When I am in a less than happy mood, I like to listen to the music of Tomaso Albinoni. It is surprisingly an instant uplift in the mood and spirit. I wish that I had met him!
Unbelievable. We play this piece with the orchestra (I play violin) but this is in a different key - the sheet we got is in original Dminor and this is a haltone higher Gminor. It's sad, but it's impossible to practice with this record.. still it's a beautiful piece and I'm glad it's here :)
I hear this oboe concerto on iTunes all the time and just had to find it on YouTube. I have a recording of No. 8 Op. 9 and would love to hear the entire Opus. This is such beautiful music.
Oh my! How do you get pissed off children that just cleaned the basement to suck it up and go out in the snow and have a good time? This piece did it. It is rare that you can put music on that simply changes a negative minue to a positive one. Where this piece slows down a bit here and there, the atmosphere it creates is always one that inspires one to have a good attitude.
Ich liebe dieses Spiel. Besonders das Tempo ist schön gewählt - auffällig der rhythmisch schwungvolle Gang im Mittelteil. Die Instrumente klingen wunderschön. Eine congeniale Performance. Bravissimo!
Dear Harmonico 101, thank you so much for uploadin' this celestial music. I love it and Albinoni's compositions! It gives me peace and great emotions.
As oppose to modern music, classical is striped naked of any digital effects or sound performance optimizing. It relys only on the composer's vision, conductors' skills and passion and a basic proper acoustic envoironemnt. Much harder to deceive your listeners this way, which imo is why every bit of joy that comes from this type of music is 100 times greater than any other.
Isso é lindo, maravilhoso, na minha infância eu ouvia esse concerto todos os dias, mesmo não tocando oboé sou um grande fã desse instrumento maravilhoso
@fubukiiwanami they never will. This is true mastery not rap or rock(;p even though i do like rock) classical music is real, emotional and toatally badass ;p
The melodies, The syncopated structural motifs, and the blending thereof is really quite interesting in this piece. Yet, you would never know it from the fact that these performers have it all on snooze control and make it all one soupy beautiful gelatinous mass.
Until a couple of months ago I didn't know Albinoni at all, and now I'm growing fond of him, thanks to this video - and some others on youtube :-)
I've often heard, that J.S. Bach was influenced by the italians, but I couldn't really hear it, untill now, with Albinoni - especially the third movement of this concerto, reminds me of the brandenburg-concertos! All this lovely music!!!
@Ennah08 Albinoni isn't the worst you could get acquainted with on youtube :-) He is one of real the masters of italian baroque. Check out Scarlatti as well if don't already know him.
Grazie, Senor Harmonico. The first time I encountered theethereal and heavenly music of thisgreat Baroque Italian composer, and in particular this beautiful concerto from this opus was on vinyl ie. the set wth the great oboist Hans de Vries way back in the '8o's, a set I cherished very much. It has a certain melancholy that seems appropriate for the slow mvnt. but nonetheless, this is a great pfrmn. sd goh (malaysia)
This music gives me the feeling of being surrounded by loved ones on christmas morning, it causes feelings of happiness to well up inside me in the most very raw form. Truly awe inspiring, like the night sky.
@HenryThomasGeorgeDoe Total brain fart on that one to be honest, I had been listening to mozart all night and then switched to this, I didnt even realize I posted that first one :D lol... aaaand removing.
Harmonico, I don't know who you are but you upload great music. I hope you don't mind that I'll spread the word throught Twitter (look for Casakoen). The more hear about this music the better it seems to me. I hope you upload lots more of music, thanks.

Good sound, but... isn't it a bit too fast? The adagio is almost (if not completely) andante...

The slow movement sounds like what was used in the movie 'Enchanted April.' Is that right?

@peter96 Well the version i played seemed to be D-Minor. I think the key doesnt matter so much unless you are interested in what it originaly was.

The very best performance of this wonderful concerto (by my humble opinion):
The London Virtuosi - oboe soloist Anthony Camden and the conductor John Georgiadis, from 1993. It's sublime.
