unprecedented ferocity, destruction, and immense loss of life.
It was here that the bulk of the European war was fought; where the Red Army halted the Germans in 1941 and then inflicted the first major defeats at Stalingrad and Kursk in 1943. The fighting involved millions of German and Soviet troops along a broad front hundreds of kilometres long.
It was by far the deadliest single theatre of World War II, with over 5 million Axis deaths; Soviet military deaths were about 10.6 million (out of which 2.8 - 3.5 million Soviet prisoners of war (of 5.5 million) died in German captivity, and civilian deaths were about 14 to 19 million.
More people fought and died on the Eastern Front than in all other theatres of World War II combined; the German army suffered 80% to 93% of all its casualties there. Although the Soviet Union was victorious in the war, the cost to the nation was an estimated 27 million dead, about half of all World War II casualties and the vast majority of Allied deaths, and had devastated the Soviet economy in the struggle.
Always thought this scene would be more meaningful if a picture of Stalin was also included and duly shot. Considering this butcher Stalin, as Russias leader, brought this war down on his people through connivance AKA Molotov/Ribbentrop Pact.
