  • Street View for the win.

  • thank you for the video but i want to navigate australia myself

  • if you ask me this is not something that is usefull (cool)

  • Using other ideas or not, Google does it better.

  • Another smart innovation from Google. Especially suitable for countries where Street View is still not available.

  • poor pegman, he hates it when he turns grey

  • Booo to more junk using Flash! Shame on Google for not implementing this with the standards-compliant HTML5 canvas.

  • kudos for being the only intelligent commenter on youtube.

  • At the moment this is the best supported way to accomplish this. When html5 becomes more widespread with the newer browser, there's nothing that keeps Google from switching.

  • muy bueno

  • Yeah, but Picasa sucks, so good you don't force people to use that.

  • Awesome and since this uses flash it is avaliable on Win/Mac/Linux and Android.

Steve only sees blue boxes tho. :)

  • You can do street view on android?

I haven't found that on the google maps application that came preinstalled on my android(Only had it for a couple of days)

  • @lordmetroid Hold your finger down on a street and a menu will pop up after a second or two. You should be able to do streetview from there.

  • never thought I would say this, but microsoft is actually ahead this time...

  • Ahead if you own a windows operating system. Pft, who wants to do that?

Not me, that is for sure!

  • Microsoft? Google is independent of Microsoft. Microsoft's search engine is Bing.

  • Except it requires Silverlight to use it. This requires only Flash, which while still crappy, is at least available for just about all platforms except iPhone

  • @wastechart fuck iphone. who cares about iphone, get another cellphone that can do the job if you really want to use this. what there is no "app" for siver sight?

  • @Batch1211

    I agree.

Though I don't use MS machines or Apples - guess what?? :))

I saw Photosynth and thought it was a great application. Finding that they were restricting it to another plugin was annoying and disappointing

So, I'm glad to see that the Google boys and girls have come through again.

  • @Batch1211 You realize that google and microsoft are 2 completely diferent companies right?

  • He was saying that Microsoft is ahead of Google. It's understandable that you didn't catch this; it's not true in this case.

  • yay !

  • this is so fucking awesome

  • Hey, they finally did it! I saw a demo of Microsoft doing something similar to this a few years ago and I instantly wondered when Google would integrate it into Google maps.

  • @Ajedi32 was on tedtalks right?

I saw it too and did exactly the same :)

  • @shahab29inch I am not sure exactly where I saw it. I was just browsing the internet when I stumbled across it. It might have been on tedtalks though.

  • lol, i've been click and dragging the "guy" at some random places in USA and watch the places like in an hour now lol, kinda nice

  • Wouldn't agree that this is better than what Bing is doing.

Bing layers the picture straight onto streetview images.

I just tried this out and its a little more that a slideshow. Bing also has photosynth's integrated into the maps!

  • This is exactly Photosynth, including integrating user photos into streetview. I'm not sure the feature is live on Google Maps yet. User Photo Slideshows on Google Maps have been around well over a year now.

  • This is not even close to the Bing demo that was shown.

The photo's were seamlessly integrated into the streetview in the Bing demo.

  • Bing maps does this with Flickr images, and does it a hell of a lot better too.

    Check out my video response!

  • This video had me smiling from beginning to end. I miss Prague!

  • This is actually pretty amazing. Yes, I know this comment adds absolutely no value :)

  • this is just awesome! i think that google maps is so awesome!

  • the audio transcription is completely wrong! google should improve that or at least upload proper subtitles! anyway very nice feature in google maps!

  • if anyone upload the fake photos, how google modify it?

  • would u upload a fake photo? i hate when people miseplace pictures, anyways good video

  • @pitpalak of course, i don't. but, i have fear.

  • Twat

  • Cool...

  • bing has something similar. but im not complaining! google always does it better.

  • Who will be the winner? Bing of Microsoft or Google Maps~ Interesting!

  • of course Google_)

  • thats amazing!

  • lol, audio translator, from 0:32 to 0:52

  • thats cool

would be even cooler if u could integrate videos

  • COOL AWESOME

  • yay for google :D

  • look google dont to poor contrys like africa also i dont see stret view in the middel east

  • thats absurd. good job google

  • That is damn awesome!

  • another impressive idea, i'll try it out

  • This is neat. I wonder if they're going to do the "video" integrated like bing.

  • The transcrition subtitle are just horrible :( seems the technology is not good enough at the moment, it's sad for the deaf people and the foreigners like me

  • Why doesn't Google use images from Wikimedia Commons?

  • I've seen this kind of tech on TED last year or year before. Great that they implemented it to google maps

  • nice

  • wow

  • Finally Google makes 1080p video's.

  • @Superharas There's no big difference between 720p and 1080p. At least not for me.

  • You can only see it if you have a screen with a higher resolution that 720p

  • i only like the short google videos...

  • same
