install the Blackberry Desktop Manager, it's the cd you got with the phone. and check for updates while the phone is plugged into the computer.

There is a ton more to this. You really only covered what you see by turning the phone on and using for 30 seconds. It took me 15 minutes to update. Were you on dialup?

Theres alot more new things with the update that you didnt mention. You can click on the clock and manage connections on the home screen. SMS includes smilies. Go to options and then applications. You will see everything is categorized better. Some of the folders have different things in them now. And some other things I cant think of now. Its 10 times better now especially since it runs faster. Im alot happier with it.

Swiping your finger down the keyboard will make it go away if you want the full screen to read the texts. You don't have to push the BB button and then "hide keyboard". It's much quicker to just swipe it. If I understood the comment someone below mentioned that you can't see the messages, you actually can. You can even swipe them up and down with the keyboard in place or swipe down the keyboard to get rid of it.

I hate the messaging - SMS and MMS. I don't like the fact that you can't see what they wrote because it mimics instant messaging. I want my old text messaging app back.
