Never heard this song before.... this man has a lovely voice and presence and I was called after a man called Brian Stokes! The choral backing lovely too... must get a cd of his...
@LGkim Brian Stokes Mitchell didn't write this. It was written by John Bucchino, originally as a stand-alone song, but later added to a theater work-in-progress called URBAN MYTHS and was to be sung by a man dying of AIDS. It's a tribute to his brother who died from the same.
Now a part of John Bucchino's musical revue "It's Only Life". Recorded by Billy Porter on the soundtrack. Amazing song.

Saw Brian last night at NJPAC and he closed with this song. Absolutely beautiful. A reminder this holiday season about what really matters.

Beautiful song and a wonderful interpretation. I've heard it before but the tempo has been a little rushed. This is just right.

John Bucchino is a brilliant composer - this is one of my favorite songs *ever*. Saying a lot. Kind of a theme to my life, most days.
