FYI: Barber's results have actually already been published in peer reviewed literature. They have been accepted as correct by the scientific community because of multiple other observations of exactly the same thing.

I am looking at a computer image of early September 2009 and it was broken up ice at that time.

The computers were not incorrect. Also the computer shows the ice cap is elongated that year with the region north of Tukoyaktuk as being the narrowest amount of ice on the cap.

I have to point out no scientist would every make a conclusion like he did.

look at the satellite photos yourself you can see the ice was broken up or thin ice.north of Tukoyaktuk why was it such a shock for them if I can read it myself on the Satellite photos?

What is happening is ; the particulates coming from auto exhaust and coal burning coat the snow pack and absorb more sunlight. This causes faster melting.

This guy is a liar, he's getting paid $40 million canadian to "prove" the ice cap is melting. There are numerous studies that contradict his claims. This is his last ditch attempt to influence Copenhagen with his lies. Other extensive on the spot studies have shown the ice is between 2.5 (2 yr) to 4 meters (4 yrs old) thick. Secondly, his course was east to west in the South Beaufort Sea, at 75 deg latitude, far from the pole and along the periphery of the ice pack between Alaska and Siberia.
