  • Im luvin these past hiking videos.. You got a great character and have fun in your trips. take care

  • @beactivelife Thanks a bunch.

  • do u make camp fires?

  • @triviumlambofgod From time to time but mostly too lazy or tired after a day of backpacking.

  • dude...I love the Dog's Eye View. Epic.

  • @donvilla76 I thankee. Fun to play a bit.

  • Shug...you know you can get your coffee crisps on Amazon.com right?

  • @blarg3312 I did get a big box of them from Amazon....but I prefer to torture myself and wait to go to Canada...makes them even more special.

  • Looks like good times. I'm ready to go again myself...just a bit too cold for a Florida gal though ;) c

  • @SoulSurvivorX2 Never done any FL hiking myself......Ghaaaa, I sweat in the cold.

  • why dont you ever make a fire? (with wood)

  • @cheeselyman I am too lazy!!!!!

  • The shot with the camera on the zip line and you two racing to the hammocks had me in stitches. Replayed it 3 times. It reminded me of a recent vid where you said something into the camera then chucked into the air, funny stuff. Keep it up.

  • @stackoleebillylions Backwoods follies!

Thanks feller....I am rough on that camera.

  • I've been camping/hiking all my life. I never even considered using a hammock until I watched some of your vids..awesome.. will never go back to the ground.. umm unless the knots fall apart.. thanks dude

  • @msjcl1 Whoooo Buddy!

  • I do like you video's. Do you soak your feet before or after you re- hydrate.

  • @shippen2010 Thanks....as I re-hydrate.

  • OK....OK....I'll try for you!

  • I know its hard but pan slower. LOL

  • @wedgematthew I really never get up that way.....on my to-do list for sometime when I have the extra travel time.

I'll pm you the music link....

  • What kind of sheath is that on your Mora? Did you make it yourself? Looks like some sweet kydex action!

  • We did the section from Crosby Manitou to Horseridge then back. An in and out.

  • hey, greaaaat vid shug, thanks for sharing. can i ask, what trails did u take this trip, from start to finish. thanks shug! whoooo buddy!

  • Jealous...eeeee- Man, I miss my Northland home!! Thanks for sharing Shug! Pete D.---

  • @PeteSeeker455 I hear and feel you!!

  • likeeee!!

  • Shug it's always awesome to see one of your vids. Hammock on!!!

  • @ScoutsNOA Appreciated for sure. Been busy....need to get to a vid soon.

  • Hey Shug, have you seen the news on the new OHM 2.0? Whadd'ya think? I am trying to figure between Circuit and Ohm and this just complicates it. Looks from your vid like the OHm is narrower than a Circuit, so wondering if it fits certain body types differently, or just carries differently as so many hammockers seem to choose it. Your vids have been a great help to me, esp to convince me that Hammocks are viable way to go.

  • @condyeckerle I like the pockets on the OHM better. The Circuit has a better back pad. Both terrific. OHM is longer and narrower. Bit more volume on the Circuit.

  • Shug, Hadn't been on the trail since "76" but you inspired me to get back out there. Started to hike the AT again after many years and it was invigorating. Your videos even encouraged me to get a hammock and it has been great not luging a tent around. Look forward to seeing your next video. MN is very beautiful this time of year. Were just coming into the peak colors here in south central PA.

  • @hardrockcharlie1 Whooooooooooo Buddy!

  • cant wait to get back to mn!

  • @kuwaitsucksballs Look forward to your return. I take it you are serving our Country....thanks a ton.

  • @shugemery Yes i am thank you for your support...i love your videos! they have me itching to get back to the north woods. keep the videos coming!

  • Shug, winter is rolling in and I was wondering what kind of layering of bags/quilts you were using to get sufficient temp ratings to stay warm in your -20F videos?

  • @steffler69 This winter I will go with my pod system in sub 0º......sleeping bag over hammock with a TQ and light UQ inside. Totally warm!!!!

  • You need a prize for your cinematography. I will notify the academy to see if you qualify!

  • @Myteathor I sure appreciate that!

  • Hi Shug, greetings from Sacramento CA. I like your sense of humor, You make me laugh. You must have some Irish blood like me, except you sound Cajun and you're from Minnesota. Oh well, hoist a pint of Guinness for me. Slainte!

  • @guyfihi Born in Derry, N.I. My Mom is from Tipp.

    I thank you.

  • Shug, You are a true ambassador of the trail my friend! Your videos keep getting better and better!

  • @scubabbyy Well thankee feller!

  • Another great movie as usual. Hey Shug, this week I bought an Eagle Nest Outfitters hammock. I'm slowly conforming to your habits. btw, how did you perform that special camera action in camp? It looks as if the camera was on some kind of trolley system. Or was there a third party that came by to help you out? I've learned alot from your videos. Thanks! Briz

  • @athiker7209 Good deal on the hammock. That is my backwoods string cam....I run it myself with top secret techniques!

Thanks...glad you got something out of them.

  • @shugemery. Looks like a great place I may have to get up there. How do you like the Active Ankle?

  • @Norskand67 I got a real weak ankle and I hike with confidence with it. Light and strong and pretty comfortable in the boot.

  • Shoooog! I have probably watched three or four dozen hours of you, and never ever laughed gut-bustin' out loud like I did with that shameful covetous remark. That hit my funny bone, man. You're promoting healthy living and putting a geeky techy edge on it. I can't tell you how much you've taught all of us. Thanks!

Sometimes the dead top comes loose and falls straight down--not with the rest of the tree. Something like that would have hit Wandering Fool.
