thank you "ovrdrvn" for ur Bass Amp presentation, it was worth watching & learning the different arrangement of sounds this small pwrful amp delivers! i myself am a Sunday Morning Rock'n Warrior! God Bless u Bro'r! x0]
alrighty i have a gallien krueger 8x10 cabinet . this may sound really dumb but would this head work with it? lol my 8x10 is rated 800w at 4ohms, but it just seems really weird for my cab to weigh 180 pounds then the genz benz weigh 4 pounds.
I´m looking for a new compact nut still powerful amplifier. I play mostly 70`s cover songs in medium sized venues. How does the sound of this amp compare with for example a littlemark? What would You recommend?
i wonder if this would sound good with an acoustic guitar, i know genz benz make acoustic amps but they just dont come with enought watts. what do you think?
I got one and love it. I use it with a 2 12' Neo speakers with 5"
' tweeter (adjustable) 8 0hm -Avatar- playing with a 20 piece big band and the director tells me to turn down. When I'm playing with a quintet or sextet -outside I use my 2 15" 4 ohm Hartke cabinet - 600 watts RMS. NICE! Especially for us older bass players - and you younger guys will love it!!
The review is verry good and it shows what this amp is all abot. Congratulations I've just recieved one this morning and after two hours of testing I must say that it is brilliant. I tested it with Hartke 4X10 and 1X15. Yes, enough bottom for jazz too. SVT is SVT great, but what about budget and not to mantioned 'roady' or bothering your band mates too help you with transportation. This is lightweight cathegory 15times lighter then SVT! Great for touring and giging.
Very interesting review...I played on one of these at a jam and was very impressed with it. The guy was using a agular cabinet and the combination was beyound EXCELLENT . I have one of these amps being shipped to me as I write this...I heard if you have Mark bass amp, and you have a problem, it has to go back ot Italy for repair! That is why I stayed away from that product..
I dare say that would be where you are. It's sound though, it's speculative not total in preference. No right or wrongs. (i've got an old SVT-II (non-pro) and im looking at adding one of these to the arsenal). No need for the hatin' people.
With the one 12 it only runs 375 watts, add a second 12 inch cab to it and it'll run 600 watts. That's where you want to be with this baby. A mini stack! hehe I heard the 3.0 and it sounded great doing blues!
I guess it's a nice amp but it doesn't seem to have enough bottom end for me. Nice for metal, Funk and Hard Rock but for Blues and Jazz (which I play) I just doesn't cut it. I have a much less expensive Ampeg BA115 which can give me the sound of this amp but also the deep full sound I'm looking for. The down fall of the Ampeg is 53 lbs vs 13 lbs for this Amp.
Well, I guess you should test it actually before you comment. I've got GB Shuttle 6.0 and Gallien Krueger BLX410 cabinet and there is nothing you cannot get out of it. Jaco Pastorius, Mark King slap, John Patitucci, you name it. I've been 25+ years in bass playing business and let me tell you, no more heavy old style crap amplifiers. This one does it all. Incredible sound range, light yet POWERFUL, GO GENZ BENZ!!!
what cabinet? Did you test one of the combos? I was impressed with the little 8 inch, but only for being an eight inch. I plan on getting the 2x10 combo, with a stand alone 1 or 15 to get all 600 out of it.
The speaker in this amp is much less efficient than larger speakers so I may not have enough balls compared to your setup. A small speaker like this requires about 4 times the power of a larger more efficient speaker for the same volume.
nice review, i'm sold on this amp. i have a question about the xlr output. can i play through a cab and have it hooked up to a mixer to record it at the same time? thanks
where in Canada are u guys exactly at.....im in Toronto,ON......i'd love to take a trip to the shop...im a bass player myself....5 strings left handed.

Does anyone think that this amp could do a nice fat tone? Think Dirk Lance formerly from Incubus.

Good review. Question: Think no problem hooking my 4x10 and 1x15 Hartke cabs to the Shuttle 6.0?
FLADeadrock 3 years ago
I'm shure there's no problem as long as both your cabs have an 8 ohm impedance

Not to mention weighs 5 times as much too...
3.75 lbs... thats roughly 1.7kilograms... its not even heavy enough to be a paperweight... sheesh.

It probably would sound great with a big heavy 15" cab. For the sound I prefer smaller speakers don't seem to cut it no matter how many you use.
tbcass 3 years ago
Man, I would totally use two of these instead of my big pre/power rig. Too bad that would run me $1200 US.

yeah, when I said "two of these" I was just talking about the shuttle itself, not the cabinet.
