  • I just bought one of these for my father, he is a soviet-afghan veteran, for $188.69 and it is a beauty! also got 1320 ammo for $204.45... Good bargain!

  • from the back you look like muscles glasses from epicmealtime!

  • Was für ne geile semi automatic.......i love it!!!!

  • they are very fun to shoot love mine just ordered a tactical stock for her

  • is the sks a good hunting weapon?

  • @italianguns

I would say yes, but you can't get soft points in Canada...

  • @supafly00100aa I think you may be confusing those with something else. Soft pointed ammunition is perfectly legal in Canada. You just need a valid PAL or POL.

  • @pleasuretrip

When supafly says you can't get soft points, I think he is referring to soft points in 7.62x39. There is dirt cheap FMJ ammo in Canada, everywhere... but havent seen hunting ammo in this calibre.

  • @mattiastomb Really? I see it all the time in the gun shops here. I live in Ontario; where abouts are you? If you are looking for some good soft point stuff (sorry I can't paste links; and yes these sites are Canadian)

    frontierfirearms(dot)ca

    theammosource(dot)com

Just do a search; each site has plenty of SP 7.62x39. And also some FMJ stuff if you want to go paper target hunting.

  • @mattiastomb buddy of mine gets lots of soft point ammo for his not sure where he gets it though sorry

  • @mattiastomb you can find soft point 762X39 at reliable gun, and most other vancouver gun stores, but it's expensive, like $1/round

  • @supafly00100aa ouu... ok :(

  • @italianguns It can be. What are you hunting and how close would you like to get? The 7.62x39mm round uses the same sized projectile as the 7.62x54r round the mosin nagant fires but it's intended for closer range targets. I personally prefer a bolt action rifle for hunting but that's just me. The 7.62x39 could easily take down a dear, moose or bear if you can aim straight. If you're going after a smaller critter like a rabbit or fox, might want something a tad smaller like a .243 or .223.

  • @italianguns well not really but it makes it fun, i wouldnt use it going after big bucks or bull moose or nothing but fo does and and cow moose or elk or anything like that yeah. personally id rather use a bow anyway haha lots of fun gotta get close ish

  • @MrMetalman13 In my country, Italy, there are a lot of hunter that use carbines chambered in 7,62x39r but 70% of all italian hunter use 30-06...........the 7,62x39r can't stop a boar with only 1 shot

  • @italianguns bet i could with my bow haha i dont hunt with guns except for coyotes and gophers. All the animals ive killed have been with a mathews bow..... and as long as u dont mean dropping the animal instantly ill agree with u. so many ppl are like oh you need a gun or something bigger than what u got, bigger gun or more power drop the animal right there.. well shoot something in the spine head or break its shoulder and yes u can do that bbut i could do that just as easily with my bow.

  • Great rifle. By the way, try to convert in auto fire...my god...awesome!!!

    Cheers!

  • Great man... By the way...try to convert this wonderfull rifle in auto. My god it's awesome. Cheers!!!

  • MASTER!

  • Yes!! I got one of these today (chinese but hey), it packs way more of a punch than I expected and the sound sent the neighbors dog nuts so I had to stop after only 5 rounds! I'd also strongly advise hearing protection lol, cant wait to sight that puppy in.

Not bad for my first gun

  • @123fukyou awesome. yeah they are loud for sure.. not as loud as my 12 gauge though. they can be surprisingly accurate if they are sighted and you have one with a good barrel. Mine is very accurate but I have read that they are hit and miss and that only some are very accurate. Good luck with your gun

  • yeah mentioned in previous comment

  • People's Liberation Armies favourite Rifle.

They still use it in large numbers.

    Accurate and fast reload speed.

  • ya its fairly accurate. i can ding the bell at 750 feet (1 foot squared metal)... with 2 or 3 shots out of 5.

  • Where'd you get it from?

  • the canadian market just got flooded with these guns, across the country. most of the gun stores in Vancouver, BC sell them for $200. Check Lever Arms on Burrard. The guys working there are not friendly all, but the prices at that place are cheap ($199 for the gun, $350 for the gun w/ 1120 rounds).

  • Lucky

That blows for me, they're all but gone here in the states, damn Chinese gun ban. The average price for one here is 350 for a used Yugo.

  • don't feel too bad, most hand-guns are a lot cheaper in the states than in Canada. Just different markets... Plus I can't get a concealed carry in Canada =(

  • At least I got my Type-56 when they were $125 new.

  • I paid $199 Canadian (around $199 U.S. depending on exchange rate).

It doesn't jam (except for when a female friend of mine was shooting and she was taking too much recoil -- this can cause the round to right-angle in the action and get bit by the bolt, but this never happens if you know how to use the gun).

  • Cool, how much did you pay for this SKS? no jamming problems? Does'nt look like it anyways...

  • Mine was $250 and came with 1120 free rounds of ammunition.

  • doesnt ever jam. but the ammo i have is 40 years old so sometimes there are dead roudns

  • My favorite gun :)

  • it's a great one! the gun and the ammo are cheap to buy. the gun is reliable and powerful. the only big drawback is long-range accuracy.
