@metalsimon even though i fucking love agren's style, i prefer junky funk's cover of this song(though the sax player isn't as good as this one, he plays with no power at all!) it sounds way groovier than this, i understand his style isn't meant to be groovy, he plays around the measures, so in a way this is more rhythmically technical than funky junk's drummer, but it just sounds so fucking solid that i prefer it over this.
Morgan Agren is the shit! bottom line! But i agree with dude that said something about Sweden musicians. Shits ridiculous. I was actually blown away by the goofy looking keyboardist! lol He was awesome!!

Tickets: mellotronen com e-mail: info at mellotronen com
Mats' stabs starting at 5:10 give Morgan's torrent of a drum solo the extra umph it (barely) needed. These dudes are the template of awesomeness that i keep on getting back to. Mats and Morgan band.... such legends.
does anyone else think that the tuning on his drums is not too good, or is that just me? Amazing performance though, kind of schizophrenic with all the things going on at once. Can't even imagine trying to transcribe this one.
@mattwalker21 this is technicality wise the best version....but junky funk's cover is better in it's own way(speaking about just the drums) you might not like it though cause the sax player is too mellow in that cover, but the groove is sick! of course this version just blows it away drum wise!
@mattwalker21 junky funk's version is worth checking out also....though the sax has a very mellow style....but the drums have a thick odd time groove....but nobody can play drums like morgan agren!
I've been listening to Morgan since 1997, when I first got "Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects" Sol Niger Within CD as a present. He turned my world upside out. Absolutely incredible!!!
@joromark since you can appreciate something as heavy as that, you should listen to animals as leaders, chimp spanner, keith merrow, and kevin suter(they are all instrumental)....also if you want to something just plain crazy on the guitar then listen to john 5 and jeff loomis!
hahaha.i read somethin funny once.that weckl came up to morgan at some drum clinic(or something like a clinic)after morgan did a demonstration an said "man...what are you doing???",to which morgan replied "....i dont know" hahaha.pretty funny.he does have an almost comical style.
haha yeah but i think he was kind of appalled by morgan's destruction of time and method......he has none! i think they are actually mutual admirers of each others playing these days though. funny stuff
i dont know. i thought his unorthodox playing and murder of any kind of method spoke for itself(and my comment) ive listened to them since the late 90's and he's always played like a tight-rope walker he fades in and out of his time(not off though)
>vviinnssaanniittyy > No, it is no Pastorius song. It is an A.J. Ellis song. But as you, I also find this version "almost better". And that's not easily said, that someone makes it better than Jaco.
