I was on that school bus, those people should not have gotten their dogs back. The dogs continued to attack after the horses kicked the shit out of them and flung them through the air. Even after one dog was limping it still tried to bite the smaller pony. All we could do was sit there while our bus driver blew the airhorn to get the owner to come out. My own in-laws have pits that are not anything like that but those particular dogs should have been taken away and given to someone else.
Just to clear it up they were not bred to be fighting dogs. Humans just decided to because of their traits. There are worse dogs than pitbulls only people never want to hear about that! All they care about it dissing on the dog they ' know ' is bad. All i got to say.

There is an aggressive staff (closest you will get to a pitbull in England) and it is always off it's lead and never wears a mussel. I have a staff myself and the other one tried to fight my dog in the woods so I kicked it in the head and broke 2 of it's legs.

I think the dog breed that is accredited for most bites is the Golden Retriever. However, the difference of a Golden Retriever attack versus a Pit Bull attack are completely different. Not saying that both cannot be to the death but historically Pit Bulls have been bred (and some still bred) to fight to the death. They also have a worse record of attacking othe animals such as other dogs (big and small) and cats.

@KateFan In the end there are just as many attacks by other breeds as there are pittbulls every year. The media seens to focus strictly on large dogs. My friend has huge scars on his face from a golden shepard. It grabbed on and wouldnt let go. My Cousin had to have a dozen stitches on his wrist because of a mutt. In the end its all up to how well the dog was trained. People are more afraid of the larger dogs because they can be more of a threat. thoose dog fighters are to blame.
The real victims here are the pit bulls, who dont have an owner responsible enough to keep them contained. The horses will heal, all people involved will go to sleep in there beds at night, and the pits will probably be killed by the shelter. These are great dogs, people just need to know how to train them and take care of them before getting one.

@MariaHaven Not true. It's not all in how it's raised. Pits need specific training to make proper pets. And even then, it can still go wrong. Of course there is a chance for any dog to attack, but getting attacked by a pitbull is quite different from getting attacked by other weaker dogs.

It doesn't take any training to make them that way in fact it is the opposite. If you want them to be good and gentle dogs it takes training. Many breeds of dogs have singular characteristics that is obvious, pointers point, cattle dogs heel, sheep dogs herd, poodles stand around and look stupid.... pit bulls are killers. I think the dog breed that is accredited for most bites is the Golden Retriever. However, the difference of a Golden Retriever attack versus a Pit Bull attack are completely different. Not saying that both cannot be to the death but historically Pit Bulls have been bred (and some still bred) to fight to the death. They also have a worse record of attacking othe animals such as other dogs (big and small) and cats.

@KateFan In the end there are just as many attacks by other breeds as there are pittbulls every year. The media seens to focus strictly on large dogs. My friend has huge scars on his face from a golden shepard. It grabbed on and wouldnt let go. My Cousin had to have a dozen stitches on his wrist because of a mutt. In the end its all up to how well the dog was trained. People are more afraid of the larger dogs because they can be more of a threat. thoose dog fighters are to blame.

The real victims here are the pit bulls, who dont have an owner responsible enough to keep them contained. The horses will heal, all people involved will go to sleep in there beds at night, and the pits will probably be killed by the shelter. These are great dogs, people just need to know how to train them and take care of them before getting one.

@MariaHaven Not true. It's not all in how it's raised. Pits need specific training to make proper pets. And even then, it can still go wrong. Of course there is a chance for any dog to attack, but getting attacked by a pitbull is quite different from getting attacked by other weaker dogs.

i have an uncle who has breed pitbulls for generations...not 1 has attacked, dont blame the breed..blame the breeders/owners, as most breed aggressive "game bred" pitbulls commonly used for fighting to the death or pig hunting..and some shmuck buys 1 not knowing the history of the breeding and doesnt know it has vicious tendancies...and did you know most attacks are acctually pit mixes, or american staffys or bull terriers

The pit bulls were from a TRAILER PARK...the favorite type of dog of the Trailer park set. I hate pit bulls. Even if they were not unpredictable and violent, they are UGLY!

I deal with dogs daily , I don't work with them ie. dogcatcher,vetrinarian, But have to deal with them in the sense of having to read their body language and mannerisms to ensure my safety. @giasoa ones I have mostly dealt with would tear the skin off "your" face for getting too close. There is a reason pits are so popular they are cool and macho dogs. Drug dealers use them for protection and intimidation. They are used in dog fighting rings and treated like garbage and when they are used up probably shot and left for dead. @lilhillary1 because it is in ALL dogs nature to hunt and chase, if they were attacking the injuries would have been much more extensive, but as it stands they only needed stitches so clearly the dogs thought the horse was playing. They probably wondered on to the property, the horse started running, and that provoked them to chase, just as ANY other dog would do.
