  • @hungarrguy: You bring up a valid point, but this guy was crazy. I remember once he held up a sheet of blank notebook paper and said something like "Check out this paper. Blank, expressionless. WHITE." Then he wrote a sentence on it and said "Now look at this. Expression, thoughts are added to the BLANK WHITE page, from this pen. With BLACK ink." Then someone asked what it meant to use blue ink. I thought he was going to hurt somebody.

Either he was crazy, or a brilliant comedian.

  • WTF am i watching?

  • I remember it as well which only shows my age lol

  • I have never heard of this show in any way shape or form.

  • Nobody but me remebers this!! I thought!! Wow I use to love this as a kid!!!!

  • STREET FROGS !!!

  • There was this guy in my sixth grade class who was kind of militant. If you even mentioned Street Frogs, he'd go crazy and start spouting off about how racist it was. He spent a lof of time in the guidance counselor's office, as I recall.

  • @SilentGunman lol

  • @SilentGunman Did you ever wonder if he was right? Think about what kind of impact that has on a child's mind. The association of being black and being a frog is more harmful than it seems. Why not simply draw cartooned black people? A cheap stab at trying to exaggerate an entire races features and compare it to an animals, making them less than human. This type of racism reminds me of the Warner Bros take on Mexicans; Speedy Gonzales. "Look @ my Giant sombrero, Man."

  • @hunggarguy A cultured person, is immediately offended by Speedy Gonzales, as he is an obvious characterization of a lazy gun toting Mexican person, who only bares the semblance of a Mexican person, and none of their culture, heritage and knowledge, manners, or customs. However it does show, all the characteristics of prejudice towards people of Mexican descent, lazy, excitable, fast talking, drunk all the time, sleeps all the time etc. Again, typical WB entertainment for the Genteel masses.

  • what a show!old school hip hop!

  • Ahhhhhhhh *O*! childhood!

  • @mireaux7, The Jackson 5 best teenage cartoon ever! (rhythm, style, jokes was funny) Street Frogs corniest teenage cartoon ever! Me and my cuz use to laugh our ass off not because of any jokes, but we was wondering who the dumbass who produce this corny bullshit! HA,HA,HA!

  • They were always working for seeds.

  • I watched it as a kid , i loved it!! It didnt take alot of graphics and 3d for kids to enjoy something as generic as this. we were more appreciative. which is more than i can say for my kids, cant please em for sh_t..lol

  • Ribbit ribbit ribbit...STREET FROGS!

  • half of the frogs look like junkies.

  • Man this toon sucked and watching it now...mildly racist....

  • Many people here will hate me but.... actually this intro was the only thing I liked about this cartoon. Dunno why, it's just it was a little boring for me, I liked Karate Kat and Mini-Monsters more.

  • what a great show, I remember they use to rotate this show between The Tiger Sharks, karate kat and another one I can't think of. I remember they would only play 3 out of the 4 in a half hour show and I would get mad when the street frogs weren't picked.

  • the one in the middle with sunglasses reminds me of Usher

  • omg!!! WOW! I am feeling my age here.

  • if you remember this, then you remember street sharks and C.O.P.s

  • the taller frog looks like Flavor Flav...

  • You I appreciates you puttin' this up here... I remember this cartoon from when I was a lil nino... Dammit, this brings back memories...

  • the trouble with some of these, their owners feel that it is not worth the effort to produce the DVDs as they will not sell fast enough.

However, they are not discounting their value as broadcast content. Which means you won't see them on DVDs for sale, only available for lease to broadcast stations. Unfortunately, it's not economically feasible for stations to pay for these, since channel surfers would not stay watching them. If it won't do better than an infomercial, they won't air it.

  • want this to be out on dvd, find us at facebook ... simply type: 'We want "The Comic Strip" (1987) on dvd!'

    please join in

  • I vaguely remember this show. This wasn't one of the shows on my regular line up back then, but I remember the intro and that song :) Thanks for posting.

  • You think those Street Frogs are involved in knife crime :O

  • @Ellthom Well the original concept of the show was that it was going to be about some people in the ghetto and they called it Street Niggers. When they pitched the idea to the company president, it was decided this concept as it was would be too offensive to some viewers. So they went back and made them frogs and changed the name to "Street Frogs". Some of the character motivations were also changed such as Dr. Slick's crack habit and Honeylove's prostitution, replaced by Snappy Sam's Diner.

  • wow, i forgot how weird the cartoons back in the days were.

  • I'm insulted. if they have the Mini monsters on you tube, when are they gonna put on the Street Frogs and the rest of the comic strip? Doesn't anyone have any episodes of the comic strip?

  • damn, that brings back memories... the 80s was just gr8... GENUINE JUNK!!!

  • Street Frogs ran from 1987-1988. It's a very obsure cartoon based on a short lived comic strip. I can remember it very well.

  • I don't believe you remember it well. I believe that you are lying.

  • I am 27 years old. I can remember VERY well when this show aired and what kind of saturday morning cartoons I watched in the 1980s. There's no need to troll. BTW, the show was produced by Rankin Bass just before they tanked in 1989.

  • I simply don't believe you.

    Must I?

  • No you don't have to. Why are you trolling me for no reason at all?

  • I think you are taking this way too personally.
