  • sad he died

  • Look this. I have this on my ipod but this video is the best. You can tell he loved what he did and that he loved this song. This song always makes me move.

  • I find Tito Puente's Music inspirational, to see the utter joy on his face while he plays brings it all home for me....it is just sad that people have to denegrate such a purists pleasure with idiotic comments that shows a serious lack of intelligence. Music is the internation language of the soul....and if you cannot understand and appreciate that please don't inflict your ignorance on those who do...thank you for posting this boricuajazzz8 .

  • this always reminds me of The Big Lebowski and the In and Out Burger.

  • I'm playing this song in band :) Finally, something a bit interesting

  • Does anybody have the score or the leed sheet of this song?? Please send me if you have it! Thanks a lot!!

  • Thank You Tito for giving us such a great song and a wonderfull memory that will live in every LATINO/HISPANIC heritage. Que Dios te acompane/May God be with you.

  • It saddens me that all the drunk, white retards in this video take away from what a righteous Latin jam this is. If you ain't got no rhythm, sit your honky ass down!

  • @outlawdad74 didn't sound real good ...saddens me that you feel that way

  • flute guy was just loud in THIS mix... you're not hearing what the crowd heard

  • lol gringos think they can dance salsa jajajaja

  • "El Rey" has been honored March, 2011 with his likeness on a US postage stamp!

  • More cowbell.

  • As much as I enjoy this original version, I grew up with Santana's music and like that too, so I don't think one is better than the other. They're just different.

Incidentally, it's funny to watch the two drunk women dancing with their beers. Sometimes you just throw away all inhibitions and let the music move your body in any way it can. :-)

  • Pure Awesomeness. I love TITO PUENTE!!!

  • One does not speak Spanish or Portuguese to understand this Music. Forget about all the BS in the USA. Just listen to the good music...Our Government does not listen to US anyway. God Bless Mr. Tito.

  • @jbones61 agreed

  • white ppl dancing always puts a smile on my face =)

  • Would happen to have any footage from the 1992 JVC Newport Jazz Festival? I went to that one and would love to see some footage.

  • @KillerFlutejuice401 you are really stupid you know... the sound of the flute is really what makes the salsa montuno more enjoyable... seems you are not latin.. and if you are, you suck at been one.

  • @juanchitoalonso You can Suck my Puerto Rican, Asshole, I Know When a Dickhead is over playing you piece of Dumb shit!

  • @KillerFlutejuice401 I like when they blow the whistle!!! What a terrific band!!!

  • @KillerFlutejuice401 but that guy is awesome =D

  • @KillerFlutejuice401 that would be the sound guys fault eh?

  • @sNaRe270 , I guess its alright if you're tone deaf eh?

Gracias Maestro

  • Massive sound!!!!!

  • white ppl own the world ONLY cos of Columbus discovering the Americas.....sino serian un bonche de cavernicolas, pero asi es la vida

  • @portalr Columbus is a joke! How do you "discover" a place that is inhabited with structured societies and established trade with other countries? Not dissin you, just the way history perverts the truth!

  • @portalr - before Columbus there were the Vikings & before them the Polynesians & before them the Asians who crossed the ice to the Americas from what is now near Mongolia and northern Russia.

  • @GoodVibesSoundSystem

you know your history but what does that have to do with anything I've said?

  • cool

  • 284000 views :-)

CHILENO SOY

  • It's Awk City in the audience...

  • I've loved El Puente all my life...BUT it was Cachao that wrote "oye Como Va"

  • I love this!

  • I need more cowbell.

  • @conputeur my tambourine is shaking !!!!

  • He musta played this song a million times & he never got tired of it, gotta love Tito. Me, being of the blood of Scots & a right round punk in origin, if I had to play this song a million times I'd want to bash his tamales over his head. (yeah, yeah I know it's "timbales") Y tan orgullosos ser latinos estan cuando escuchan este canciòn! "somos los mejores!" Yeah, but this music originated in Africa,no? DIme.

  • The GI Bill allowed Mr Puente to study music at Juilliard School of Music, where he completed a formal education in conducting, orchestration and theory. In 1969, he received the key to the City of New York from former Mayor John Lindsay. In 1992 he was inducted into the National Congressional Record, and in 1993 he received the James Smithson Bicentennial Medal from the Smithsonian EL REY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bless all musicians forever.

  • @Mamasan41 We miss you so much, sir

  • @Mamasan41 Amen! God Blessed us with his presence and his music. I totally agree with you. I am GI Bill student at The University of Texas. I pray for determination like Mr. Puente

  • I am 70, can't walk worth a darn but I can dance!!!! I threw away physical therapy sessions and bought a good tambourine!

  • Back in the day in New York we would go to the Paladium and dance to the break of dawn, didn't matter who you were or what color you were, as a born afro american how I love the music and Dance, bring back those days...........

  • God I can honestly listen 2 this for hours without end, sumtimes i feel as though i was born in the wrong era because you dont hear music like this anymore. I would give anything just for a chance 2 c Tito play at the Palladium, or give anything to see Hector sing his lungs out, same goes for Frankie and Celia, the Original Fania All stars from back in the 60's (i believe) lol, the list goes on and on, saludos from the boogie down Bronx,

  • music shall save the world people!

  • @1:18 Ron Burgundy!

  • @ Palladium, you are a true Legend......

  • @MrJNiemzyk - No, man, you're not nuts. Not in the least. You're just a simple run of the mill complete & total freakin' idiot. Now...go drink the Kool Ade. On second thought, pour your self a double.

  • ¡Me encanta!

  • all I can say is: WOW !!!!

  • How crazy is it to think that this song, on Santana's Abraxas, is about impregnating the virgin Mary? The front cover is a painting of a dark-skinned Mary and this song is about impressing a mulata. I wrote a review of Abraxas for an emglish class and I came to that conclusion. Am I nuts?

  • @MrJNiemzyk life isnt about finding an explanation to everything, nut if you enjoy doing so, give it a try you may have a future. still make sure that youre completely convinced of your fundaments and credentials, dont let any of your investigations change the perspective of your live.

  • @mayoanddui Well of coarse. It's just interesting.

  • @MrJNiemzyk Yes you are nuts! You spelled english wrong : /

  • @MrJNiemzyk I should have said that everything written after the "?" Was what I found from research. All I'm saying about the song itself is that he says mulata, a dark woman. The significance of my saying "on Santanas Abraxas," is that the album, when looked at like a symphony, uses "Oye c v" as a climax and uses a famous mural (I forget the name exactly) named after the bible-story where an angel got mary prego.

  • now i could just imagine playing this at a beach on a sunny summer afternoon on the beach with a giant crowd having a great old time damn that is just sounds awesome

  • @LdRs14 W can too dance you bigot! bunch of racists on BoobTube,\.

  • @questionmark5581

Lol it's funny how white people are the ones who complaint about racism...

No one said that ALL americans can't dance. That guy just said that in general they don't dance salsa as good as a black person or a latinamerican would.

    That's not racism.
